The location isn't the issue. It's at the corporate level & the fact that you make a reservation 3 weeks in advance for a date, location, & size of truck only to be told the day before that the location & truck is changing. I lived 20 minutes south of Salina, Ks & had to drive to Abilene, Ks. That's closer to where I was moving to Herington, Ks. So I drove almost to my move location, got the truck, drove back & loaded, then drove back past the truck pick up location to my end location. Why make a reservation if it's changed the day before to a different location. They changed the truck size from 20' to 26' & at first were going to charge me more for the 26' truck. It would be like making a dinner reservation, getting to the restaurant & being told they don't have a table for you, but they'll cover your fuel cost to drive across town to a different restaurant. That doesn't make sense & isn't good customer service. It was a logistical pain & the corporate side didn't seem to care about the inconvenience.

Checkout took about 45 min. Wondering why I got a reservation for faster checkout. Lady at counter very slow, not sure she knew what she was doing.

Wish they would have a podlock. But other that that it is ok.

The enclosed trailer leaked a fair amount of rain into the trailer and got multiple items in the trailer wet, including a mattress. I didn't become aware of this water damage until after I returned the trailer at the drop off location.

They didn't do the walk around with me regarding the rental and that wasn't a very pleasant experience.

Truck was not running right. We tried to tell the man working this, and he assured us that he had worked for uhaul for 40 years and he knew how those trucks ran. And we would definitely make it to our destination six hours away. Then we called Salina. They said there wasn't much they could do unless we took it to a mechanic in town. Why am I taking the time out if my move to take this truck that I just paid $600 for to a mechanic?! It should've been ready to drive before I even picked it up! Not having any other choice, we take it to Bill's auto repair, the "uhaul approved mechanic". His shop looks like something straight out of a horror movie. He was very rude. After 2 hours at the mechanic, turns out the truck DID need new spark plugs and wires. So, picking the truck up in Abilene at 9:30, 2:00 rolls around and we are finally able to start loading our things into this truck. I will NOT be using uhaul EVER again. Every employee I dealt with was very rude, and had a "not my problem" attitude. My overall thought of uhaul? CROOKS. There should've been a WORKING truck ready for us, or SOMEONE should've been willing to move an inch to help us. Instead, we wasted half of our moving time just to deal with assholes for a truck that shouldn't have been our problem to find someone to fix it.
