Customer service wasn’t very friendly. I never received a call for confirmation. The pick up location was changed and I was not notified, causing me to be late for pick up and I was charged additional fees that were out of my control and I was not at fault. I will not be using U-Haul again.

The employees at this location did an excellent job. In fact, had it not been for their efforts I probably would have rented a van from some where else. The virtual verification process failed. Moreover, it's more than a little embarrassing to have to provide secondary phone numbers in order to rent a van. I'm a 52 yr old man with good credit and I felt like I needed a cosigner to rent a van I understand the need to protect your business from theft, but humiliating customers isn't the solution to your problem.

I had the worst UHAUL experience EVER. I had set a pick-up for one location over the phone and customer service told me that they have made it and when I went to check for my reservation they said I did not have any. Turns out that whoever I spoke to misspelled my name making my info inaccurate. I talked to two different customer service representative just to CORRECT MY INFO. Once they finally corrected my info and I FINALLY got my log-in set up online I had to change my pick up location and I was told this could be done on the website. I did just that and was given a confirmation number and everything for a cargo van for a one-eay trip. I WAS TOLD PREVIOUSLY THAT CARGO VANS DO NOT GO ONE-WAY BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I TALKED TO SAID IT COULD SO SHE BOOKED ME FOR THAT. The day I needed the UHAUL and got to the location I have confirmation for - they said I DID NOT HAVE A RESERVATION AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TYPE OF VEHICLE I NEEDED. The nice lady in this Vacaville UHaul location said she found the vehicle I needed in Fairfield UHaul 5 mi. away and they can help me. She made my reservation and we proceeded in that Uhaul Location in Fairfield JUST TO FIND OUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE I NEEDED. I had to rent a 9’ truck. Given that they gave me the same rate for the cargo van for the 9’ truck i still lost since the 9’ truck is a v8 and eats up more gas. And The truck they gave me was wrong. The milage was incorrect and the gas tank was not filled up all the way. Good thing I noticed right when I pulled out of the lot and had to stop on the side to take a picture and called that uhaul location right away to notify them. I was highly inconvenienced and frustrated. This WHOLE PROCESS ate all of my morning up instead of just having the truck I needed and doing what I needed to do for the day. I had to miss work that late afternoon which I could have made in time if everything just went as planned and scheduled. I had to spend more than I was expecting and I had to reschedule everything around UHAUL. THANK YOU FOR COSTING ME EXTRA THIS HOLIDAY ????

Too long a story for this but the employee at this location was not trained for the job he was tasked with performing that day. He was a nice guy and did his best but he was totally lost. The line was not long but he was in so far over his head that I spent about an hour with him trying to find any record of my storage reservation. I finally called the 800 number, and the agent helped him to find my reservation, and THEN I found out that the first month of free storage did not meet my needs. The whole thing was incredibly frustrating, and a huge waste of time - after a long, stressful & exhausting day. Your employees MUST advise customers about the size of that free space. No, I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. It was a nightmare.
