So first I need to comment that I made three separate calls to uhaul corporate customer service and was placed on automated hold and was on hold over fifteen minutes finally abandoning any hope of speaking with a human associated with uhaul. I’d also like to add that I’ve been using uhaul rental trailers and trucks since 1990. This recent rental was the WORST experience ever... First, I needed to confirm my rental after receiving confirmation notice via text, email and phone call. I called the local number for my pick up location and the phone rang about ten times. The person who picked up seemed confused and bothered by my confirmation call, but I did manage to get the person to say my trailer pickup was confirmed. My pickup day arrived and I wanted to call the local number to see if I could arrive later than my noon pickup time. I called three times and the phone just rang and rang. The location is also a gas station so I called that number to no avail as well, it just rang and rang ... I called uhaul 800 number and was place on permanent hold ... So I decide to ride on out and make my noon pickup concerned they weren’t open on Sunday as advertised. I arrive at 11:50, go in and am largely ignored as an attendant behind glass talks on the phone using his blue tooth ear piece. When he finally addresses me I get the impression he’d rather not be bother with me or my uhaul reservation, but I need the trailer so I hang in ... He finally processes my transaction and hands me my paperwork, but DOES NOT come out to help hook up the 5x8 enclosed trailer or so the normal uhaul inspection where I sign off in the condition of the trailer. I hook it up and start to move and the rear doors swing open so before getting out of the parking lot I stop to latch the doors. Upon doing this I notice the trailer is loaded with a pile of lottery tickets, newspaper ad inserts and 3 lipstick tubes. Also lipstick is smeared across the floor. I’m in a hurry and again, attentedant was less than helpful, so I head home deciding I’ll clean it up when I get home. When I go to clean it up I further notice that someone took the lipstick and drew on the inside of the left door. The crude crimson illustration depicted a foot high stick figure with curly hair. A few inches to the left was a 12” portrait of a penis and testicles with a dashed line arching from the penis tip to the stick figure mouth. It became evident to me that this image was a billboard and the trailer had become a business place of sorts for intimate services. I tried again to call uhaul to report the trailer’s condition and again I’m on permanent hold. Ok. So I clean and sterile the trailer, line the floor with cardboard, load it and drive to Chicago from Atlanta. The drive is uneventful and the trailer performs as expected. Needing to change my drop location because my original choice was so far from me I tried a third time to speak with uhaul and I’m back on hold for another

The truck was in very good condition and well maintained, but it was not clean when I picked it up. Also, I had to load my own furniture pads from the back room of the store. There was also an appliance dolly on the truck that I did not rent. I did turn it in with the truck. Also, the clerk never came out from behind the counter, so the previous scratches and damage to the truck were not noted when I picked it up.

Keep the trailers clean . I had to clean the trailer out . It had all kind of alcoholic bottles in it

The truck fuel was on empty, there were things still in the back of the truck from the previous use and the pick up location was sketchy. I would hope that U-Haul Would be more selective with their vehicle lease locations.
