We reserved our uhaul online for pick up on Sunday May 21 at 8am at Doby Shell in Burlington NC. While at our daughter's college graduation ceremony I received 2 phone calls from uhaul. Because I was at the ceremony I was unable to answer my phone. The voice mail left for me stated they did not have a truck available on Sunday. I called back at 1pm and after waiting about 5 minutes for them to find my reservation I was told I had to pick up the uhaul that day (Sat May 20). The reason given was that a truck was not available on Sunday. I asked what time I had to pick the truck up by and I was told 2pm. It was almost 120pm at this time. We had plans to go out for lunch which we now could not do because we had to leave right away to pick up the truck. The response I received from the uhaul employee was that it was only a few minutes away. This was not the point. I reserved for Sunday. What is the point of a reservation if you do not honor it. When we got to Doby She'll the guy there couldn't find our reservation. He called "traffic" and then told us we were at the wrong place that we had to go to Dave's auto sales to pick up the truck. It was now 150pm and we had 10 minutes to go to another location that we were unfamiliar with. We called Dave's and told him we were on our way. The guys at both Doby's and Dave's were nice. It was not there fault that we were not told of a change in pick up location. The guy I spoke to on the phone was not helpful and I still do not understand why we could not pick up a truck on Sunday since we were allowed to reserve it online. This change disrupted a special day for our family. Even if we had been given more notice than the same day it would not have been so bad. What if we had gone to lunch before I called back??? The voicemail did not specify that we had to pick up the truck by 2pm. I am very displeased with the reservation process and the guy that I sp Me with. He thought that giving us the truck for free on Sat was a great thing. Why should it have even been an option to charge us?? We were also fortunate that we did not get a ticket for leaving the uhaul at the apartment complex for 2 days. What is the point of a reservation process if you can't provide a better customer experience?

They did not have anyone available to get us set up. We were there for 40 minutes. The gentleman hadn't even pulled the truck out nor did he know what truck we were getting. He also put in my mileage wrong meaning I got overcharged

if there is a problem that cannot be remedied quickly, the customer should be given the opportunity to leave and be contacted after the problem is resolved. We had to wait over 30 minutes while the mileage issue was resolved.
