Plan to have someone drop you off, as they don't let you park your car in their lot, while you're using the rental truck. This is the first time I ran into this situation.
Uhaul and the owner need too communicate on drop offs and pick ups. The owner was extremely kind but no one had any idea about my reservation. I had pick up at 9am and no one was there. I didn't get my UHAUL until 9:50 and that was after going back and forth multiple times between uhaul and the owner of the shop until they could figure it out. All this time I had a confirmation number, an email receipt and also booked this a week prior. They said none of that mattered. I had too give all my info and card payment over the phone even though I already did this a week prior when booking the UHAUL. I received no customer service for the inconvenience I went through. I had movers waiting at my house whom had too be compensated because they were sitting there for an hour and a half. Contacted uhaul- and you guys didn't get a crap at all. Never again will I ever use your company and my bill is being disputed by the bank.
We called the day of pick up to let the location in Clearwater know we were going to be late picking the truck up because my in-laws had their car break down on the way in. We also reminded him that Erin Bell is disabled and does not drive so she was paying for the truck, but needed to add a driver. The store owner said it was fine, since we selected 24/7 check in we didn't have to physically see someone, we could just add a driver when we checked in. We stated we may be an hour or more late. Again we were assured everything would be fine the key is in a drop box. We arrived and could not check in because Erin Bell was not there & it uses gps for check in, plus the reservation time was not changed so it was no longer available. After several phone calls and an additional 30 min wait, the store owner comes out. We try to flag him down for help. He rudely waved us off, avoided contact, and left. Thankfully someone at the toll free number ended up becoming available and said, oh he didn't change the reservation time? We said we called him to let him know we had to rescue someone on the side of the road and would be over an hour late. As frustrating as it was, we got through it, but only with two more phone calls to/from customer service. We noticed the tire was a little low, but just decided to go get air in the morning because we were two hours behind schedule, hot, and tired at this point. We had people waiting for us at the house to load it and they had been waiting an hour. We get home, began loading it, locked it, and went to bed. In the morning we finished loading it and noticed the tire was significantly low so we headed to the gas station for air. We get there and noticed a construction nail had been in there there the entire time. We call for roadside assistance and had to wait an additional 90 mins for someone to come out. THANKFULLY your representatives at the toll free number have been very professional and kind. They communicated well and reassured us each time we ran into an issue. The part that is frustrating is the store owner in Clearwater did not adjust the pick up time properly, which caused undue angst. He also didn't inform us that the reservation should be in the drivers name and the person paying should be the alternate contact, which seemed like it could have been a pretty easy adjustment prior to arriving for pick up since he knew the situation and that he was closing for the day so he wouldn't be available for assistance when we arrived. Then he set aside a truck with a tire that was damaged without checking it first. I understand he's running several businesses out of one location, but I would think he bears some responsibility for making sure the lot where the vehicles are being stored is clear of debris so customers aren't stranded on the side of the road for 90 mins waiting on roadside assistance before they ever get out of the city.
This location is a used car sales lot and is not in the best of neighborhoods. The owner of the car lot was in an extreme hurry to close up the shop and leave. Due to a very heavy rainstorm, we arrived at about 3:20 pm. After we did the paperwork the owner immediately locked up and left the property. Before he left, he advised us that due to his insurance we could not leave our cars on his property. We had two cars as my helper also drove his car. We would have been able to take one of the cars with us with no problem. But the U-Haul dealer told us we would have to park the remaining car in an unrelated, unsecured business across the street. Additionally, the dealer left the property so quickly I had not yet been able to walk across the lot to inspect the U-Haul truck before he left. Subsequently, upon my inspection, I found the check engine light was on and remained on during our entire move. Also, the seal had already been removed from the dolly in the back of the truck. I have been renting U-Haul trucks for more than forty years. This was not one of my better experiences.

Hard to say, I checked out on my phone. I didn't get the dolly I was supposed to get. The UHaul truck was in good condition, not spotless but clean enough I suppose.
Took us 1 hour to get our truck when we had a reservation because the place closed early and didnt tell us. We had to us the lock box and it was a long hassle. Equipment we paid for was not in the truck either.
I returned the truck on 2/2 at 2:30 pm-a day early. Had called the local number and he told me just to park it and drop the key in the box as they were closed. I called him back after dropping it off no answer. Called your 800 number to report the truck was returned and told all was ok. I Received a text message from UHaul at 11:30 am that truck was due back on 2/3 by noon today. Called local number and left message to call me back to confirm. Nothing. Received another text message at almost noon that truck was due back. I again called your 800 UHaul number to confirm the truck was returned and there should be no further charges. The representative Jamie also tried to call the Betty Lane location and did not reach anyone. She confirmed she spoke with the schedulers and noted my account but that the office on Betty Lane still had not closed out the reservation/return of the truck. This took a lot of my time and did not appreciate the lack of response.
After my reservation was transferred to another location the truck size I ordered wasn't even available, the location was poorly lit, dirty, and the locks to access the keys didn't even work
Not send people here, it is in the ghetto. On top of that the originial location in clearwater refused to rent us a 10ft truck because we were one way, he said he did not have any, when we went back to rent a dolly from him as the ghetto uhaul place (crown plaza) he sent us to did not have any he was renting trucks left and right. He was kinda rude and it seemed ridiculous that he would send us away like that. On a side note the other guy did not give me a recipt or offer to print one, no contract and he got my drop off location wrong so I ended up having to drive 27 minutes out of my way to drop off so the whole thing was a pain from the word go. I will be exploring different rental truck options for future rentals.
I will never use this location again. Complete airhead of a representative upon my arrival. It made complete sense when I came back to this location, with the truck key, and a second driver to take my car home (after hours) when the truck was unable to be pulled out cause of trucks and tow equipment in front of it. ?? AND they closed up early. Huge delay in my move as I went to get the truck at my convenience, since I had already paid for it, I thought this would be OK. I ended up needing t to go to another DEALER (these folks are not) for better service and a truck that I could pull off the lot and leave with. I WILL NEVER USE THIS LOCATION AND I HOPE TO NEVER DEAL WITH THE AIRHEAD I DEALT WITH AT ARRIVAL, EVER AGAIN!
Dropped it off the same day at the location linked with this number . 7275360531 and 2 days later got charged another 42 dollars for not returning it in time
Refused to give a paper contract. Did not seem to understand the process. My dad is a frequent renter of UHaul and he was with me and he agrees it was the worst rental experience ever.
When i drop off the truck no one was there i called the number u gave me no answer i just left the truck there and left its not my problem. Thats was so unprofessional
