Joy was so wonderful. So sweet and welcoming. Solved a few of our problems with unloading and loading into the unit. She saved the day! She needs a promotion and a raise. Would come back to that location anytime.
The location is a bit confusing tucked back all fenced in ... however Joi was very friendly and pleasant even when having to work Christmas Eve.
Joi the store manager was so great to work with. I had gone to a closer U-Haul originally (4021 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin, TX 78722). When I walked into the first store (labeled U-Haul at UT Austin), you would have thought I had just ruined the two people who were working's day. They refused to help me locate a truck, opting to tell me they had nothing available until Dec. 30. They told me to call the U-Haul 1-800 number and that was it. Zero effort on their part to try and provide me with any assistance. As soon as I walked into the second one, U-Haul Moving & Storage at I-35 and Airport Blvd, it was like night and day from the other U-Haul. Joi, like her name implies, was quite literally a joy to work with. I walked into the building worried now that I wouldn't be able to rent anything. Joi sat me down, went on her computer and was able to get me a truck with everything I needed in less than 10min. Moving is stressful. Having to work with difficult people amidst a stressful time is very difficult. Joi took away any and all stress I had. Minus me having to drive the truck. But no one can help that but me. I would 200% recommend you go to the U-Haul Moving & Storage at I-35 and Airport Blvd and work with Joi to get all of your moving needs taken care of.
the hanging bar in the middle of the van was warped.. and ended up snapping during my move.
Need more parking space. Had wait for 15 minutes for someone to leave
I reserved the U-Haul for 24 hours but ended up dropping it off the same day after business hours. I enquired about that option while picking up the vehicle and I was given instructions for the procedure, however, I wasn't informed about the extra $20 charge for dropping off after business hours. Had I known about it, I would have returned it the next day.

My daughter rented a cargo van Sunday 8/9 and used for two hrs, I had reserved for 4 hours, she returned the van And realized she left her purse in it. She went back and the guy said there was no purse and he already rented out again, REALLY??? Complete BS!!! He wouldn't give my daughter the managers name, so she filed a police report and stopped the payment. Maybe if they don't get their money they will be willing to y'all and explain where my daughters purse is!!! Hate liars!!!
The attendant was the epitome of patience considering issues with reservations and delays. He maintained a calm demeanor and rapidly addressed a variety of customer needs at the same time. Radarion (possible name mispell) deserves some commendation and a raise for how much he dealt with

Employees need to wear a fucking mask. Austin, Texas has cases of Covid-19 shooting up like crazy. I could be immunocompromised and it's necessary for me to move and interact with employees at pickup (I didn't think that'd be the case when reserving online). Like seriously it isn't that hard to wear a god damn mask.
The employee inside the store (1032 E. 46th St location in Austin TX) was not wearing a mask, even though all business employees and customers are required to wear a mask in Travis County. I chose contactless pickup for a truck rental, but the website was not working when I arrived so I had to go inside which I would have preferred to avoid entirely. The employee not wearing a mask inside the store confirmed my fears about in person pickup. I will not be returning to this location as long as the mask order is in effect in Travis County.
The customer service was great! The representative who assisted me (I forgot her name) was so so friendly and helpful--she brightened up my moving day and went the extra mile. :)

I made a reservation with the app. The app directed me to a different location than the one I originally chose. When I arrived, I was unable to obtain the vehicle without interacting with a Uhaul employee, which I would have preferred not to do on account of the virus. I asked the employee to put on a mask before I interacted with her. She was offended by this request and told me it was "her building". I said if she is going to interact with the public then she should be responsible and take the incredibly easy measure of wearing a mask. Anyway, she didn't even have one. Moving on, she apparently deleted my reservation and created a new one for me. When I made the original reservation, I declined the CDW. I didn't want it, didn't need it. When I returned to the location and checked the truck back in via the app, I saw that she had included it. I went inside to speak to her about it (she still wasn't wearing a mask) and she said the CDW is not optional, that it's required. This is false. I have rented trucks from Uhaul dozens of times. I would appreciate being refunded for the CDW, which you will see I declined by looking at my original reservation. Appart from the CDW: Uhaul should educate its staff about the value of basic (and frankly not difficult) measures such as wearing a mask. If your employees are not intelligent enough to take these measures on their own, Uhaul should require them. In the meantime, I will not be returning to Uhaul unless it is absolutely necessary.
Best experience I've ever had renting a vehicle. Your IT department should get major kudos and raises for the online renting process. I was able to easily complete my transactions without ever needing to even speak with anyone. Awesome!!!!!!
I was charged for things that I did not receive. The employees were working very diligently, however, there were many problems with the reservation. I did online check in -- however, there was no key in the lockbox. I did not receive dollies or pads -- however, I was charged for them, despite contesting that upon returning the vehicle.
I had trouble checking the truck in for return and the associates were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Clearly marked parking spots would help. The current parking is kind of strange due to the slope. Parking at the side would be more convenient. In addition to this, the process for the self-checkout should be clearer. I had to go indoors and talk to a staff member to understand the specifics.
