The guy was 20 minutes late opening which put us behind in out move. I was told the truck would have a ramp but the truck has no ramp, no lift. We had a refrigerator and large furniture so that made it very hard. The attendant seemed very inexperienced.

The agent at this location DID NOT have appropriate knowledge and was unable to give answers to a variety of questions (ie: appropriate use of the "tow/haul" function, if tire pressures had been checked, if oil level had been checked, etc). I have expressed my concerns to the U-Haul agents at the receiving end of my trip (In Glendale, AZ) and have left a message for the Area Field Managers' office to discuss my concerns regarding this agent AND the problem I had with the truck. The truck clearly needs to be assessed mechanically because there is an extreme amount of heat that is coming into the cab of the truck from the engine compartment and there was no way to adjust or fix it. It was so hot in the cab of the truck that I had to drive 8 hours with both windows rolled all the way down, which made it loud and I was being blasted with wind the entire way, and I was still hot!! It was ridiculous, inconvenient, and uncomfortable, to say the least!!! If I do not hear back from the above listed office, I will be calling U-Haul customer service to discuss.



Don't mislead the price of online quote. More than $300 difference of online quote. And when I called to ask about it the phone line was very rude. I have always used uhaul but I will never use them again. I will pay more not to use uhaul just because of bad customer service.

Very small operation, but the customer service representative was professional, better than I've experienced at some other U-Haul locations. The, vehicle was almost new.



Make the 'U-HAUL' sign outside bigger, or more noticeable b/c I drove past it twice. Also, it is not immediately obvious that you have to park at the Travelodge motel, then walk inside to get business done. I looked for the usual U-HAUL 'yard' with orange vehicles, and I simply saw so few that I drove past the place b/c of that, also.

The location and the service from this location was way above and beyond! First, when I got there to pick up my moving van, the UHaul system was down and would not accept my payment. The gentleman working, Sam, did everything he could think of to solve the problem. When he called Uhaul they told him too bad, he could not rent the truck out. Since he didnt want me to have to find another truck when I was all ready to get started moving, he kept wokring with them and eventually the system accepted my payment. THEN, when I returned the truck, I left a photo of my son and his football team in it. He did not know which truck it had come out of, but the back of the photo still had our phone number on it, so he called and held the picture until I could come pick it up. This was SUCH a refreshing experience in our fast moving, impersonal times . . .thank you to SAM at American Eagle Car Rental in Costa Mesa CA ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Please make sure the President of UHaul knows about this guy!

I got a Vehicle which the person claims to be Brand New, but it was dusty, and filled with smell. The spare tire was not pinned properly and i felt that it will dislodge any time while driving. While Refueling the vehicle, after 1.45 Gallon suddenly gas started leaking and i dont know why. When i again tried then also same thing happened.



Would prefer to return the Rental truck to a closer location. I have a location less than a mile from my home. I was advice there would be a charge if not returned to location from where the rental was picked up.

Mixed bag location with limited hours. Greatest asset was they called me back immediately and made sure I was cared for, my move went well, Thank you!



We could not find this location and spent 35 minutes driving around looking for "U-Haul" sign. I called New Years Eve and someone called me back only to tell me that it was located inside the Travel Lodge Motel. It would be helpful to have a U-haul logo sign for people who are not familiar with Costa Mesa, CA and driving around in the dark. This person also charged me for going over the mileage. We were over the mileage by 1.3 miles; we would not have been over the mileage had they had a sign!



My confirmation was for 8:00am and no one was there until 10:00am. This mix up cost me additional 2 hours in labor. I was promised a $50 refund from customer service. I have not seen that yet.

No one answered the phone. We could not find the location and even the main number couldnt tell us how to get there- then when we finally found it they didnt even have our reservation. Next we needed a hand truck when we got to our drop off area and the operator said they were open until 7 so we drove another 1/2 hour to pick up hand truck but location closed at 5 so wasted an hour of time and added 15 miles to our trip- and the list goes on.

I requested moving blankets and a dolly and they didn't have any. My order was placed online 3 weeks prior which should have been plenty of time to get the equipment I needed. I had to make a stop at a different uhaul location to get the items I needed. Highly doubt I will use any uhaul again due to this experience.



The pick up was fine! When I dropped the truck off in Costa Mesa, 1400 Bristole. The attendant Mr. Bahi was very rude and unprofessional. He made me go and fill the tank up even though it was filled at the level I picked up. Then when I returned he refused to take the truck back. Told me to go to another location. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have called to report him and was told by your customer service some one would call me. No one has called. I want my money back and this gentleman written up.



Sam was rude and is not good with customers or issues. He made it seem that it was the customers fault that the truck didnt have a/c. Truck rented had broken a/c, I notice that the a/c was not working when I arrived in Palm Desert, 100 deg out. I did call it in and made notes to the 800 number. I've rented 30 times from UHAUL and hands down this was the worst customer experience ever. Sam kept saying that he wasn't making much money on the van so there wasn't anything he was able to do. I advised him that I didn't make the prices and that he needed some customer skill training. Really really bad experience. What now? What should I expect from this? Hope the person reading this understands that I'm in customer relations and have never written anything like this before. Have a great day. Scott



There was no issue picking up the truck but when i returned the truck it was very difficult to park the truck back in the spots behind the motel due to limited space. Also i was charged $36 for a fuel surcharge. When i dropped off the truck it was at 1/2 of tank and that's what it was supposed to be returned at. I get a bill stating it was a little less than 1/2 of tank. That was incorrect. Not happy at all being charged the fuel surcharge



Only issue I had - I thought the price to rent the truck one way was a little high, other than that a great experience



The sign for American Eagle Car Rental is very small compared to the motel sign above it. We completely missed it the first time we passed by. Better signage would be nice.
