Get a person to work at the cash register who is customer friendly. She made us wait until other customers were waited on! I was offended by this. We went outsided and loaded the trailer without any help.

The employee was rude and I was made to feel as if I was interrupting her, even if my son and I were the only 2 in the store.
Phillip TMake sure when you tell them a truck is waiting on them it is there and they are able to get it.
Cody MWe had some difficulties and was running several hours past drop off time when the phone rang and it was a woman from the U-Haul Dealer at 831 Wise St Water Valley, MS 38965Water Valley Mississippi saying she was "looking for the truck". I explained we ran into a snag and were running several hours behind and were going to turn it in at Oakland Truck Stop dealer about 1/2 mile from our home instead of driving 20 miles to drop it off to them. The woman started arguing with me saying we could not do that. She said we "HAD' to drop it off at their place. I told her that I was not going to drive the truck 20 miles and have my wife follow then bring me back 20 miles when we could drop it off right down the street and be back in 15 minutes to start unpacking. She said she doesn't even know if that location is still a U-Haul dealer or not and I told her the place is owned and run by friends and neighbors of our and I called them and they assured me I could drop it off there. She then stated we still had to bring it the 20 miles to "Water Valley because they had a reservation for 8 o'clock in the morning for another customer so I had to bring the truck to them. I told her I do not work for U-Haul so she could tell the new customer to pick it up in Oakland. She said again I could not drop it off down the street because she could not send the customer to pick it up there. I asked why not since the pickup place for the reservation I made almost a week in advance was changed twice, the last time at the last minute and I had to drive somewhere to get the truck and your customer can do the same. She said she could not do that, and again *I repeated "not my problem". By this time, she had become angry and belligerent saying it was my fault because I was not bringing the truck to her like U-Haul said. I told her she could send someone from her location after I dropped the truck off to move it to her location, but I was not taking up my time, putting extra mileage on the truck that I was not responsible for and I had to get off so I could finish unloading the vehicle and get it turned in. She continued to argue that I had to bring it in to her location and I just told her I did not want to be rude and hang up on her, but I needed to get the truck unloaded and I was going to drop it off up the street because this is not my fault. She then told me again it was my fault and that is what she would tell the customer. I told her that would be fine and she hung up. Shortly thereafter we finished unloading and I took it straight to our friend's place and U-Haul dealer Oakland Truck Stop where they checked me in when my friend and neighbor who checked me in told me: "A WOMAN FROM WATER VALLEY CALLED AND TOLD ME NOT TO CHECK YOU IN AND TELL YOU THAT YOU HAD TO BRING IT TO THEM TO DROP OFF." I was stunned that she would do that and how bad that looks for U-Haul if I was not a friend and neighbor of the owner and all the people who work there. I have rented a truck from U-Haul 3 times in the last 5 years. The last time I had a reservation about a week in advance but the closest I could get from the place I had reserved the truck was 35 miles from my load out so I drove 60 miles to my intended drop off, rented a truck and drove it 60 miles to load out then drive the 60 miles back to the load out and dropped it off less than a mile from my drop off point. Just want to let you know This last experience with that woman plus the serious lack of customer centric reservation system means I will think very hard before I rent from U-Haul again. That woman needs to undergo more customer service training. I have more than 40 years in management in businesses dealing directly with the public You have my phone number and I welcome a call if you want more details. You will find that I am not a difficult customer aor pathological complainer. it is just that this was so uncalled for.
