The truck was very difficult to drive. The steering wheel was very loose and made the handling of the truck very difficult. Otherwise the truck was clean.

My suggestion is you rent vehicles that meet basic advertised mileage standards. Unless U-Haul gave me a truck that wasn't full, the pickup I rented got 9.6 MPG, which is ridiculous. After driving 48 miles, it took over five gallons of gas to fill it back up per your requirements. Hummers get better mileage. I don't like that you charge people mileage *and* for gas, but understand you rationalize the former by saying it has to do with wear and tear on the vehicle. It still amounts to a near duplicate charge based on distance. If you're going to do that, at the very least, your vehicles should get the bare minimum average city MPG. For a Silverado that's between 15 and 18MPG. I realize that getting terrible fuel mileage doesn't matter to U-Haul if you aren't paying the cost but at the very least it's unethical. I had the truck for four hours and it cost me $52 (paid to U-Haul, and without insurance) plus more than $15 in gas. So the $19.95 truck ended up costing close to $70. I told the person who checked the truck back in and she said that sounded odd and she'd look into it then walked off. Finally, I rarely respond to corporate surveys and when I do I'm not one to complain but I was glad to receive the email link for this one since it gives me the opportunity to tell you I'll do everything I can to avoid ever renting from U-Haul again. Courteous employees etc. do not make up for a pricing structure that more than triples the advertised rate for a rental.

I am your customer for many years , staff Was good but Truck was very old and dirty Windshield Specially Inside the glass wasn’t cleaned for a year or more . Why did they give a truck an old truck that I drow 1200 miles . It was a dangerous drive for me . Please get rid of This truck . Before some gets hurt

This was the third location that I had to go to get the trailer that I reserved. When I made my online reservation, the location was close to where I was going to be, about 15 minutes away, then the next day I received an email telling me that I had to go to another location, which was somewhat closer, but the time I had to pick up the trailer at was at 9:30, and I had requested 3 pm due to my timing in the area, driving 3+ hours to Cedar Rapids. I called this location and left a message asking if I could pick it up at 3, and nobody returned my call. Apparently this new location closed at 10am, which no one informed me so I couldn't make accommodations to pick it up. So then my reservation was moved to a location 30 minutes away, adding an hour to my drive just to get the trailer instead of the 15 minutes I had set up online. Why make a reservation, get confirmation, and then have it constantly moved around. Why was the initial location confirmed if I couldn't get the trailer? Very unhappy with how Uhaul jockeys locations around. The poor rating is not due to Coralville, they were great. The rating is due to the constant shuffle of locations to get the trailer that I had requested and had confirmation for.

I am unhappy that I was supposed to return truck to another location 31 miles away rather than the contracted return location. This points out to me that Uhaul cares less about customer needs.

Not change drop off locations after the reservation has been made, booked to drop off in Solon. Instead had to go to Coralville a half hour away and use more gas.

The windshield on the truck was cracked when I got in it. I called immediately and was told that they knew that; that it had x's on it. Two things, if U-Haul decides the cracked windshield is safe enough for use, they should at least tell the customer as part of the check out process. Secondly, I'm not sure a vehicle should be checked out with a cracked windshield.

I had the luxury to choose a date and time to make the reservation and pick up the vehicle when I thought it wouldn't be busy and I was correct. Therefore, both making the reservation on the phone and making the actual pickup was timely, efficient and smooth. I've used this place before and the vehicles have always been good. If the pickup or drop-off times are busy, however, you can wait so just be prepared. Otherwise this location will have almost anything you need to make a move.
