THE PICK UP PROCEDURE VIA MY PHONE DID NOT WORK.
The online process was very challenging to someone that is older or not super tech savvy. Even my son was having problems during the pickup. The owner of the business was rude and said basically why would he help someone if he is not getting a piece of it (meaning since we did not order through him originally). He finally did offer his assistance for which i was grateful but i have no wish to go through that experience again. If I need to rent a truck again, I would explore all other options before going back.
1) The rental location is too small and it makes backing out with a truck difficult. 2) The manager was not wearing a mask and he kept coming within 3 feet of me to talk to me. 3) The cab of the truck was beyond disgusting and cab wreaked of cigarette smoke. 4) The truck was really old. The shift handle was very loose and shifting into reverse was difficult. I will never rent from U-haul again. There are way to many other options available to put up with this kind of service.
I was told I would receive a credit and I didn't I drove in town 4 different times, 6 blocks each each. I paid for 60mile? I was told to be back at 10:30. I was there at 9 waiting and then had to pay for an extra day because they made mistake and I needed to be back by 8:30. I was even charged for a key. I gave the owner the key. Unbelievable!!!! Never again!
The only issue I have is that it smelled like cigarettes. And a bit dirty in the cab area.

The people at the pickup location were not very professional or knowledgeable about UHaul. When we arrived at their opening time (8:00 a.m.) and said we had a reservation that was moved to their location, they initially seemed confused and said that the employee who handles the UHaul reservations doesn't arrive until 9:00. They also made a couple negative comments about UHaul around changing people's reservation locations at the last minute. It was annoying that our reservation was moved 30+ minutes away each way from where we wanted it, but to have the dealer make negative comments about UHaul was surprising. We also received no information about returning/what to do with the truck or any sort of receipt, they just handed us the keys and that was it. I had to get a receipt for the initial billing at the UHaul location where we dropped it off at. All in all we got our truck fine and everything worked out, but it wasn't a positive experience.
I picked up a Uhaul cargo van from Dan's auto body, and to my surprise, I find 2 charges on my bank account for approximately 15 and 45 dollars. After investigating, I found an email saying I was being charged a cleaning fee and a late fee for the late payment of the cleaning fee. I returned the van exactly how I found it with everything cleared out, and triple checked everything. I am not responsible for cleaning up other peoples messes when I pick up the van before using it. So I called the shop to try and clear it up and whoever was on the other line cut me off, told me it was a "done deal", and literally started swearing at me over the phone when I questioned him how wooden furniture could produce a pile of drywall and salt. I would NOT recommend to this location unless you want to be robbed of your hard earned money. Even when I was picking up the van, he was getting visibly upset because someone else was picking up at the same time and he didn't take the time to sort the issue, which was solved in a matter of minutes. The attitude at the shop was unacceptable and this is literally the worst customer service I have ever had. STAY AWAY!
My agent that I deal with< Anthony is totally top notch. Always has my concerns in mind. I recommend Anthony to anyone needing to rent UHaul equipment to talk with Anthony. He has totally sold me on the company.
Create an option to easily switch your current reservations vehicle choice. I changed my mind and wanted a van instead of a pick up truck and I had to cancel the truck and resubmit everything for a van. Instead of just switching vehicles
Do not tell customer a flexible return time and then double charge for fees and time. Horrible experience.
Faster app approval. We were waiting 15 minutes before we were approved to take the keys.
My truck was not there when i went to retrieve it. However the customer service person whom i spoke with on the telephone was very accommodating and quickly located me another truck and set me up to pickup immediately at an alternative location not far away.
They try to charge me for another day after the truck was returned the same day I rented it, they try saying the truck wasn't there in the morning after they checked the truck in and the miles match on the bill they billed me for.

Anthony went out of his way to help me when there were tech glitches. Stayed determined to resolve to my satisfaction. Very helpful and friendly.
The inside of the windshield needed to be cleaned. The previous user had a dog. Dog nose prints were all across the interior windows Thanks.
Have accurate information on the pick up site. U-haul informed me the remote pickup site would be opened at 8 am Saturday. The pickup location was not opened at ALL on the weekend! We drove from out of State to a closed location. We did not get a 24 hour notification. I had to call and u-haul said "Oh, it seems it was just entered". To add to the mess, 'someone' had canceled our reservation we found out when we called u-haul at the pickup site! We're just glad we got to the remote pickup location early, otherwise we would not have had a truck! Plus, when we got to the u-haul where our stuff was stored, the u-haul had a ROW of trucks! The official u-haul location didn't know why we were sent to Fox Lake when they had trucks available! I've had issues with u-haul in the past and thought I had everything covered for this move, double checked the time and location-wrong! How can a person plan when given wrong information! I hope I don't have to move again! We want to thank Dan's Auto Body (the remote pickup location)! They were wonderful! Remember: they were closed but Dan and his wife went out of their way to help us.
