Why was the correct information not shared with the salesperson? I was supposed to get a appliances dolly and he did not know anything about it. He did not seem to care about customer service.

Mavis Road, Mississauga, ON location called me that the trailer was waiting for me. When I arrived, they said the trailer was rented to someone else the next day. Now I am late driving all the way to Caledon, ON. There the owner's son took a picture of my license and credit card with his phone, no contract, no paperwork of any kind. I lost 1.5 hours out of my moving day, without a contract. What if I had an accident? I was supposed to have 12 blankets, they were simply "not available". Did they steel my identity at Caledon? I insist that the Caledon location be stripped of its license to represent U-Haul, they are giving you a very bad name. After this experience I thought, never U-Haul again. But ...
I reserved a 26 ft truck a couple weeks before my move. On the day before the move I was told that the truck was now a 17ft truck located on south service rd in Oakville. My original pick up was to be in Georgetown. It took my wife calling back and getting very upset that we could get a 20 ft truck in caledon. Still not what I had reserved but better than what they had offered when they called and dropped the bomb on me that the size of truck I reserved, And the pick up location changed.
They lied to me about the price. Took a picture of my drivers license with a personal cell phone. Threatened to take me to court. Consistantly referred to me as 'bro" and then while attempting to make a complaint about them I was hung up on 4 different times.
Maybe sort out where your trucks and customers are, and maintain them properly.
Phone reservation with U-Haul was poor, was transferred 7 times and took way too long. Pickup of vehicle was horrendous. They did not know they had any reservations coming in. It took 1 hour to get vehicle even though I was the only customer. I would not recommend this location to anyone AND I will not be using U-Haul again, based on customer service.
When I arrived, the attendent informed I was at wrong location. He required contacting the owner of the store to inquire and was informed OK to drop off. No signature or final bill was reviewed. As such, not sure if there was removal of rental fee for furniture pads.
Friday night when I spoke with Karan proprietor I told him that I would like to leave the rental trailer in Keswick where I was dropping the items I needed the trailer for and he told me no problem but I would have to pay an additional $15.00 to leave it there, that was perfect for me as I don't live anywhere near the pick up location. I also ask him if he would be there at the time I was too pick up the trailer he said yes. I arrived at the pick up location at 7:20am only to find the trailer in a field in long wet grass and only a Gus station attendent who knew nothing about Uhaul rentals I had to get the trailer myself no one checked it had debris left in it from the last renter and left with it with no paperwork to show I had it s a rental and not stolen. Karan called me Monday wanting to know where the trailer was and when I told him I dropped it off at a Keswick Uhaul as per our conversation Friday he threatened me with a $300.00 charge if I didn't bring it back that day (Monday). I had to waste $50.00 of my fuel and half my day off just to bring the trailer back to him. This whole rental has left a very bad taste in my mouth and has cost me too much out of my pocket and tlme. I gave never been so messed around by a rental agent ever before, disgraceful customer service!.
Stop scamming your customers. This is the 2nd time I have had a bad experience with uHaul.
People were not friendly, more threatening. Especially about the gas being at the right spot.
Clerk asked me to take a picture of the mileage and kilometers. I didnt turn on the truck all the way on when i did this, only turned the key enough to turn on the dash so the engine light was showing. When i showed the clerk the picture, he questioned why the light was on and asked me if I hit something. Disrespect. He could have just inspected the truck. Both these locations were terrible.
Have the vehicle that was needed available & not wait 2 days before the rental date to contact customers before letting them know the truck they rented isnt available.
