Saying the employees at this location are incompetent would be understatement! I read the reviews prior to booking but because it was right around the corner from where I was moving to I decided to try my luck; big mistake! I booked the truck for 10am, didn’t end up driving away with it until after 11:30 even though I did the express pickup prior to arrival. Employees were absolutely useless, disorganized and had no idea what was going on. Even at around 10:45 there were customers that had been there since 9am and still didn’t have their trucks. Neither employee seemed to care at all about their jobs or their customers. Never ever again will I use uhaul, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company!

The office is too small for the number of customers. The person working was very courteous and apologized to everyone for having to wait. It didn't help that some trucks weren't returned the day before.

The self pick up didn't work. Our truck wasnt there so they had to give us another one. We where suppose to get our truck at 830 the app didnt work so we had to wait until the worker came. They open at 9 and the worker was late.

I waited over 45 minutes in cold weather to get the truck. There was only 1 person working on a busy day. The vehicle was booked online to save time. Also, returning the vehicle, same issue ---- long wait and took person to attend me over 20 minutes. I wasted over 1.5 hours just to get the vehicle and return for 1.5 hour job. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Firstly I waited an hour to receive a vehicle which was previously reserved. No other customers were present. I was aware the fellow was new, who definitely requires much more training & should not be left on his own as of yet. We became frustrated so it was DAM DAM DAM. The other man who works there spoke up & reminded the young fellow about his language but he then proceeded to make a personal call but he also should have watched his language F F F, not willing to spell it out. The young fellow made many calls to his supervisor with no answer. When contact was made his supervisor tried to help but things weren't going well. The supervisor gave him a number to call which took time to get through so frustration set in again so I was present to F F F. When the young fellow finally had it figured out sort of as it was not the vehicle requested. He indicated that he didn't know how to cancel and put the right vehicle in computer. After an hour I took the vehicle just to get out of there but it cost me .20 per km more. The young man was apologetic but it was a complete nightmare. Very disappointed and felt disrespected. Had previously used this location with no problems, don't know what happened this time.

Having a few more personnel might help. I find also the prices have risen so high. Four years ago I paid less than $400. For the same distance and time, I paid close to $900. Will not be using U-Haul again.

Get people that dont scam to represent you . They tell you to drop of car give you milage and then charge you a few days later and say you did something wrong. It takes forever to get a return call or your money back.

Update google. Locations for dropoff in Barrie didn't exist. We drove an extra 12 km looking for a dropoff that actually existed. then we got charged for the extra mileage.

I booked at the Bradford street location in Barrie on a Tuesday for a Saturday move. The truck I wanted was not available so I secured rental of a larger truck. I also asked for 3 sets of moving blankets and was told they would be in the truck. I was told to pick it up at 9:30 am and drop it off at 12:00. I said I needed it longer and was then told by the gentleman booking it ( in person right in front of me) that he could push the next mover an hour so I could bring it back at 1:00 pm. I agreed to this. On Friday, I called directly to the location, spoke to the same guy and confirmed my rental. At this time he said " don't worry about the drop off time, as long as it's back around 2 pm." I said I didn't think I'd need it the late and would try to have it back around 1:00pm. When I went to get the truck there was a line up. I went up to the same gentleman I'd been speaking with all along, told him I had the flu and my friends were there to get the truck but I had to go home. I got a call from my friend 20 minutes later to say he had no truck rental for me. After 15 min of arguing with him, he found a truck after all. There were no blankets. No record of me requesting blankets. At 12:15 he called me to say I was late bringing the truck back!!!!! I said he'd get the truck very soon as we had just emptied it. It was back by 12:30. I asked why he said on Friday that 2pm was fine and he responded that he didn't say that. When my friend went to pay, the mileage said 193 km. I live approx 5 km from the rental location and went approx 3 km up the street from my home to a storage place and back to the rental. I think if I went 20 km that would be generous . My friend was very angry and since I was not there, I have no idea what was said but he refused to pay what the gentleman requested. All he said to me was " it's been taken care of" All in all a very poor experience and I'll never use or recommend uHaul to anyone. Customer service is expected. Getting what you are willing to pay for is expected. Having a vehicle ready and as requested in a timely manner is expected. And not being taken advantage of by cheating on km is expected. I'd highly recommend that this location be investigated or audited as their business practices are suspect.

Uhaul made our moving experience a nightmare! I will never ever use uhaul ever again. The owner at the Orillia location was great and very helpful, but the experience as a whole was terrible.

The worker was 40 minutes late, couldn't find the keys to any of the vans as all the keys were in one big pile and then they ran out of printer paper and I couldn't get a paper copy. Will never use Uhaul again.
