Originally my drop off was Campus Dr. Newport location. It was closed. There was no space to park the truck and no gate access. After 45 minutes of phone time with inefficient Uhaul personnel, I was asked to return at a different location. Also, gasoline level at pick up was well overestimated.

I was surprised by how filthy the moving bins we rented were. We’re not going to eat off them, but a quick rinse of a hose seems like a simple step U-Haul could take.

Would be nice to have 2 people to check in customers at the opening of the day. I arrived early but still had to wait while the only clerk was working with a customer from scratch.

The pamphlet given for after-hours drop off states it will cost "20.00 for after hours drop-off", yet it was told that it was for no cost. I was not charged, but after a long day of loading/unloading, it was a bit frustrating to deal with the contradicting information. Also, the larger trailer was difficult to 'lift' off the ball after towing. I thought I had to use the crank jack to lift the trailer off the ball, but couldn't figure out how to release it (not like my boat trailer or any other trailer I have experience with), so thank goodness another late hour dropper offer was there to assist. It took three strong people- I could not have done it on my own and should probably be told that (I was told it is a simple release). Also- parking at the location didn't seem clear. Signage told us to drive to the rear, but upon checkout, the clerk told me to park it by the bay I received it from. Again, after a long day, it was not clear with certainty. These are little things that I have learned and will ask about upon my next rental, but perhaps could help someone else.

It's very hard to get in/out of this location if you drive a car there. There's a turnaround drive-way, but no room to park your car in order to pay, so cars will block each other and people can't get in/out. Having space for customers to park their own cars while they pay would be extremely helpful. Service is very slow as well.

Production machine and not for customer experience. The truck was filthy and we couldn’t see out of the windows. But you make it a point that the bed is clean and return it clean. Parking lot sucked and there is no where for customers to park!! I will NEVER come to this place. Look at yelp!! I will absolutely make sure people hear this. Where has customer service gone!! Call me.

Nick working at the front desk was incredibly rude to say the least! There is no parking so you have to park your car around the corner. Big hassle! The guys working outside checking out and receiving the truck were great and very professional. Nick at the front desk needs to take some tips from them!

Originally , I was suppose to pick up truck and car carrier at my local U-Haul in Lake Forest, 92630 (10 minutes away). Arrived at appointment time and told due to equipment problem I would have to go to Costa Mesa 92627 to pick up equipment. I was told I would get a $50 discouint for the inconvenience. It took 25 additional minutes to get to Costa Mesa, Rented truck and went home to load. Another trip to Costa Mesa (25 additional minutes) to get car carrier and $21.00 extra dollars to have car loaded. I couldn't get started for my destination until 1:50 pm, 2 hours later than planned. Friday afternoon traffic added more than 90 minutes to trip. What should have been approx 2 hours ended up being a 3 and 1/2 hour slow drive. Arrived in Helendale after 5 pm. It was closed. Worst U-Haul experience in my life.

Pick up at 9am was a cluster. There was no parking so people were blocking the exits and others couldn’t get out. We had mobile pick up but the dolly we reserved wasn’t in the truck so we had to find someone to help and then found out we paid for it but it was never reserved, so he had to go through the process to get it rented. The day workers were crowding the entrance and were SUPER aggressive.

Very small to drive 26ft truck in and out, had drive back and fourth. Wouldn’t recommend renting 26ft truck from this location..
