As far as I can remember he added the insurance without asking if I wanted it. I had refused it when I completed the forms on-line. I was in a hurry and didn't expect he would fill out a new application when I picked up the trailer at fast line instead of the location the computer had selected. I realized it after I was well on my way.

This review is based on my most recent U-Haul experience. I have never dealt with such inept people. I have never dealt with such a terrible company with no interest in actually assisting its customers. I order a truck online and received all the proper confirmation paperwork. I was sent a text the night before my pick-up confirming the pickup location. The text suggested I call the pickup location to confirm. I called the following morning when they reopened for the day and was told there were no trucks and that "they couldn't pull one out of thin air" and "good luck" when telling me I had to contact Uhaul directly. After 60 minutes with Uhaul the only resolution they had for me was to drive 92 miles (2 hours) away to get a truck. They offered no alternatives that were even comparable in size to the truck I needed. Nor did they offer a closer location, or to somehow get a truck closer to me. It is the day of my pick-up and two hours before I am to do so, and I am being offered a truck almost 100 miles from where I live, versus the 5 miles as was confirmed for my pickup location. This simply isn't any way to run a business. A customer based business based on reservations and confirmation. What is the point if they can't uphold their end of the bargain? Complete unacceptable! I wouldn't suggest ANYONE EVER USE UHAUL! They, and their dealers, don't care and don't want to take care of their customers.

This was the worst moving experience - courtesy of UHaul. I booked my truck well in advance and received confirmation closer to the rental date. On the day of the move - one which I drove 3 hours to assist with - I arrived to the location which was closed. Logging into UHaul was of no benefit since the location had not assigned a vehicle for self-pick-up. My options were to drive out of the area and absorb the cost for personal mileage, as well as significantly increase the UHaul's mileage. Over an hour past our scheduled pick-up time, an attendant arrived to the location, only to find out they did not - and claimed never had - a 15" truck as reserved and confirmed. I was left with a 10" truck - causing more than 1 trip. The complications from UHaul alone, set off a domino effect of issues related to timing - including those people who had volunteered (like myself) to assist in the move, approved window of time to move into to new location, etc. There was a great deal of stress caused to many people - all because of poor quality control and customer service.

No one was there when i showed up. i had to call customer support. A very nice and helpful lady called the local owner/operator and his boss. The owner said he didn't know i was coming, so he didn't come in to work that morning. I showed up for pickup at 9:00 AM. He showed up after 10. I wasn't on my way till after 10:30 AM. It could have been worse, but not the best way to start a move.

The "regular guy" wasn't on site for my pick up, and the clerk on duty wasn't trained on how to use the u-haul system. It took me close to an hour to pick up a 5x8 trailer for a reserved daily rental.
