I felt bad for the representative working because his system was making it difficult for him to link both the trailer and the truck rental. As a result it took extra time 30 minutes + to be able to complete the transaction at pickup. Uhaul should make a system so that the trailer and truck rental can be combined into a single card transaction and rental

Uhaul needs to work on their inter-location communication. Originally had a 17ft truck booked in Stamford to pick up at 11am in Stamford or in a nearby town. Was supposed to get a call within an hour of placing the order to let us know the pickup location. After 1.5 hours hadn’t gotten a call so I called them. Local office said to call the scheduling office, so after a brief hold they tell me that size truck wasn't available and that they would need to get me a 15ft truck instead. Not happy about it, but we needed a truck so I agreed as long as we could get it for the full 24 hours. This is all sorted out, we are going to go pick it up in Stamford. In the meantime, got a call from their White Plains location shortly after about an order placed in my name early that morning for another vehicle I did -not- order, which was very confusing because the personal info was mine but the order # was not on my account. Apparently it had been placed by one of their employees early that morning in error, I told them to cancel it after making sure it wasn’t my order. So everything must be all set now right? Nope, I happen to check the order a few minutes later, and the time scheduled for the truck had somehow been changed to 7pm that evening, only about 7 hours of time. So I call up the office again to fix, they don’t have the truck available for 24hrs. I sit on hold for a while, and eventually they offer me a larger truck in Bridgeport for 12:30pm. Again, really need a truck, so I take it. Before I send my driver to Bridgeport from Stamford, I check the order again after getting off the line again, and once again they did not give me the full 24hrs and instead scheduled it for 21hrs. Luckily this was easy to resolve, 1 call to the Bridgeport office and the person over there fixed it right away. So it’s 12:30pm, and my driver is over at the Bridgeport uhaul to pickup the larger truck. It turns out that somehow in the 30 minutes from me fixing the order, the pickup location was changed to Stamford without someone notifying me. Even though this branch has the truck we want and I just spoke with them within the past hour, the local branch won’t let us take the truck since the reservation says Stamford now. They can’t change the reservation in the office, so I have to get back on the line with the scheduling office -again-. I get put on hold for a while, and then a little after 1pm they finally change it back to Bridgeport so we can pick up the truck. Very unimpressed with the service, wasted hours of my day dealing with this.

Quick in and out to rent the vehicle, although I picked up the truck at 8 in the morning. I arrived 10 minutes before my agreed pickup time and the truck was ready for me without a problem. The representative at the U-Haul store was very friendly and helpful, and gave me a couple of tips on how to make the whole process smoother - like where I was not allowed to drive. He also clearly explained the billing and all charges for the rental.
