Oh my God!..... Where do I begin. I've never experienced a most unprofessional business in my entire life. You should be ashamed of having a address representing U-Haul. Nothing against the guy that serve me, but WOW!!!. I got charged American dollars instead of Canadian dollars. I talked to the ASM and unfortunately I am pretty sure that he is restricted by American seniority. Have used U-Haul a lot of my life and it makes me think that I should open up a Canadian version and Crush Americans. Your service sucks. By the way. My bill is still not resolved.

Office was closed - though uhaul website and confirmation said they would be open. Trailer I was promised was not on site. And almost one hour of phone calls solved nothing. Uhaul should consolidate dealers into a few competent ones with longer hours.

It was quite a rude surprise to find out thatinstead of getting the truck in Collingwood like requested, I had to drive an hour out to Barrie to get it instead. Not being surprised by suddenly having to go 200km out of my way would make the experience much better.

Location was good and the staff was friendly. The truck its self was horrible, needed an oil change,air bag light was in, the cab was just disgustingly dirty and smelled, the windshield was so dirty I couldn't see out of it, and there was a weird knocking noise coming from the back brakes. Overall I got the job done what I needed to do.

This is a copy of email sent to UHaul on Saturday, 2 Sept/17 Images sent in email cannot be loaded on to here. Approximately one (1) month ago, I reserved a 26 foot truck, online, to travel from Barrie, Ont to Bathurst, New Brunswick. The date requested was for pick up on 31 Aug. Shortly there after, I received a confirmation email and location for pick up on the 31 Aug/17. On the email, it stated the pick up address was 29 Ferndale Dr, Barrie Ont. I also received a confirmation phone call from UHaul on the 30 Aug/17. I requested during the phone call, about adding a second driver as I did not know the drivers details when I booked online. The UHaul rep who I spoke with assured me it would be no problem to add a additional driver. When I arrived for scheduled pick up, (29 Ferndake Dr) the attendant did not find my reservation.. but through his diligence, he found out that I had to pick up the truck at the Bradford St location in Barrie. When I arrived at the Bradford St location, the attendant was in the process of renting my scheduled truck to another customer even though I was there before the ( my) requested time pick up of 4-4:30 PM. Credit card receipt shows time of billing from UHaul. He booked the truck in my favour but did not know how to change /add a additional driver. He tried to assure me it didn't matter until I highlighted the text on the contract. He suggested that additional driver fill out address, from the license on both merchant and customer copy of UHaul agreement and he would initial as witnessed. His " initial" consisted of a wavy scribble beside the hand written address of the additional driver. He then gave me the key to the truck and stated I needed to drive to pick up the truck at another location ( 34 Essa Rd, Barrie) When I arrived at 34 Essa St and checked condition of truck , I was appalled. The cab the was filthy with remanence of food and mud but more so, when I lifted the cargo door, I found someone else's belongings which included, deep frier containing grease that had coated the floor ( back area) along with a container of vegetable oil which was leaking as well. The attached pictures show the belongings as well as a close up of left rear wheel well area that was coated in oil. There was also a broken tie-down support at front right of truck. I did not have time to return to the attendant as the reservation screw up and other associated inconsistencies with my rental from UHaul, as listed above, did not leave me room to deal with this. I had other bookings associated with the move and a strict timeline. This whole process is unprecedented with my experience over the years in dealing with UHaul. I have never seen such a messed up event and the incompetence of those employed who I dealt with yesterday. Totally disorganized. Crowed and unprofessional. Customer is treated as an ornament or a virus not worthy of attention. Even though I had a reservation well in advance, I had to deal with a total disarray of scatterbrain ineptitude. Sorry, but it is what it is.

1) I completed the on line express check out to save time. When I arrived they could not find my confirmation. Once it was found, the computer apparently froze. Then I was asked for my credit card. I explained that it is already n the computer since I completed the express check out. There was again a delay. It took about 30 minutes to process in the office. I felt the express check out was a complete waste of time. (2) This location is a real dump. The office is a mess and a complete disaster it gives a feeling of unorganization. The lot has broken pavement pot holes and is difficult to manoeuvre a trailer around the erratically placed used cars, and trucks. The lot is also untidy and does not feel like a safe place to be

They were trying to make a good situation out of a bad one. After being told the morning of that I could not get a 26 foot truck from a different location I was sent to this location for a smaller 20ft. Upon arriving I was informed the truck is not there and that there was a scheduling error. This location was grey at finding me another one within the hour however customer service was lacking in some areas. They met my needs but it was like pulling teeth to get there. I don't blame this location for the truck mix up but the uhaul company. I had ordered these truck almost 3 months in advance and was not expecting the run around on my day of my move. I was 4 hours late to start my move and I was not able to fit all my belongings in the 20 ft truck so a lot was left behind. After ordering 4 trucks this year alone this last truck rental has changed my outlook on self moving. I will not be back

The truck had not been serviced or the cab cleaned before I picked it up. Because it wasn't serviced a mechanical issue wasn't noticed which ultimately resulted in a breakdown during our trip.

Clean the vehicles od at least ensure it was cleaned out. There was one staff, a young fellow, and a line up when I arrived, 3 people ahead of me. The office trailer was unorganised, messy and filthy. Not even a flat place to sign the paperwork. The "yard" was more like an abandoned lot than a place of business. When I filled it with gas, it was within 5 litres of being empty. The guage was below the empty mark, and not the 1/4 full as noted. The front suspension is locked up and every small bump is transmitted to the steering. On a corner, I hit a series of bumps and the front end "danced" right off the road. I can't imagine that UHaul doesn't visit their franchisees to maintain a professional level of presentation.
