I had made a reservation at the Dudley MA location a week prior to my move. The day before my move I received notice that they did not have any trucks in the size I had reserved. Calls to the UHaul customer service lines were useless - as were the attitudes of the 2 different people I spoke to. Fortunately for UHaul the Auburn location stepped into help.

The reservation was supposed to be at Sun and Sound. U-haul set it up for Emmanuel Motors instead. The confirmation email still said Sun and Sound however. It was not until I panicked and called the number on the listing did I find out that it was for Emmanuel Motors.

We had reservations to pick unit up at Park St. In Palmer MA. We had to drive 30 miles to pick up unit instead of 3! Why couldn't the unit been dropped off at my location instead of 30 miles away. I have been using your service for over 40 years and never had to pick up a unit that was not at the reserved spot. This is very very poor service. Someone blew it!!

I had rented from Sun Stores and was jerked around as a change I made was mishandled resulting in my showing up to “no truck”. I was sent to Emanuel Motors who were very helpful and did the best they could but my plans were still interrupted resulting in my paying an extra month for storage. I also received a call from another U-Haul in Belmont st in Worc as I was somehow reserved there as well. Sun Store needs to be closer supervised by U-Haul if they want to maintain a decent reputation

I scheduled the pickup time for Saturday at noon a week in advance with no issues. I wasn't informed until 11:00am Saturday morning that the location closes at noon and to try to get there early if possible. Luckily I had left early in case traffic was bad, but this could have been a problem because I was traveling from over an hour away.

Ok- I was very happy with my overall experience, but I have a very important suggestion that would have made my experience flawless! When I arrived to pick up my rental and was in the middle of the process, I was asked to provide a name and number for verification. I gave them my home phone number and my wife’s name. Then they notified me that this didn’t work- but I did not know why until they explained that no one picked up. I thought of course no one picked up, my wife was back in the hotel waiting for me to arrive with the truck. So I gave them her cell phone number- but she didn’t pick up because she wasn’t expecting any calls. Then the person told me they could call my work- but I am self employed- if they called that number they would get me. So now I have eaten up a lot of time that could have been avoided it it had been explained that I needed to have some person sitting by a phone somewhere waiting to get a call from UHaul. In the end I was able to verify my son was on his mobile and they could call him. The phone agent suggested that I could also show them my passport or rental contract!!?? First who travels in the US and brings a passport with them? And if I have set up an electronic pick up- than I don’t have a paper rental agreement! All that they had to do was send me a text or email that said the following. - remember for pick up, you will need to give the UHaul rep the number of a person they can call and speak to live to verify who you are. -or have a copy of your passport - or a printed copy off your rental agreement.
