First time using u haul and probably last time using u haul I felt cheated and i called customer service about it, charged 300$ for a 12 hour job not nice.
Sylvia & Carolyn took really good care of me. I reserved the cargo van but it was rented a 10 ft. Instead. In hindsight the 10ft turned out much better! The move went smoothly.. And it was nice to know that storwise made it all the sweeter how easily i was able to get the truck and get moving -literally lol. Even though I waa)s late returning it by 15-30 minutes the next day, they didn't charge extra and they helped me save even more by giving me the Cargo van rate! Carolyn & Sylvia treated me like family and I just met them! Lol They are so nice and hospitable that I was made at home. Because moving is stressful enough as it is; So thank you thank you! I'll definitely be coming back to this location when I me need Uhaul and/ or storage! Take care & God bless! Paul B. ðŸšš
The average rating is not for the ben white location in particular. I wanted to rate my entire experience with uhaul as poor. First they switched my pick up location and I was not notified. The location was further out than the original and once I got there, they did not have 2 dollys reserved for me. The ben white location was able to acomodate me but the uhaul renting process was not pleasant. Moving day is stressful as it is, it was disappointing that a reservation was made and still had to jump through hoops for it.
The lady that rented it was very friendly and helpful. I tried to do the self-check-in but even after turning on the GPS on my phone and starting the process, I was getting an error message saying it could not recognize where I was - if UHAUL had an app or something that worked better, it would have made the process more seamless but the lady was thankfully there and was very helpful. Also, on my original contract it gave me a slightly different location than what it said when I logged in to start the rental process, so that is an area of concern for Uhaul as I almost had to get 2 separate Ubers to find the right location - if there is a change in pickup location, that is something UHAUL should communicate ASAP.
Better communication & solid instructions
The hours are inconvenient, they're open for a very short time during an inconvenient time too, so turning keys in and checking trucks out is very inconvenient
Sorry I got back 2 hrs late. One of my helpers got sick and another one left early. I should have called to say I was late.
Scheduling and pickup was easy, convenient location for where I live.
When I rented the truck and received instructions and paperwork the fuel level read 3/4 of a tank, however when I started the engine it only read 1/4. I took a picture of the gage and showed the agent the discrepancy. She verified the discrepancy and stated she would make the change. I actually returned the truck with more than 1/4 tank but was charged for 7 gallons for a EZ fuel charge. I texted the representative and reminder her of the discrepancy. She apologized and stated her manager would make the change. I worry what would have happened if I drove away without verifying the fuel level, therefore I recommend having renters check the fuel and mileage and initial the paperwork to verify everything matches before driving away.
The biggest problem we had was that we were overcharged for insurance (this seemed like an honest mistake) and then she attempted to charge us an absurd amount to refill the gas (even though we refilled it fully, and took a video as evidence). Had we not taken the video and pictures, we would've been scammed for a bunch of money. Be very very careful if you go here
I like issuing U-Haul. I highly recommend them!
First vehicle I was given broke down less than a mile away from the pickup location. The gas completely gave out; I could no longer accelerate anymore and the steering wheel completely locked up. I was on a major road and had to try to safely move off the road with a steering wheel that would not turn. Even at our final stopping point, we were still partially in traffic. I had to stay with the vehicle until UHaul sent a tow truck out to diagnose the issue. I lost over 2 hours of my moving day to this issue. This location or UHaul customer service did nothing to apologize for this issue. I did not get reimbursed for the inconvenience, or even a discount. I'm extremely upset with how this was handled. They vehicle clearly had major mechanical issues that put me and my passenger in danger.
Very nice woman got me all set up. I hadn't requested a dolly or furniture blankets but they were provided at no charge. It was definitely the most pleasant part of a day of moving.
Everything was so super easy .Awesome experience,I can't remember the lady that helped us at the Ben white storage location but was super helpful.
The reception was closed at 9-9:20 and I had to wait Outside in cold and rainy weather even though it was supposed to be open at 9. They didn't have my account in her system and had to call to find it. I showed her my app and told her the truck was already there. And she just released it to me.
All was fine.
Great customer service
Not bad service from location. It was the online experience that was difficult. I would want to deal with a person face to face when picking up a vehicle since providing ID is painful process to perform outside in the heat, sun glare, noise from passing cars, and wind.
Carolyn is wonderful! Always efficient, helpful and goes out of her way to help.
I Picked up the truck with only 1/4 tank of gas. It would have been nice if the truck had more gas than that.
Prepaying makes process so much easier.
This was our first UHaul renting experience. I did not use the app as I think I was supposed to upon returning the vehicle; nonetheless, we were charged exactly as expected. We will use this service again. The 9' van was perfect for our needs!
