Van wasn't real dirty but needed to be swept out, and had an odd odor to it probably from what previous user had in it.

My order for two 26' trucks was made at one location with 3 dozen blankets and dollies. At the very last minute UHAIL company switched me to two different franchises other that the original, and I didn't get may tools needed so I had to drive to another who only had blankets. Since these tools were not available it made it MUCH more difficult for my loading crew and I ended up paying more for labor. You should ensure that the work crews have these available with them or, since you seem to want to make money renting them, you should require that franchise stocks them. One I used had NONE of anything. You could floor plan them, with a finance company for 30 or 60 days so you don't use their money and they are there when a customer needs. It is not fair to your franchisee. You should embrace the labor force you have by bringing them in house as part of UHaul. You should know that loading and unloading may take longer than estimated and make it easy for customer to add that "overtime" to the original order afterward as a normal step in the process instead of asking customer to amend original order . You seem to want thes people to be part of the process, but then note to the customer that they are not your employees. Don't try to push them away. Make it like they are your partners.

I rented a U-Haul van and drove it a total of 18 miles. Before returning the van I put $10 worth of gas in it. When I received my bill, I was charged $6.30 for gas. I called Bob at the U-Haul location. He stated it appeared I had returned the van with less fuel than when I rented it. After explaining the above to Bob, he agreed to return the $6.30 gas charge.

The trailer would roll because the parking area had a slight grade. I was fortunate to stop a runner who helped me disconnect after 5 pm and found a chunk of concrete to block the tires. When I called the next day, the rep was very nice and told me that he had already found the reservation in the system by the number on the trailer.

The place was closed by the time I had called the "800" number and been given several locations that were not in business. The UHaul customer service was terrible.
