Update google. Locations for dropoff in Barrie didn't exist. We drove an extra 12 km looking for a dropoff that actually existed. then we got charged for the extra mileage.

I booked at the Bradford street location in Barrie on a Tuesday for a Saturday move. The truck I wanted was not available so I secured rental of a larger truck. I also asked for 3 sets of moving blankets and was told they would be in the truck. I was told to pick it up at 9:30 am and drop it off at 12:00. I said I needed it longer and was then told by the gentleman booking it ( in person right in front of me) that he could push the next mover an hour so I could bring it back at 1:00 pm. I agreed to this. On Friday, I called directly to the location, spoke to the same guy and confirmed my rental. At this time he said " don't worry about the drop off time, as long as it's back around 2 pm." I said I didn't think I'd need it the late and would try to have it back around 1:00pm. When I went to get the truck there was a line up. I went up to the same gentleman I'd been speaking with all along, told him I had the flu and my friends were there to get the truck but I had to go home. I got a call from my friend 20 minutes later to say he had no truck rental for me. After 15 min of arguing with him, he found a truck after all. There were no blankets. No record of me requesting blankets. At 12:15 he called me to say I was late bringing the truck back!!!!! I said he'd get the truck very soon as we had just emptied it. It was back by 12:30. I asked why he said on Friday that 2pm was fine and he responded that he didn't say that. When my friend went to pay, the mileage said 193 km. I live approx 5 km from the rental location and went approx 3 km up the street from my home to a storage place and back to the rental. I think if I went 20 km that would be generous . My friend was very angry and since I was not there, I have no idea what was said but he refused to pay what the gentleman requested. All he said to me was " it's been taken care of" All in all a very poor experience and I'll never use or recommend uHaul to anyone. Customer service is expected. Getting what you are willing to pay for is expected. Having a vehicle ready and as requested in a timely manner is expected. And not being taken advantage of by cheating on km is expected. I'd highly recommend that this location be investigated or audited as their business practices are suspect.



Uhaul made our moving experience a nightmare! I will never ever use uhaul ever again. The owner at the Orillia location was great and very helpful, but the experience as a whole was terrible.

The worker was 40 minutes late, couldn't find the keys to any of the vans as all the keys were in one big pile and then they ran out of printer paper and I couldn't get a paper copy. Will never use Uhaul again.



Was a quick drop off, the lady was helpful and made the process effortless. Good job.

This essa road location was closed we were sent to 53 or55 Bradford street. It is a trailer and they were completely unorganized. We did online check in between the two places I waited an hour to find out my truck wasn't ready yet and I have to wait more. Sucks

No confirmation on vehicle we wanted until day before and it was smaller size then we wanted ( booked a month in advance) .no one checked over vehicle before hand. Never got blankets or dolly like I ordered. Then system was down and waited over an hour to get our truck. Then tried to get me to drive from Innisfil to waubaushene and back to drop truck off instead of going to Coldwater which was closer and cost me less. Very disappointed with uhaul would much rather any other truck rental company. Only benifit is after hours drop off... Won't recommend.

This was the absolutely the most unpleasant experience I have had to deal with, I received two different pick up locations for the rental with two written confirmations as well, went to both locations and was unable to get a truck at either one of them...My rental time was 9:30 on Sat Aug 26...Received a call from man at AGN 34 Essa at approximately 11:30 to say that they now had a truck for me...So I basically had a very stressful day , and paid full price for the truck when I only actually had it for 5.5 hours. Had elevator booked from 1-4 at my new location in downtown Toronto , so lost time and only had 2 hours to use the elevator , which meant that we now had to use the regular elevator that was filled with residents of the complex...Terrible day... Will not put myself through renting a vehicle from UHAUL again...

I had requested Port Perry for pick up. I was given Fenlon Falls as the location though. I called in to see if there was anything else closer than the over 1 hour drive to Fenlon Falls. I was rudely bounced around your call centre for an hour. I spoke to two different people twice in the 7 people total I spoke with. I asked to speak to a manager and for a copy of the recording of my call and was refused. I dropped off the truck, and a person called me multiple times advising nobody could find the truck. I was given another number to call. This person didn't know why I was calling because he had the truck. I received another call advising I had not returned the dolly. I was not given one (would have been helpful!) because the store was out of them. I received pressure thought to take a smaller truck and people insisted I was taking too big of a truck when in reality it ended up not being big enough for what I have. overall, probably the worst customer experience from end to end unimaginable. Already talked coworkers out of your service today.

The agent Desiree was extremely helpful as there was some confusion on my contract regarding re mileage and cost. He was on the phone on hold and talking with traffic department for over an hour. I must say this was very frustrating waiting to leave. Finally I was permitted to leave and he would continue to straighten things out for my return the following day. Upon arrival the following day he was back on the phone for another 45 minutes then traffic department was able to complete the contract. However Desiree at this location was extremely helpful.

This was a terrible experience: - My vehicle was not ready, I reserved it for 1:30pm, and didn't get on the road until 3:30pm - The app did not work, so the attendant at the location had to come all the way in on his own time to set me up, costing me about 30 minutes. - My reserved vehicle did not show up on the app - I was told I had to come into the office on monday to deal with paperwork after returning the vehicle saturday night - The location was closed (!!) when I when there monday, and had to walk to the other Barrie location and back home (1.5 hours!), only to find out from the other location I didn't have to actually come in. What a waste of my time. - The vehicle I was given was a much larger vehicle class than I needed, so I had to spend more on fuel. - Absolutely terrible upper management organization, whoever runs the Barrie locations, and whoever oversaw and cheaped out on the uhaul app should be fired.

Had a cargo trailer reserved at another location but when I went to pick it up the cable for the lights was cut off and therefore the trailer was unusable. Was sent to this location as a solution. The trailer at this location had the cable but one of the tail lights was out. When I asked the taillight to be fixed before I drove off with the trailer, my request was refused because this was "not part" of the employees job. Perhaps if uhaul employees actually inspected and repaired their equipment when it's returned I wouldn't have spent an hour picking up a reserved trailer that should have been ready to go for my pick up time.

We arrived at 9am after being told the night before that the office did not open any earlier & there would be no way to pick up the truck before then unless we paid for an extra day. At 9:10am, we called the number as there was no one there & the office was not open. Once the person arrived all the paperwork was incorrect, there was a message on the computer saying that my Visa card was declined, so he had to start the whole process over again using the same Visa card that was entered incorrect the first time around. Very dissapointed in this location & definately would not recommend it to anyone.
