I reserved a truck 5 miles from where I needed it. when I got there there were 2 trucks the size I wanted on the property. I was told they were reserved for other customers and I would have to wait. After waiting 35 minutes I was told I could rent a truck less than 10 miles from where we were. the driving distance turned into almost twice that. The people there were nice and extremely friendly, but it still took me 25 minutes to rent the truck. At this point I had lost an hour plus of time and was 10 miles from where I wanted to be. The reason I am so upset is because when I arrived at my original location there were 2 trucks of the size I reserved, but they were assigned to someone else. How come I was the unlucky one that's truck was not turned in on timed? It seems to me that you give the truck to the first person that claims it.

Stephen JThis was not our original pick up location, our original did not have the size truck we reserved, we had to go with a smaller truck so that we were not traveling a hour or more outside of our home. Our reservation was not set up for mobile check in/pick up so we had to sit on the phone for over an hour to get it fixed so that we could get the keys. We did not get the dolly or furniture pads we had reserved and paid for, causing us to have to find another u-haul location that was open and had what we needed, which then made us spend more money having to put down a deposit. Our original pick up location told us we would be given an extra day as well as extra miles since we had to travel further to pick up our truck, but then we got charged for the extra day and miles used. When I reached out to customer service I was told there were no notes indicating we would get an extra day or miles at no charge and that doing do was something only corporate could authorize. So far the only thing we were refunded was for the missing equipment. For the most part everyone we spoke to was nice, but it just seemed that every time someone tried to fix a problem they created a new one and the whole experience was a headache and made moving that much more complicated and annoying.
