uhaul sent us to this location after the first reserved location didn't have our equipment. we arrived at 1:30 uhaul said they closed at 2pm. Noone was at the location, doors were locked even thou the open sign was lit up. so we waited on hold with uhaul for 15 min before being sent to yet another uhaul place. this place had the equipment but couldn't check us out because of some computer issue. uhaul stated on the phone we would be able to be checked out via paper but this particular locations manger was very very rude and told us he doesn't do anything by paper and told us to leave as he couldn't help us. uhaul then was able to get ahold of a regional manaher who sent us back to dirty south and would complete the process via phone and email. we got back to dirty south and realized the original size trailer we reserved was not available and we had to get the next size up meaning we also had to pay the extra for that size even thou it was not our fault. in the middle of checking out via phone the owner finally showed up and came out side and started to check us in after i already told him it was handled over the phone. I then asked him to help us hook up the uhaul as this one was bigger than the one I normally get. he helped us. we thought the uhaul trailer was attached right and everything as he said but when we got to our destination the uhaul trailer popped off the hitch and detached its self. thank god the trailer was only 1/2 full and also thank god it did not flip!! it took my bf and his friend to reattach it properly as i am pregnant and can not lift on it and that sucker empty is heavy enough. we realized after reattaching the trailer our selves how unsafe the uhaul originally was that the ball wasn't locked into the trailer at all one rough bump on the road could have caused alot of problems!! I have towed uhuals multiple times never had an issue so this was scary. when it popped off we were lucky enough to be at the house and not on the highway. anywho 2 hrs of driving around looking for equipment that had been reserved well in advance and talking to more than 4 customer service reps ( who were amazing patient and understanding btw) we finally got equipment. always beware of your trailer making sure it is safe because obviously these authorized dealers are not trained on how it should be hooked up.

The self serve mobile app is a great idea I think. The key was not where they app said it would be and the location was not aware of the process...my guess is this is just getting the kinks out of the new system.

Totally unsatisfactory to drive for 7 hours into town and be turned away from my first location by the manager Lance Sosebee (I was assigned this location by uhaul). Actually, he wasn't even there as he has an hourly employee told me I couldn't drop off my trailer there. He also wouldn't return my calls. And there was space on the lot, which was insult to injury. Exceptionally poor customer service at 6601 east independence blvd by the general manager. They told me to drive to the place that actually took my trailer in, which was Dirty South on independence boulevard. But it added 2 hours to my trip to do this.

First of all I ordered a 10ft from a specific location, it wasn't available there so they reserved it a location that was farther away. Then when I got to that location the 10ft wasn't even there. Had to use a 17ft but with it being farther away it added considerable amount of mileage. When I got the truck it was barely above a quarter tank, therefore I filled it back to that amount once I was done using it, but looking at the contract I was charged an EZ fuel charge of $17 which makes zero sense.

The two clowns at this pick up site had no idea what they were doing. They were clueless. It took an hour to get my trailer. In addition to that they overcharged me. I repeatedly declined insurance but, despite that, but felt the need to charge me for that anyways. In short, I'm not impressed.

I tried to return the trailer at 6601 Independence Blvd. in Charlotte on April 23rd. After waiting, the person scanned my ticket and told me that I could not return the trailer at that location. I then took the trailer to the "Dirty South " location which was not open. I am 61 years old with 3 ruptured discs in my back and had to unhook the trailer in the pooring rain and roll the trailer in to place. I put the receipt in the overnight return box and called Dirty South on April 24th. I was told everything was in order and that I would receive a confirmation email shortly. As I did not receive an email I again called Dirty South on April 29th and was told that that had completed what they needed to do and that I would need to call Uhaul. I called Uhaul and was told that "they probably just had not gotten around to it yet". I again explained that I had returned the trailer 5 days ago and asked her to call Dirty South. She put me on hold and did so. When she came back on she told me that the person at Dirt South was busy and would call me back later. I was never called but did eventually receive an email confirm of the trailer return. I assume that means that Dirty South finally got around to processing the return.I work in a customer service business and am a patient person but I feel this was terrible customer service. In the future I will avoid using Uhaul for rentals. This could have all been avoided if I had been allowed to return the trailer to the location at 6601 Independence Blvd which is in fact what I requested when I rented the trailer in Cary, NC.

Let me first say that the Area Field Manager (Lafayette) is amazing. He is the only reason that I decided to continue with U-Haul. The pick-up location lost the key to my truck, inconveniencing me and the other people helping me load the truck. Lafayette went out of his way (driving to the location on a Saturday) to resolve the situation. Overall, I could not, in good conscience, recommend this location to anyone.
