I received a confirmation email that they had the vehicle I requested but one of the employees called and notified me that they did not have a vehicle available. The employee said that they have had a history of their U-Hauls being double booked on the website and other problems.

Extremely easy pick up, and manager is very helpful. Trucks are all prepared and ready to be driven straight out upon arrival so there is no hassle for the driver to try and maneuver the truck.

Rental pickup time changed at last minute, drop off time wouldn't be asjusted. Threaten and talked over when I was trying to ask questions and I then hung up on me. Then found out that the check out location was different from pick up location when no one was at pick up location. Had to call to find out where to go. Very bad experience

The lady in the office at short north storage was fantastic!! She was slammed with customers and some was very rude and she handled it like a pro. Uhaul had slammed her with reservation on top of reservation and while i watched she was professional and kind. Uhaul should praise her for the great job she did handling the mess they created for her. I had to wait a few but it was ok due to the situation but she helped and got me out the door with a smile. They have no respect to their customer and do not know how to communicate. I made an 8-hour truck rental reservation online and when I arrived at 11am, the reservation didn't show up on their system. So they resolved it by creating a new reservation. I thought it would be an 8 hour rent based on what I reserved online. At about 2 pm, they call and threaten me to return the truck before 3 pm even if I told on the move and couldn't finish until 5. What they told me is just their is another customer lined up at 3pm and they told me that I MUST return the truck at 3pm or I will be in trouble, which really annoyed me because I thought it was an 8 hour rental. I called U-Haul customer service and the representative said I was correct and will let this store know. So I kept moving without worrying more about it. At 3pm they called me again, threatening me that I was already late and I will be responsible for being late. They even changed my reservation from 1 day to 2 days and my credit card was charged another $37. I think it is just a misunderstanding on how many time my rental is. When they create a new rental for me, it might not be an 8-hour rental. They could have just asked me politely and explain to me what happened and consider my situation and give me some possible solutions, rather than threatening me or telling me what I must do which lights the fire.

I tried to rent a U-Haul truck and had a miserable experience for the following reasons: 1. I had to remotely check in and inspect the vehicle before driving it. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that it took 20 minutes to inspect because there were so many scratches and dents on the truck that were not reported and not marked with an "x" sticker. 2. Every time I tried to send a picture of my drivers license the website crashed and sent me back to the beginning of the check in process. 3. I called customer service and she was very unhelpful. The only solution she offered was to use the app for the check in. So I spent another 20 minutes on the inspection again and got to the drivers license part only to have the app crash. She offered to transfer me to someone who could schedule me another appointment and then she transferred me back to the beginning options of the 1-800 number. 4. How do you rely on an app that functions so poorly? It got 2 stars on the App Store and I knew that it was going to be an issue. If you're going to offer the trucks to be rented outside of business hours then the process should be just as smooth. I also talked to another person after my incident who had the same exact issue with the app. Its ridiculous. 5. You charged me $46.08 for a rental that I never even got the chance to use. How does the customer service rep not make a note to not charge me? She knew I wasn't using the vehicle. Also, how do I get charged for driving it 10 miles when I never even held the key in my hand? Not to mention I declined the $14.00 coverage at least 10 times and was still charged for it somehow? I NEED A FULL REFUND ASAP. Honestly, your entire service was embarrassing. If you cared anything about your potential customers you would give me a promo code for free uses in the future.

I called U-haul to ask a question about self pick up and the customer service experience through U-haul was horrendous. I was transferred between three different people with no help, put on hold for more than 20 minutes and then mid conversation of your employees hung up on me. Thanks U-haul! The Short North Stage location was great and the employee was nice and helpful. You should consider scouting her to work for U-haul because your employees are the WORST.

I was double charged for my rental two separate times. The first time, the manager corrected the mistake while I was still at the rental location. The second time was after I has returned the truck and had left and when she called to tell me I had been overcharged and gave me the actual amount I was told the mistake was corrected and the right amount would be on my receipt. That evening I got an alert from my bank that my account was over drafted which didn't make any sense because I had made sure that there was at least $15 extra on my card than what the estimated charge was in case it ended up costing more than the estimate. When I checked my statement I had not only been charged a completely different amount than what was on my receipt or even the amount that had been erroneously charged but corrected initially. There was also a second charge to my card for $.97 after the first incorrect charge that over drafted my account, which caused me to get charged two overdraft fees in addition to being charged $20 more than what was on my receipt. When I called the manager at the rental location I was told that there was nothing she could do on her end to fix it and that I had to call Uhaul to have it corrected. I called uhaul and was told that "the person who handles that is on vacation until Monday," which means that on top of being out over $20 of my money from being charged incorrectly in the first place, I also incurred $74 in overdraft fees and will be charged an additional $5 per day until "the person that handles that" can be reached on Monday. I lost over $100 because of someone else's mistake, and I have a feeling that just getting my money back from the original overcharge is going to be a difficult and irritating process and I highly doubt I will get compensation for the $74 in overdraft fees that I am now responsible, that shouldn't exist in the first place because of someone else's mistake. This mistake and lack of effort to correct it has caused me a huge amount of inconvenience and stress. I barely have enough money to get by as is and now I've lost my last $100 on top of having to worry about not being able to access my paycheck because any deposits to my account will automatically go to covering the negative balance that shouldn't even exist. If come Monday the uhaul employee who handles these matters corrects the issue and refunds the money I was overcharged in addition to reimbursing me for the overdraft fees I incurred solely because of their mistake, I will be more than happy to write another review singing Uhaul's praises. Until that happens however (IF it happens), I won't be recommending this location or giving them my patronage. I want my money, and I shouldn't have to wait for it.
