Redmans was great and very concerned with safely hooking up the trailer to my vehicle (including changing the ball on my connector to allow for low mounted hitch). I had some issues with the booking procedure, my online Bristol reservation was booked for Meriden and the email and chat reps I communicated with had no interest in trying to locate an appropriate trailer closer to where I would be (instead of 30 miles away). Hard to judge over the IM and email, but it seemed like they were very bothered I questioned their equipment decisions. Even had the equivalent of getting "hung up on" in my IM session. I asked if we could look for other options closer to where I would be, the person responded that I had already gotten an email on the subject then ended the chat. I finally talked to a nice woman on the phone (after very long wait time) that was willing to look around at different locations for a similar trailer and found something that worked at the location i originally wanted. The website really leads you to believe you are seeing an accurate inventory of what equipment is available, but it seems to have no bearing on real life. Frustrating to spend time searching for just what you want, then have it confirmed 30 miles away.

Filled gas tank to 5/8 as required Gauge hard to read. Attendant read it below 5/8 and charged me an additional $7 and change. Don’t like to be nickled and dimed. Give the benefit of doubt to customer that paid $200 and change for 8 hour rental.

The only drawback is that this location is in a desolate area, and the only way to get there is through back roads. Oh well.

The issue is the reservation process not the locations. I reserved a truck and location a few days in advance only to find out the day before that the truck I reserved was not available, they were able to get me a bigger truck - which was too big - but the pick up location was 20 minutes further away. Why have a reservation system that doesn't reserve what the customer wants. The system should show the equipment as unavailable.

These guys are great! They came in on Sunday morning so I could pick up a car transporter trailer to bring an antique car from Connecticut back to New Hampshire. When checking the trailer lights, they discovered a problem with the blinkers. So we checked another trailer--same problem. Turned out the wiring socket on the truck's bumper was bad. They had a replacement socket in stock, so they changed it out, tested it, and got me on my way with minimum delay. If they hadn't have fixed the socket, I would have been stuck and my whole trip would have been a waste. I appreciate they folks at Redmans going the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service. Well done!

Reduce the rental rates. Cost per mile is unreasonable. Uhaul corporate is probably skimming off too much of the profit.

The software used is awful. I was the third customer of the day and the third customer they had difficulties having the credit card go through. They actually had to call the main office to have it entered manually. That process took 15 minutes itself. It took 25 minutes just to process me completely and I pre-registered online. It was 45 minutes from door to truck and I was next in line when I walked in and the customer in front of me was already in the process of getting their truck. U-Haul needs to look at their software and make it easier. Also, the procedure should be the trucks should be given to us with a full tank of gas instead of some strange amount that we have to guess when we put gas back in to return.

Installed trailer and wasn’t seated on the ball all the way. Drive vehicle into the trailer and it came off the hitch and smashed my tailgate on my brand new truck.

Make sure the place you deal with actually has the equipment you want to rent. Went to the local store in town because it was convenient and made sense. When I got a phone call the day before the move and found out I had to go to the neighboring town for the truck and a site an hour and a half away for a tow dolly I was not a happy mover to say the least. The actual places that I had to deal with were accommodating and nice to pick up the equipment and return it. I had to go way out of my way to get the equipment and they could not compensate me in any way for my inconvenience. So renter BE WARE.

The truck was not very clean upon pickup. There was dirt and pieces of styrofoam in the back. The cab had food and drink trash inside and under the seats and a slight odor of garbage.

We ordered a 20' truck from the Plainville location. We were told that only a 26' foot (no problem) was available in Bristol. The problem was on moving morning, we drove to Bristol only to be told we had to wait because the truck was coming from Plainville. We had a 20 minute drive to Bristol for pick up and had to wait for the truck when we were in Plainville only 3 minutes away.
