The location is not where I requested for the pickup and I had to drive further for this location. THe wipers were in poor shape and I had to drive in rain that day and it made for very unsafe driving conditions.

I booked movers through I haul and the movers backed the truck poorly and broke our headboard. The truck was great though, I just wish the movers were more professional.

U haul is the standard in rental vehicles, no disputing that,but your dishonest when quoting the price. You should be above sucking the customer with any given quote ,only for the customer to find out its another hundred bucks after you charge exorbitant price for insurance and tax the crap out of us .just include that information in the quote.God we are all on a budget of some kind or another,it makes your company look like snake oil salemen,just be up front

I reserved a 10 foot truck on July 23. I was emailed on August 3 that my truck was not available at that location and I would have to drive 20 miles to get the same truck. Notification should have been made a lot sooner. I was able to secure a 15 foot truck from the same location which was helpful but more truck than I needed.

Sign-in was tremendously slow. And although the truck was [somehow] "triple booked," I was the first to arrive & take possession. Given that I had a guaranteed reservation, why would this even be an issue?!

The truck was not clean. We started our drive down south early in the morning by mid afternoon we went to use the air conditioner and it didnt work. Drove 1300 miles with out air and the engine smelt like antifreeze.

Not only were all four tires grossly over-inflated (80+ vs. 60 on door sticker) by 25psi cold, but upon further inspection I found the inner tread on both front tires to be bald! [over-pressure + thin/missing tread + wet pavement = injury or death] !!!

Guy was rude. Said he didn't have our reservation before he even asked our name! Refused to even look at our contract. Eventually found us,no apology.



The representative, Ian, who assisted me was excellent. He worked with me for what I needed from start to finish & I was very pleased. Very professional & friendly. Making a good name for U -Haul!!

My initial contact with this U-Haul location (Ace Hardware, Delaware Ohio (the old Buehler's Grocery location)) was good. But when I returned the rented truck later that afternoon, I was treated rude enough to cause me to re-think any future rental needs I may have (I've probably rented 8-10 times over the last several years). When I returned the truck, I also wanted to return a package of unused furniture pads. I was told that there would be no refund. When I asked why, the counter person stated that it was "in the contract". No where in the 3 page contract does it state "no refund on unused furniture pads". I pointed out that earlier that morning, when I rented the truck, I was asked if I needed pads, and after learning there are 6 in a package, I asked for 2 packages. I only used 1 package, so I wanted to return the unused pack. To me, it is the same as when I was asked how many miles I expected to drive, to which I replied 50. Since I did not drive 50 or more, then I am not charged for the miles I didn't use. What's the difference between not using the projected number of miles driven vs. expecting to use 2 packs of pads but only using 1? Seriously? First he said it was in the contract, which it's not. Then he moved some items around on the counter, which covered up a sign that he used his pencil to rudely tap on. It said $25 additional charge if the pads weren't folded and the truck wasn't swept out. Was I supposed to move things around on the counter to make sure I read all of the signs on the counter? Of course, then it was pointed out that the same sign is in the back of the truck. Sorry I missed it. Next, it was "U-Hauls policy, call the 1-800 number". Then, after some confusion over the odometer readings and them trying to figure out how I drove over 40,000 miles in less then 8 hours, a second clerk had retrieved the used pads from the rear of the truck and brought them in (6 pads) to the counter. During the incompetent confusion, I began folding the used pads, to which I was told to "stop, that since they were now in the building I couldn't do that". Then I was told they would "forgive" the $25 fee for not having folded the used pads before returning them. Hey U-Haul, or Ace Hardware, how about some customer service training? Maybe I'm just old school, but how about teaching that the customer comes first? Geez, how about showing a senior citizen a little respect? I didn't think I was asking for too much, considering that a package of pads only costs $6 ?? Only $6. Had I been treated differently, I may not have acted rude in return. Maybe my voice would not have been as loud. But the way I was treated, it was enough to make me go out of my way to make this complaint, and as I said, rethink my future rental needs. 6 dollars.???
