When your customer rents ANY truck, or trailer or car carrier; particularly with one of the larger trucks, you would be doing them a great service by simply asking them if they are going to be utilizing a GPS-type trip mapping unit. if so, let them know they need to consider shopping for one that offers the truck dimensions, weight, height, and length from the front of the truck to the end of the truck or overall length with the towed trailer. Should they will be towing a trailer behind any vehicle, regardless of towing vehicle, they may be subject to fines, and may even be subject to jail time in various parts of the country - should they make the same mistake we did. This extra service takes a minimal amount of time and will give you one more step above your competition. We made a wrong turn on the advice of our GPS unit on to a "Parkway" in New Rochelle, NY. Due to extremely heavy traffic, and our ignorance of the area we followed GPS unit directions that cost us greatly. By the time I saw the “No Trucks” sign, I could not get out of the turning lane. Once on the parkway, we immediately began looking for an exit. Unfortunately, we could only exit into neighborhoods with very narrow roads. We ended up stopping just short of a bridge that was 9 feet, 11 inches in clearance and calling the police for help. Rather than help us, they gave us sketchy neighborhood information; did not escort us out of a very precarious situation, advice as to the types of roads we could and could not drive on, and tickets for being on the road we had taken by accident! That mistake has cost us over $1,000.00 in fines to date! I am not saying it is your fault, but you would be providing your cross-country clients a great by advising them in writing to consider shopping for such a GPS unit or getting advice from a travel service while planning, and before making their move. One of your employees at the Florissant, MO location did us a great favor AFTER previous employees installed a trailer hitch on our van which did not have the capacity to carry the load I told them I was considering. At the time of installation, they did not advise us that my idea was a dangerous one. He told us he was sorry for an error he did not make, but he could not allow us to attempt to pull a car with our van - which would have put my family in danger. For that I am grateful. His expertise surely saved us large headaches. Adding this extra feature will do even more. These are the things which make me want to do business with your company again - not the equipment or the rates. PLEASE advise your customers/clients to be sure they use a GPS Unit with dimension/weight/length features. I hope to see such signs in the next U-Haul facility I visit.

The outside of place was a mess. The truck was dirty inside and out and REEKED of smoke. I had to keep windows open and ended up w a headache and had trouble breathing. I would have cancelled, but had to pick up before they opened.

I even went so far as to call corporate about the level of performance of this facility. It was deplorable. The young man I was working with (Kyle) was not well-trained, or exhibiting any customer service skills whatsoever. Went so far as to call me a liar about a mistake he was making.Rented from this location at least seven times before, but will never again.I have never, ever, been dealt with in such an unprofessional manner. Trailer was fine, but moving blankets were not given And then lied about in the process. When the vehicle needed to be returned was another lie. Didn’t even make it to the front counter for 20 minutes although there were no other customers in the building but me. Upon further investigation, they were in back playing with a tape ball. Ridiculous!!!A humiliating despicable experience all the way around. A full refund would not hide the embarrassment that was caused me in front of my young son.
