A chained up junk yard dog greets you as you pull into a very run-down residence. There was no one in the office shed that said Uhaul but an exterior padlock on the shed door. I call the Uhaul office number and the woman who answers the phone says her husband is outside where I proceeded to tell her that was not the case. She comes to the door and screeches for her husband who did see us pull in his driveway in a 26’ truck but couldn’t be bothered to help us. She then berates us that the cab wasn’t clean enough and she would charge us $50 to wipe a couple of coffee dribbles on the console. Never checked the back to confirm we returned the hand truck or moving pads. She was worried that she might have to heave herself up and actually do her job! Very rude and disgusting place. I was disappointed I didn’t have my .38 special revolver with me! U-Haul should not have a place like this representing their brand!

The drop-off location was closed on a Monday and just had a drop box to set the key in the contract in. Did not meet with anyone. The location was was perfect for me.

Grado:

U-Haul’s service is bad. The drop off location was accepting no drop offs. I was supposed to be contacted. I wasn’t. You wanted me to drive 2 hours round trip to drop it off someplace else. I had a 7 day contract, but the contract isn’t visible electronically and your system said I had a 5 day contract. What a mess. Get your act together.

I was able to drop off the truck but there was no record that the truck was to dropped off there even though I requested the location and the agent verified before I left San Diego

Location was fine, easy, and much better than self checkout. Only complaint is that the truck tires were a joke. If a truck is going to be this far north, put some tires that aren’t bald on. I had to hook a strap up to the truck in order to get it out of its parking stall. I almost didn’t make it from my house. I had to try to scale a hill 2-3 times before I’d actually make it. The location & people were great, the quality of equipment was not.

Drop-off was all on the customer and I suspect pick-up would be all on the customer too.
