Luna OliveraI intended to rent the van for only one day, but while moving, (which was the purpose for the rental,) I fell and hurt my knee. Because of the emergency, I was unable to drive for a bit. This resulted in me being late. The agent called and started screaming at me that I was supposed to return the van. I explained what happened, apologized, and assured her that it would be back before she opened the next day. I assured her that I knew I would be responsible for paying the extra day. When she hung up, I thought we had an understanding that I simply had an emergency and would be returning it that night. Until, that is, I got an email that the van had been reported stolen. I got an call from a district U-Haul trying to retrieve the vehicle. When I explained to that gentleman what happened, he was understanding. It was returned that night, as promised. UHaul is a very important business for those who can't afford or don't want to waste the money on movers. The company Uhaul, overall, is a good company (based on my experience). I will likely use Uhaul again, but I will definitely NEVER use that location.
Teri KanuI saw the location had availability so decided to just go there to rent but then the customer service rep said she can't actually make a reservation, we'd have to do so on the app. So I stood there going through all your up-selling to make a reservation on my phone. Then, the mobile app would not work to do the check-in, so I had to call the national office (wait on hold for a while) and have the reservation converted to be checked in by the counter staff. But then she couldn't scan my husband's license either (a normal Virginia license) so I ended up having to drive even though we would have preferred he drive -all because your technology does not work. So what should have been a 10-minute transaction took more than 30 minutes - which she then indicated would come out of my 2-hour reservation. (How ridiculous!) Then, I confirmed the mileage because it matched one number on the dashboard but later learned that was the "trip mileage" not the odometer, but then the staff used the odometer (12 miles higher) when I returned the vehicle, so I had to pay for 12 more miles than I what I actually drove. Plus, the drivers side rear tire was showing very low pressure, which is not good for alignment of the vehicle and demonstrates lack of care and attention. Overall - this was a terrible experience. If I can find someone else to rent from next time, I'll surely try an alternative.
