I actually am very frustrated; everyone was kind and respectful - however, my hitch installation was originally for Friday, 10/16 at 8am and I was told I needed to get my bolt holes rethreaded and bring it back at 5pm, which was an inconvenience but no problem. I then went to a mechanic, got the work done, came back at 5 only to be told that they still could not install my hitch due to a different problem, and to come back in the morning. I then came back Saturday morning at 8am and finally got my hitch installed and the trailer attached. I had to move out two days later than originally planned and missed work on Friday due to the fact that I had to drive all over town in the hopes they'd be able to install my hitch. I have to move again in January and to say I am hesitant about using U-Haul again would be an understatement.

My feedback would be for better communication being noted on accounts. For some reason, when I booked the uhaul it gave me two return dates. So I called a 1-800 number to confirm it was indeed the later return date. I was told a note on the account would be made. Saturday rolls around received a call from uhaul asking where the truck was and therefore had to explain the situation again. Then, received another call that Monday am asking why the truck hadn't been returned that my due date was showing a 2 day rental. And then again when returning vehicle. Having two phone calls, and explaining to three different people was very annoying to have to deal with. Notes on accounts and communication could of avoided this.

I expected that pads and furniture dolly would be in car, but realized that I should grab it by myself. Thanks to manager who explained the process. But on site it was not clear. As a result I forgot to take pads but still paid for them $5. My suggestion is to put everything in car, which customer will request - it will really helpful in terms of time.

I want to take a moment and let you know how impressed I was with the young man that runs the location at 1224 N Tryon St. Charlotte, NC. He was competent at his job and very efficient at taking of customers! I should have gotten his name, so that I could listed it here, I am sure you can find him. Take care of him, because he's worth every $ you pay him and more! We need more folk like him!

I had scheduled a 24/7 truck for 7am on Sunday. We arrived at that time, and I had checked-in online the previous day. However, when we got there we found out the truck was not setup for us. I eventually called U-Haul who contacted the manager. He eventually drove over to the pickup location l, but by that time we had wasted almost an hour. I appreciate them doing their best to make up for it and take care of us in the end, but the truck should have been setup already the day before.

They were extremely slow in helping customers, did not explain things well, had to keep asking same questions for an answer. She could not find a working 10 ft truck as we chose. Had to give a 12 ft truck which made our move harder because of the height off the ground. We added to our order online a furniture dolly and it was not in the truck. We had to walk back to uhaul place and ask for it. She said you are supposed to get it on your own outside the store. I said you did not explain that to me. She said, well I'm explaining it to you now. So rude. She went and got one and we had to lug it to the truvk put it in the truck. She wanted to charge me extra for insurance without explaining the extra charge or that we even had a choice. I questioned it and told her I had my own insurance. While she was waiting on us and finding trucks and keys she would stop walk over to other rep and start talking to her while we just waited there. We must have been in the uhaul place 40+ min. Just to get the truck. It made us late for our moving pickup of furniture. The u-haul location is just down the street from a village of homeless tents and garbage and homeless people. Awful location. There seems to be a serious lack of communication between central office/online customer service and the actual store reps. They were not prepared with a truck, lacked details and not forthcoming with info at the store. When I dropped off the truck the online rep said the Oakbiro location in NC was open until 5 pm. It was closed at 2pm when we got there. The truck shook if you went above 50 miles an hour. Can't even imagine driving out of state with the truck. Online customer is much better than in the store, however. The approach to the customer very nonchalant, with an a annoyed attitude. You have to ask lots of questions to get any answers. The customer seems more like an agrivation than important to the business. They almost look annoyed your there. So unimpressed. Highly likely to not use Uhaul again. Also. Don't put $19.99 ad for a 10 ft. Truck when there is no way you are getting the truck under $120 then extra charges, gas replenishment and various fees. Very misleading advertising. Next time I'll go to Penski or another truck service. Also there was no straps, cord or moving pads in the truck. There should be a few complimentary items on the truck...a dolly, etc.

In no way shape or form would I EVER recommend to a friend. They charged me for returning the truck late when I returned an hour and a half early. They charged me for cleaning when I spent half hour making sure it was spotless. And they charged me 30$ for 3 gallons of gas. This is a terrible experience!!

When I picked up the truck I was told I didn't have to turn it in until 5pm the next day. So I paid all I had to pay the only thing I would have to pay was the over mileage. When I go and drop the truck off they wanted me to pay to a extra day. Which I was told I didn't have to it was always on my paperwork 1 and and 6 hours I will never use Uhaul again and I've been using Uhaul since I went to college which was in 1987.
