Inside of the building was not accessible

Hard to rate fairly as I had an unusual experience. My pick-up was 7:00AM on Thursday, 10/13. U-Haul's computer system and phones were down. The truck was there but I had to wait 5 hrs for the GM to be able to release it to me since he couldn't do it in the system. There should be manual paperwork to alleviate this kind of wait if the system is down. Five hrs is a ridiculous amount of wait time! I had movers scheduled on both ends and had to keep calling them to reschedule. It was too late in the day to unload at the storage unit I rented so I had to move the backend of my move to Friday. This was not the fault of the location I used. Clint was great! The truck had been wrecked, but it was released to me anyway. The steering was horrible and it was difficult to hold the truck on the road due to excessive play in the steering. i kept having to make stops to adjust the side mirrors as they kept moving due to road conditions. Otherwise, things were good.

The truck had an absolute light on that beeped the entire 218 miles causing us to pull over three times. We thought it was going to stop on us. We had our truck reserved for 8 on the 12th and couldn't pick it up until 4:15. Ridiculous. Then I drop the truck off 11/2 and get charged for another day. I won't be paying it. Had you not delayed me and gave me a suitable truck, it would have been back on time.

I used this location before. The guy was nice, but I brought the truck back with the exact same amount of gas shown on my contract, but he said it was down 2 gallons! I even showed him the line marked on the contract, but he wouldn’t budge. The building has signage saying it is unsafe so they are working out of a trailer outside.

I was not informed that this was a self service location, there were no clear instructions on how to check in or get the truck I reserved. I spent 40 minutes trying to get the truck I needed. I had to prepay for miles so I had to guesstimate what I was going to drive. I’ve never had to deal with such a complicated pick up before. After I finally got checked in the lock on the truck was jammed so I had to get another truck which was more time wasted. The guy that assisted me was fine but I got an appliance dolly and he didn’t even offer to load it for me. I’m not incapable but it would have been nice. If the building is under construction that’s fine but moving is stressful enough without having to waste time trying to get into the truck. A heads up on the state of the location would have been greatly appreciated.

The worker on site was no help at all. He informed us to do the self check out. When I explained I had not done the self check out on purpose because I needed to switch the driver of the vehicle to my boyfriend he was NO HELP. He again explained "all information was online". This left us in the middle of nowhere, poor cell reception trying to fix this issue. Thank goodness your support line via phone were awesome! Angel helped us out so much. Again, just sad that the worker on site could not even offer any help and was dismissive to your customers. I have used U-haul before and had no issues. I would use your company again, just not this location.

I was told by another u-haul outlet that there were no motorcycle trailers available in the city (within 60 miles). I promptly went home and made a reservation at the more familiar Statesville Rd., Charlotte location where the service has always been excellent.

Quintan was very helpful and courteous. I told him about the other guy talking on his phone. He was disappointed that other UHaul people disrespected their customers like that. Also the hitch lock was rusty and he said the other guy shouldn't have given me that trailer.

I was hot and tired when I got there and asked if they had any water. They said they were out, but didn't even look. I would think that you would keep some cold water on hand for customers during hot months. Guess not.



The branch manager was very rude, when i called in to confirm my drop off time. I feel like the level of customer i recieved was below average and I didn't feel valued as a customer.

Computer was updating at the time of check in and it took almost 25 before he switched to another computer and within 5 minutes we were out of there. He should have switched to another computer sooner!



Location was busy upon rental and drop off but the customer service was excellent. When you have staff that was so friendly and accommodating you don't mind waiting the extra minute. Thanks Uhaul
