Alas, truck I rented had a bad in-truck light fixture but I did not see that when I picked it up. By time I got to my loading location, light-cover had popped off. I immediately call and reported it, and was told I would not be charged (and I was not). First time ever I had a problem with a truck - I've rented from U-Haul many times. This location is fun because of its Mr Softee trucks, and easy -- near public transit, but parking is also findable in walking distance.

Let me start off by saying that my pickup location was great the guy was very nice and even backed the van out for me and he in no way should get in any trouble. Now.. unknowingly to me and no fault of my own or the company’s fault when I went to drop the van off the entire crown heights area had been shutdown. It wasnt shutdown when I got the van otherwise I would’ve never rented from that location. I tried to get to the orginal location 3 times and was not let through. I was willing to pay the extra mileage and gas from sitting on the highway for almost 2 hours. At this point I figured I should call the company because now my rental went from 4 hours to 6 hours. Again I was willing to pay the extra fees. I called and asked since this location is blocked could I drop it off at another location without being charged, the rep said that was fine and gave me the address to the Kings Hwy location. I get there and the lady had an extremely nasty attitude when I told her what the rep told me and that they sent me here and it was fine. She told me “ that cant be true” she then got an attitude, yelled and told me to go back to where I got it from and figure it out myself. After I had the representative on the phone to tell her it was ok. Then another representative told me (after sitting in traffic and driving around for almost 3 hours racking up mileage) that I should go to a location that was already closed. Keep in mind the location she gave me was back in the crown heights area that was closed off. I told her I dont feel comfortable with that and there has to be another way. She said there wasnt. At this point I’m obviously very upset and frustrated. I almost left this van on the side of the road in Brooklyn and blocked the charges from my credit card from ever being charged. However I called back and a nice gentleman helped me find another location that was open, and could waive the wrong location fee. Which was what was supposed to happen at the Kings Hwy location but the lady didnt even bother to look up and yelled at me. ( I was crying by the way and she could see that and was not willing to help me) I got this rental at 11am and was supposed to drop it off at 2:30 and didnt get to the last facility until 7pm. What was supposed to be an easy turnaround was strung out for no reason. Being such a big company I expected better in the whole process. I felt as though you guys just wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars for something I had no control over I’m very glad the last representative was able to assist me, and the drop off location was very accommodating and assisted me as well. So to conclude the pick up location was great, the last rep I talked to was great and the avenue D location was great. The lady at the kings hey location made things worse when they didnt have to be.

The owner of the location lied about the mileage. I signed a contract saying the vehicle was at 7690. I returned vehicular at 7920. The owne said we went 40 miles and the original mileage was incorrect. He then threatened to charge us $300 and refused to acknowledge the original receipt. He said he wouldn’t allow us to leave until payment and this had to be handled through U-Haul corporate. Please let me know next step immediately and how this will be resolved.

I’m very disappointed in the service i recv’d,not from this pic up location, but overall, reservations was made early for a truck for pic up at shell station on clarkson Ave in Brooklyn & when we reached they said they had no trucks/van or reservations,waisted my time for my busy day & then i was told to go to Ave D & get there,now they say no reservations for pic up,i had to call your 800# at least 3tines which i had to hold on at least 15 minuets befor speaking to someone & not to mention i definitely called on 8/25 to confirm..i am very upset with uHaul st this time

The person is charge was nice, the rental wasn't a comfortable drive. Engine check light on, gave trouble when chnaging gear, and the ride wasn't smooth.

Fix your trucks, fix your staffs attitudes. Maybe show them how to correctly charge a credit card. The truck I got one light was out and it was having an issue of going over 10mph. Staff couldn't figure out how to charge my card for the couple extra miles over that I took without me calling my bank to tell them to let them charge 7.60 extra. Told me he was going to write an IOU for me to sign, ended up taking all the cash I happened to have on me to pay the little I owed due to his incompetents in using the system. 10/10 will NOT be returning to this location.
