Overall my UHaul experience was a nightmare. I was executing a military PCS move between South Carolina and Illinois. I had a "guaranteed" rental for a truck, trailer, 2 dolly's and either 50 or 60 blankets. When I arrive to the location they tell me that they do not have any dolly's. The lady that worked there was very nice and the place was clean and organized...just no dolly's, and they didn't have the number of blankets that I needed either. I drove around town from UHaul to Uhaul only to find that none of the locations had a utility trailer. I call customer service and they tell me that they are sorry, but that there are not dolly's within a 30 mile radius. It being a military move I was needing to rent a dolly because this is the only way to get reimbursed. Having a truck, trailer, and a limited timeline, I had to go to purchase a utility dolly for $120 and I could not afford to get a second one, so now I am stuck trying to move my entire house with just one dolly. This, of course, took more time than I planned for so I called customer service to explain that I was going to be late and they transferred me to scheduling. The lady at scheduling tells me not to worry, that she has known the guy at the drop off location "Terry" for years and that she made a note for him not to charge me a late fee so long as I can get the truck turned in by 22 June at 4pm. The lady at scheduling tells me there is a family waiting on the truck that I rented so I jumped through hoops and packed for 20 hours for 6 days, only to arrive to "Terry" who tells me he doesn't know who told me that, but that he didn't see any notes and that he would have to charge me a late fee. Today I called customer service and tell them my story. They tell me that perhaps scheduling can help me, so they transfer me to scheduling. I talk to scheduling and tell them my story and they say that they need to transfer me back to customer service, because there was nothing they could do for me. I was transferred back to customer service where I told my story for the third time and was told somebody would call me back within 72 hours. Overall, very disappointed with my UHaul experience and the fact that I was "guaranteed" the items I requested and that there were notes being taken on some of the issues that I had, only to find out that notes were never taken.

The blankets I ordered were not available. I also ordered an appliance dolly which was not available either. There was one person working on a Saturday morning and was unable to handle the customers. There was no offer to refund my money for the missing items.

I had confirmation for an appliance dolly. They did not have one and made no effort to get me one. I burned extra gas to go somewhere else to get one. I had to find it myself. The truck had over 100,000 miles and burned gas at the rate of about 5 plus miles to the gallon. Staff was new and didn't have proper training. Asked for a credit since I didn't get appliance dolly. She kept saying I shouldn't have an issue since I didn't have to pay for it. No customer service. I am contacting the company about a credit.
