I reserved a auto transport from your Santa Fe, NM store and 24 hrs before I was to pick it up they called and said there was not a auto transport in Santa Fe. They said I could go the extra 120 miles through Albuquerque, NM and maybe get one or Taos, NM- 180 mile out of my way and they would knock off $50. I decided to rent from Amarillo. The trailer towed fine. When I returned it the inspection showed the tongue was bent and cracked. They researched it and there are photo's showing it was done previously to my rental. I am glad there wasn't an issue towing a heavy car vs. other peoples safety. I already was paying a premium cost for rental and then to offer me $50 to drive 180 miles RT to rent from you after I had a reservation for 5 days at the location I needed.

My entire pick up experience was a complete farce. I had my truck and trailer reserved a month in advance and it said â€œGuaranteed reservationâ€ on the emails and on my Uhaul account. Two days before the move a location I had not selected to use calls me to make sure Iâ€™m still needing the truck. I indicated that I would definitely need the truck, as Iâ€™d taken the trouble to reserve it, and would be there a bit before the six pm pick up time. The owner then informed me he was closed at 5 so that wouldnâ€™t work. Ok, So I told him weâ€™d be there before 5 pm. It was then that I realized someone had changed my reservation so that I would be picking up the truck at one location and the trailer I needed at another location across town. Not ideal, and absolutely NOT reflective of my guaranteed reservation, but fine. At 8 am on the day I am to pick up my truck someone from Uhaul calls me and leaves a frantic message on my voicemail for me to call as soon as possible. I called and spoke with one representative who couldnâ€™t seem to even find my information and then just disconnected. At least she was nice enough on the phone, if a bit inept. So I called back and got another representative, who put me on hold for several minutes before she came back on the line to inform me that they didnâ€™t have a truck for me and I was pretty much out of luck. She went so far as to inform me that my â€œguaranteed reservationâ€ wasnâ€™t at all guaranteed and in fact she wasnâ€™t all that worried about my problem, as her fleet is a mobile fleet and sometimes this sort of thing happens. So no sympathy for me at all, the person who planned way ahead is just screwed and wonâ€™t be able to get his wife and kids and all our stuff across the state of freakin Texas in time. She indicated that there was another truck but it was already four days overdue and didnâ€™t seem likely. I asked her what happened to the truck that the man called me about the day before and she said â€œOh, we rented that already.â€ Wow. Customer service at its finest! If at that moment I could have cancelled the entire thing and gone with another company you can bet I would have! But see, I had checked in the night prior, uploaded all my information and paid for everything so as to streamline the pick up process, because I knew I was going to be pressed for time due to the two different pickup locations. Iâ€™ll never do that again, believe me! As I sat trying to figure out what I was going to do for a 26 foot truck at the last minute the guy from the truck pickup location called and said the overdue truck had shown up. I immediately went to pick it up so as not to have it rented out from under me yet again. When I arrived the gentleman had no clue how his rental system worked and informed me that he needed my license and my credit card. I politely informed him no, that it was already in the system and it had been paid for. He was confused and I had to show him on his screen where it said the amount due was zero dollar

The equipment was not all together only blankets were in the truck. The wrong dolly was in the truck. I requested an appliance dolly. when I got there the man said he had tried to call the store on 6th street all day to find out if they had an appliance dolly but they would not answer the phone. Yet he had time to call me and said he was going to get a flu shot. when I picked up the truck I had to go to 6th st and get the appliance dolly which cost me time to go all the way across town get the dolly and go back across town to get the truck. I was not impressed.

I didn't get the size truck I had reserved. I was issued a 26' truck (only truck they had), as opposed to a 20 footer. It was too big, so I swapped it out for a 17' truck at the U-Haul location on 6th Street in Amarillo. The folks at the U-Haul locations on Nelson and 6th in Amarillo could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They were top notch. Very impressed. This was a very stressful weekend, as we were moving my elderly parents from Amarillo to Fort Worth and into an assisted care facility, and all the U-Haul personnel we encountered along the way made a tough situation go much smoother.

I ordered the vehicle at one station but was called last minute to pick up at another station, then I was told I had to return at yet another station. I was by myself so then I had to leave my car somewhere else and get a ride. Vehicle only had a fourth of a tank of gas, is that a standard practice of Uhaul?

Was not comfortable leaving my rental trailer at this location. This was an old gas station on I-40 and was directed to park and leave the trailer in the back corner in a non-secure area. Was worried that someone could have come in after hours and steal the trailer. Also, rented pads that the attendant took inside the garage area of the station. I took pictures to verify I left the trailer in case of problems. I will certainly use Uhaul again but prefer not to use this drop off location.

Had to drive 100 miles one way to pick up truck. Had requested furniture dolly, but got there and no dolly. Was promised $50 credit to pay for gas to pick up truck . . . We'll see.

The purpose of scheduling online was to have all items available when I arrived. I was called two hours before arrival to be informed that this location did not have the dollies nor the bed covers. I would have to go to another location to pick up those items.
