I had an emergency situation where my leasing office pretty much cut my days by accident so I had to change plans and move out earlier then excepted. This of course made me anxious considering I work 3 jobs. The woman I spoke to that reserved my uhaul was a extremely nice but when I went to pick it up I dealt with Caleb negri who was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a customer service position. I told him my situation and that I was distressed. He then proceeded to treat me like complete crap. He raised his voice at me, then told me he doesn’t have to actually give me the uhaul because I was a jerk... when I was distressed not towards him but my situation. I stood there with tears in my eyes and he said “do you have a problem because like I said I don’t have to give you the uhaul” when I literally did not say a word. I have a friend who witnessed everything and she had to step in to try to calm him down from yelling at me further after I was crying at this point and told him I’m distressed due to my situation. He eventually gave me the uhaul and even while showing the uhaul he was extremely aggressive...when I went back I asked for his name and he told me his name was steve and then attempted to apologize AFER making my day even harder. I then tried to call to get the corperate Number he hung up the phone after asking “is this Sanja” and telling me my friend dropped her credit card. When my friend went to get her card she asked him for the number and he still refused to give her the corperate phone number. She explained to him that he was wrong on his end because he works in customer service and that you don’t antagonize people who are clearly going through something. This entire situation happened because I said I didn’t have my new address on me, and because I asked what the 2nd address was used for. I completely understand he was trying to do his job but calling someone a jerk, yelling at someone who’s clearly already in tears, speaking to them aggressively, and threatening to not provide service due to me being sad, and being completely disrespectful is not okay or professional.

The one thing that I found quite aggravating and nearly ruined our entire move experience was the moving blanket situation. I ordered, a month in advance, 12 moving blankets and PAID for them as part of my total fee. I had several glass pieces of furniture, not to mention expensive wood pieces that needed to be covered. The store had SIX when we went to get the truck and the gentleman behind the counter said he couldn't do anything about it because they were on a first come, first serve basis. THANK GOODNESS there was another location, 2 miles down the road, where we were able to pick up another 12 moving blankets. We used every last one, and if we did not have them, it would have forced me to make multiple trips, resulting in multiple swear words, a fight with my partner, and probably me lashing out at your wonderful customer service representative. This was a near disaster and I HIGHLY suggest that Uhaul do something about it - like now. Next time I move, I may look elsewhere for a company that can guarantee moving blankets because I am not dealing with the near heart attack I had on Saturday morning again. They were late so the appliance store loaded the appliances, but I got charged for the trip to the store. They attempted to take my refrigerator in without measuring the door. This resulted in the door handle being broke and the refrigerator scratched. They left for 45 minutes with all of the appliances sitting on the sidewalk. Once the appliances were in they left at 12:15 without putting the doors back on the refrigerator so over $300 in food was ruined. I had to hire another mover to finish unloading the appliance so I could return the truck. After leaving at 12:15 in the afternoon someone returned at 11:38 at night to put the refrigerator back together. My floor was damaged and the refrigerator doors are not straight. The owner indicates he would return to fix the door, fix the floor and level the refrigerator but I never heard from him again. I was charged $234 and all that was done was some appliances taken off a truck into my home and the ones in the home loaded. Because the guy left the job unfinished I paid to have the others unloaded. But what I paid in minimal to the cost of all the damage done to my property.

I only say no to equipment being clean and well maintained because the side doors/cup holders had trash in them. I did not want to get charged for anything so I cleaned them myself.

The truck was one of the shittier vehicles I’ve ever driven. The alignment was thoroughly off, there were no power locks, no auxiliary cable, the driver arm rest was broken- the A/C worked great.
