Took long time to rent because of computer issue and one of the lights didn't work and they couldn't fix it so I had to drive Six hours at night without a light

I think they need to have more than one person working. The place is also a small general store type place and if that person is helping uhaul clients then he has to lock the business down during that time.
I had made the reservation the previous evening for a 26' truck and a dolly. Upon arrival, the person checking me in for the reservation was very nice. However, she added extra insurance that I had not specified on my reservation nor requested when checking in. She said, â€œmost people get it.â€ The truck upon inspection was in poor repair. Skirting was missing, the head light looked like it was about to fall off as a couple of examples. Generally, there was not a spot on the truck that did not have a scratch, dent or major repair needed. Also, the dolly that was on the reservation was not available, so we had to drive the opposite direction of our destination to pick up the reserved dolly. The truck ran fine during the day. However, in the evening when the lights were turned on, one of the marker lights goes out signifying an electrical issue. The gentleman who was supposed to be closing out the reservation was rude and said he refused to check the truck in. After getting off the phone with a u-hail representative, a new employee came out to finish checking in the truck. She was the only positive about this whole experience.
The staff was polite and friendly! However parking was tight.

I had paid to pick it up at 7:30 AM. The establishment was closed. I called U-haul to notify them, they sent me to another establishment for 8:15, which also was closed. I had to go back to Behind the Bluffs at 9, when they opened. Then it took the lady who worked there 50 mins to fill out her end of the paperwork. I filled out my paperwork on my phone for my check-in. I had a moving company scheduled for 8, but didn't even get to leave Behind the Bluffs with my truck until 10, 2 and A HALF HOURS later than scheduled.
parking lot is very small and can be difficult to manuver
Sorry but this neighborhood is not for a single elder woman to return a trailer by herself. The store was selling vapor cigs at the time and I could not get in a word with the two women behind the counter because they were on the phone with personal business. I had a man blocked outside and he was waiting for someone to come out to move the trailer while I was waiting for the women to hang up and do my paperwork. Smelled strongly of cigarettes in there and the workmen were very smelly and had on wife beater shirts.
Staff was very polite and helpful during the return process.
Hand truck and dolly were not at site as ordered on-line. Actual U-Haul truck was clean and drove very well.
Truck was super dirty in cab area and had an atrocious smell. Also odometer kept changing modes so I felt like it was not accurate. The bill was nearly 1/3 higher than originally quoted thats a large window. Also rental beginning was 45 minutes rental return with nearly as long seems awfully time-consuming.
We had signed up for the 24/7 pick up/drop off but when we finished signing in on our phone, 50 minutes when by and we still didn't have approval to take the truck. The keys were inside the store so we had to cancel our reservation and start a completely different one inside the store for the same truck. Online we ordered 2 dollies and they weren't even in the truck. When we were done and dropped off the truck, our invoice shows that we were charged for the $56 safe move plus. We were not asked if we wanted that package. In fact, I signed up for the $14 package when I signed up online. What a mess.
The dolly for my car was brought in for my rental and it was not in great shape. One of my cars tire strap came loose when I got to my destination.
Nothing down to earth people
There was a headlight out. Also we were told it could be back later. We were just over 2 hrs later than the planned 8. It was almost $40 more.
Shorter wait time
Very simple check in/out. Customer trust is high that they give it to you and you return it in good condition. The vehicle I had was definitely used a long time with 100k miles but it worked for a small project. The ramp was critical and made my unloading a toolbox a breeze.
Only had 1 trailer and 1 10 foot box truck, but they had what I needed.
