I will have to say, the first time I came in and rented there it was a decent experience and then the second time I received the worst Uhaul experience that I have ever had. I do rent from you a lot, I just will not rent from this location anymore.

Small location. Once trucks are returning to location parking is limited for customer's. It can be very dangerous for other customers arriving at location. Need more parking spots

Shovel the parking lot!... They 100% knew they had a customer coming at 6:30 am.. Did nothing to help that customer be able to leave the parking lot... I didn't start the truck until 6:50 didn't leave the lot till 7:10 ... That's very poor customer service.. My truck was not the size I reserved almost 3 weeks ahead.. Was told I'd get a $50 credit on the reserve to credit card...still haven't. Of course I'll have to call and do 10-20 minute conversation... Just to receive a credit I was already told would be there... I've used this service plenty of other times and I've never been treated so poorly

For drop off, your website would not let me select the location I wanted to drop it off at. When the U-Haul representative called me, they kept trying to get me to drop if off, where I did not want to drop it off, but finally relented and let me drop it off at my preferred location.

The employee that assisted us was rude. She didnt great us... she was busy on the phone. Did not explain the service well. I was very disappointed. I have used this service before and received excellent service. Please remind the female employee that assisted me to remember customer service.

I asked for a car dolly and was told that there was one at this location. I asked again to make sure that it was a dolly not a trailer and was told it was a car dolly. I have a trailer of my own but I didn’t want to drive three hours to get it. I was charged more than I was told over the phone and ended up with a trailer not a car dolly. There was one in the corner but was told that they are all taken. It is very frustrating when I made it clear what I wanted and didn’t get what I wanted.

When I registered the internet said there was a vehicle available in ankeny. There was not. I had to drive 20 miles to get the truck. There and back put 40 extra miles. You also charged me for a hand truck. The internet would not let me remove. I think I left my van keys in the uhaul trailer. Please let me know.

Terrible experience with customer service. The van was old, not well maintained, and dirty. Outside mirrors required hand adjustment and would not stay in place. The doors had to be locked manually (no remote) and sometimes all doors would not lock, prompting to manually lock each door individually. Tires were deflated with an error message on the dash. I've rented from uhaul before and the van was in excellent shape. Combined with poor customer service, I won't be renting from this location again.

The person that I was communicating with signed us up for a dolly at an additional charge of $7 per day. I never asked for one, nor did she ask if I wanted it. It’s a cheap shot to make an extra $14. Also when she went over the reservation and check out for the U-Haul, she purposely did not state that the dolly was added for extra. Be sure to check each column for charges or you may be dooped from their unethical upselling. Will not return.

We dropped off the trailer on Friday. On Saturday evening I received a voicemail that we had not returned it. After a 15 minute phone call, they located it and the situation was corrected. Need better method to return equipment. He didn’t even look at our documentation.

I rented a motorcycle trailer from the U-Haul on Merle Hay Road. I went over to the U-Haul on Southeast 14th Street in Des Moines because I have a storage shed their. I went to pick up my motorcycle I parked my truck with the trailer open in front of the door I went inside the storage and opened up my unit I began to pull out my motorcycle as I was pushing my motorcycle out of my storage one of the gentleman that work at the front came in and told me with an attitude that he took the trailer off my truck and put it back because I had an Explorer which was a old Explorer and it was supposed to be an expedition. If I wanted my money back I needed to go back to where I got the trailer from and then he walked right away did not let me speak or anything. I then went inside to speak to the gentleman again he was rude and told me what. I told him I needed my money back he said I told you go to where you got it from to get your money back because I lied about having an expedition. I never lied about having an expedition I actually use my Explorer to bring everything to that storage and I rented from that storage the U-Haul trailer for the motorcycle when I brought my motorcycles into that U-Haul Storage. It's in the records. I never lied about having an expedition. He continued being rude and I told him it's called customer service you look at someone in the face you speak to them and then you wait for a reply. It's his job is customer service. I have it all on video also. Then I go over to Merle Hay excuse me I called the Merle Hay U-Haul where I actually rented the motorcycle trailer from. I went to speak to them about the whole situation the same young lady that rented me the U-Haul answer the phone as I started speaking to her about the situation she cut me off and told me well you changed your order when you came in. I began to tell her I never changed it and as I started to explain to her what happened she hung up on me. I called back she picked up I ask for supervisor the supervisor came on and spoke to me. He was lied to in the first place from Southeast 14th Street Uhaul they told him that I still had the trailer. When the gentleman actually unhook the trailer himself without asking while I was inside moving my motorcycle. Now the manager refunded me my money for the rental and he said he will handle the store on Southeast 14th Street and he will also handle the young lady at his store. But at the end of the day I've used you all before in different states this is the worst I've ever been treated. Very disrespectful. On two different stores. I will be taking out my storage and will not use U-Haul again.

I backed up to the trailor, the employee hooked everything up and checked my lights. I pulled away and drove a hour away in icy conditions. When i reached my destination, i found out that the hitch wasnt screwed down to my ball hitch. This could have been a fatal accident waiting to happen. I told the employee when i got back.to the shop. All i got was a sorry. Sorry i could have a accident and possibly killed myself or another driver following me or beside me. Sorry, really.
