The truck I got had a powder coating on the floor and the side. So I returned the truck immediately when I found the dirt. I spoke to the person at the rental location and he said I can talk to area field manager(Jesse Brown) and I won’t be charged. So I called and left a voice message but I still haven’t got a call back and instead have been charged $51.51

Equipment was very old but working, I returned the equipment clean, but the location has still put the unnecessary cleaning charges of $25. They are just making money out of customer. They want customers to become sweepers and sweep the vehicle for them. Even though the while return the vehicle is clean. I am looking for reversal of this cleaning charges.

I called ahead to make sure this location was open for drop-off on Sunday. When I arrived, there was a person there, but he told me uhaul was closed on Sunday. Then shortly after I received an email saying I was being charged 25$ for cleaning even though we folded blankets, took all garbage and swept the truck out. The email gave a reply address in case I had any questions about the 25$ fee. I immediately sent an email. I have not received a reply in 4 days. Then today I received another email saying I owed 55$ with the late fee. Only four days have passed since I returned the truck. I again sent an email questioning the extra fees. Still no reply from uhaul. I payed nearly 1400$ to rent the truck. I can't believe I'm being charged another 25$/55$ for this cleaning fee and late fee - I'm not even late!! I will be certain to tell everyone I know about this experience so that they will not face the same frustration with uhaul. I'll advise them to use Penske instead!

Gentleman who was there was rude and short with answers. Not helpful, made a snide remark when we told him we had not swept out the uhaul as there was no dirt or debris. He said he couldnt believe if we moved that the unit was that clean, told us to use the broom hanging on the outside wall and sweep it out.

Original reservation was made online and a follow up phone call was placed by UHaul to me to verify the rental. The time was confirmed for a 7:30 AM pickup on Saturday so I could move my son to college in one full day. On Friday, I was contacted by the actual rental dealer saying they don't even open until 11:00 AM. I could come pick up the trailer just before they closed on Friday instead, but would need to pay an for an extra day if the rental exceeded 24 hours. Picking up the trailer on Friday at 4:00 PM was not convenient and overnight storage was an issue as I live in a neighborhood. Bottom line is that the UHaul web site should be able to have access to the hours of operations for their dealers so these types of issues don't occur. Instead of having an entire day to move my son, I was forced to leave very early in the AM so that I could have the trailer returned by 4:00 PM to avoid having to pay for a second day. This was not a great experience.

Would never go there again! The guy named Rob was extremely rude and unhelpful. When I asked him about the details of the bill, he was like "I don't know! I just push the buttons. Call the customer service!". It's been a very long time since I interacted with someone that rude!

We extended our trailer rental an additional day so the personnel who answered the phone in the morning was friendly, helpful, etc. He said we could even drop after hours - "just pull in the parking lot and leave it - I'll call you the next day for any questions". We returned during normal business hours and put the trailer in the parking lot and went in to "check out". The personnel was very upset / rude to us as we disconnected it before coming in and said he had to check all the lights, etc. If that is the policy for returning during normal business hours, the paperwork (nor the place we originally rented it from) told us that. We made a mistake but the way the personnel handled it was very disappointing.

My experience with Phil's 76 was excellent. They advised me as to the size of truck I would need for my move, had the truck waiting in front of their facility on time and thoroughly explained my contract and the truck controls! Returning the truck was also a breeze---I couldn't of asked for more.

The 24/7 self-service verification process did not work. The person I spoke to was somehow unable to get in touch with my two contacts (even though I was certain their phone numbers worked), so I was told to speak to the owner of the rental location, which had opened while I was struggling with the self-service verification. The owner was very curt and unpleasant. He was unable to confirm my reservation because, due to my unsuccessful self-service verification, it had been put under some kind of hold. So it had to be canceled and replaced with a new reservation. The owner spoke with a U-Haul representative on the phone to sort this out, and that representative said (on speaker phone, with me in the room) that this was all my fault, because I had failed the self-service verification — even though I went through the steps exactly as I was asked. Needless to say, I was very frustrated by this experience. If I ever use U-Haul again, I won’t use the 24/7 self-service.

It took over 20 minutes to complete the paperwork. During this time I was asked for no input, which means that the process uhaul has in place is extremely inefficient. Renting a car, for example, takes 3-5 minutes. I consider this terrible.

The person we dealt with was incredibly rude. He acted like a jerk from the moment We walked into the business. If I didn’t need the truck immediately I would have walked out. I’m sure U-Haul would not be happy with this guy representing your company. On top of that the engine light was on and there were no interior lights. I have rented from U-Haul a number of times in the past and never had such poor customer service. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. 319-309-4635.

The man who gave me the contract in the office was not friendly- would not look at me. When I asked for insurance info and prices he said “I don’t know anything about that. Read the brochure.” When I was unable to find answers in the brochure because they weren’t there, he said “keep reading “. I didn’t have time to stop and look at the website. For that reason I chose not to purchase insurance. I left with the sense that he just wanted me to sign the forms and leave. The gentleman outside who helped me hook up the trailer,however, was kind, efficient and helpful. Won’t rent there again and I won’t recommend them to anyone.
