I made the reservation for pick-up of equipment at 11am and arrived at 11:15am. Prior to pick-up, I called Walton Automotive at 8am to ensure equipment availability and Hitch Ball size. At 11:05, I received a call from a UHaul representative (Ph number 803 667-9714) stating that Walton Automotive had called and that there was an emergency and they would be closed for the balance of the day. I told the representative that I had already called and confirmed pick up for that day. The representative put me on hold, stating that she needed to call the Walton Automotive. She then came back on the line, chastising me that I had scheduled the pick-up for 11am and that I was late and had no more than 20 min to get there. Upon arrival at Walton, I inquired as the the emergency. The two gentlemen looked at me with confusion stating there was no emergency and my equipment was ready. My question is why did I receive a call?

Excellent customer service but the truck was not too clean. Overall, I was very satisfied with my service.

The person that did my reservation on the phone was not pleasant and did not fully explain to me the process. She also did not explain to me that I would be charged substantially more if I didn't return to the uhual to the same location. Fortunately the gentleman who checked me in explained that I could save money by returning it to him. What he nor the person on the phone explained is that uhual charges people 7am to 7pm not from pick up time to the same time the next day. They were going to charge me an additional day because of this. The guy at Waltons automotive took care me, and made sure I didn't get charged more than originally quoted but it would be nice to not feel tricked when it comes to using your equipment.

the express reservation did not work

Made reservations 2 weeks ago that included 3 dozen furniture pads. Showed up this morning and was told they didn't have the pads to give me and I could call the other u-haul location 2 miles down the road. It shouldn't be on the customer the day of their move to find another means of getting furniture pads especially when the reservations were made well in advance.
