I reserved a 9 inch Cargo Van just like the one that I saw on the website which was a ford. When I got to the U-Haul on jolly and cedar here in Lansing Michigan they forced me to get a gmc 9 inch van while saying that they are the same thing. They aren’t the same because the ford is a 6 cylinder while the gmc is a 8 cylinder which consumes more gas and thats what happened at the end of my trip. The staff there were not professional and they said hey you are wrong and they consume the same amount of gas just trying to sell it to me. I am a mechanic and I know the difference between the 2 vans so stuff like this aren’t going to just pass by. I don’t like how the situation was handled by the staff because they could have just gave me a ford which is what I signed up for when I reserved online. So my point is, don’t make me sign up for a ford but when I get there, you give me a 8 cylinder GMC which consumes more gas. What really bothered me is the fact that the employee there said “ you either want it or you don’t, I got a job to do”. Anyways, I am going to try not to use u-hauls again just so I won’t have another bad experience. I hope that who ever has power, can reach out and actually teach the employees on good customer service.

I pre registered online to save time at the uHaul office. I registered to pick up the auto transport at the North Lansing location at 7:30 am. I got to th North Lansing location and after about 10 minutes I was told that my reservation was at the South Cedar location at 9:00 am. I drove to the South Cedar location and picked up the auto transport after about 15 minutes of “computer” work by the rental agent. I don’t think I will use the online pre registration ever again. It was supposed to save my time and it cost me additional time because of location change and time change.

They were extremely busy and had only 2 people working on what I would consider their busiest day of the week. I waited in line for 25 minutes to pick up my reserved vehicle. When I returned it was so much easier. I pulled in and was met by an employee. However it was raining and I was made to stand in the rain while he did his job because the employee that took a return before him did not move the trailer out from.under the canopy. A little disappointed about that and that either one of them thought it was okay to keep a customer standing in the rain while they did their job.

I made my reservation 5 days in advance and requested for self-pickup of the truck. I heard nothing, assumed everything was in order, and went to pick up the truck. However, it was not ready and store was not open. I called customer service and they apologized and said there was nothing that could be done and I would need to wait in the parking lot for the store to open. They offered a $50 refund due to the truck not being available as planned. After the store opened, I explained the situation to the employee and he barely acknowledged my existence and acted as though helping me get the truck that I had reserved and been waiting for due to the store's mistake, was very inconvenient to him. I have now called 8 times (about 8 hours) to customer service over the past 30+ days. I have been told every time that I would receive a phone call with resolution of the situation within the same day and each time I have heard nothing. I will not be recommending this location or this business to anyone again. What good is a guarantee if it's not honored? What good is customer service if they can't provide any service to the customers and you wait 30+minutes on hold each time you call just to re-explain the situation and have them tell you the same thing again?

Keep buying Ford transit 250 Vans! Mine was awesome. Everything went smooth. Would definitely do again and will for phase 2 of move in 2 weeks. But...while dropping off a lot of other customers were claiming that no one was inside at desk b/c location was understaffed for a busy summer Saturday.

The most offensive and demeaning person in a customer service job that I have ever met, Mark, was our UHaul representative. He rudely muttered insults about me under his breath but loud enough for me to understand. He was beyond grumpy. When the other employee was nearby, his behavior improved significantly.

When I arrived to pick up my truck that was requested on line and reserved it was not so simple, I had a ride that dropped me off and was waiting for me to tell them I was ok and they could leave HOWEVER The guy at the counter was engrossed in a phone conversation and made me wait 11 mins. along with turning his BACK On me as I waited right in front of him, after 11 mins of being ignored I stated out loud I had to know about my truck so my ride could leave he ignored me so I went outside and found another employee and asked for help; I asked about the guy inside turns out he is the manager; After being ignored at the counter (a simple acknowledgement would have been nice) instead the acknowledgement was turn your back to the customer !! I would fire this guy no questions asked His customer skill does not exsist it was apparent in his 11 min phone conversation another thing was I tried calling this location the whole day of my pick up no one answered the phone in my 10 plus s attempts. Obviously the manager of this location is slacking and making uhaul look very bad.

Get a new manager. James called my phone and left a horrible threating message stating that he would call FBI and tell them that I'm riding around with a bomb in the Uhaul truck and that I'm a terrorist. I saved this voicemail and I will be forwarding this message to corporate.
