The cargo van smelled like dog urine. It was tolerable but not pleasant. I do not know what could have been done to fix that since we are sensitive to odours and masking it with air freshener would make it worse.

I hope, for the sake of the company, that my terrible experience was rare: truck needed servicing, told to drive it anyway; gas consumption way too high even though driven slowly on highway; called to complain, complaint was misdirected, had to follow up on status of complaint; eventually complaint sent to regional manager who seemed reluctant to get involved, didn't return e-mail, again had to follow up, claimed rental location didn't get back to him after sending 2 e-mails (since when does one ignore a manager?); didn't resolve issue, gave up, won't use U-haul again.

Clerk didn’t check inside trailer and there ended up being a dolley in there. We weren’t billed for it but he should of checked inside. Parking and just trying to drive in and out of parking lot was herendous. I think you need a bigger location.

The dealer and myself missed the fact that the previous rental had left a large oil spill in the cargo area of the 9ft van. When unloading our boxes some of the oil had been absorbed into the boxes and the oil on the back step plate caused a fall that could have been very serious. It was a genuine oversight by the dealer but could have been a bad situation.

I had lots of trouble with the app on my mobile device for picking up a truck took me two hours to pick up a truck I don’t know how to improve it but it wasn’t a very good experience for me Filled all the information out then it wouldn’t go to pick up my truck then after that I had trouble loading my picture I did everything I was supposed to finally it did work then I had trouble getting the key out of the key box nobody told me that you had to turn the knob to get the key hopefully the next time will be better if I choose to use this service in the future

Staff was rude- truck was filthy. Staff did not do a walk around and did not care when I told them how filthy the truck was. I demanded that I not be charged for a cleaning charge because they failed to clean this truck. Never rent here again.

I used the trailer for 3 hours to move the remains of a tree to the recycle depot. Consequently you can rent out the same trailer the same day and make twice the profit. I believe you should offer a 1/2 day rate. Otherwise all was good.

I used U-Haul twice over the Canada Day week-end,was very happy with customer service and over all service.The only issue that could be improved on was the on line booking,they did not seem to be aware of what was truly on site.

we ordered a u haul for a specific time in a specific location so we could have the easiest move possible, however a day before the move the time was set back 2 hours and the location changed by some distance. when we called in to ask why and if we could change it back so we could arrive at our destination on time we were scolded by customer service and told we couldn't do anything about this change. we arrived late to our move and held up our service elevator past the time we asked for because of this. I was completely dissatisfied with the service I got and will be avoiding renting a u haul in the future for fear it will completely ruin our moving plans. drop off location in Kingston was well run and professional.

It is unfair to rate the location as there is a clear disconnect between your website, call center, and physical locations. 1) It was impossible to get through to someone on the phone at the physical location, the call person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. After 2 days I finally scheduled an appointment to install a hitch on the website. 2) When I arrived for pre-paid appointment a week or so later the service person informed me there was not the proper hitch for that appointment. I tried to explain that I had ordered it on the website and I should have been informed prior to arriving that there was not a hitch. This location also should have been informed of the appointment and the need for the appropriate equipment. At first the service person was unsympathetic to the situation and said we would need to pay extra to get the part in time for our move. Why would we need to pay extra for a software malfunction? Luckily the store manager happened to walk by and said he could pick up the part at another location. My main question here is, what if the manager was not there, what if he had not happened to walk by? There should be protocols in place when there is software malfunctions and a customer has paid for a part wherein the store was not informed. Your website has serious issues and in the future I will have to physically drive to a uhaul center to make an appointment as your call center is a hit or miss, and there is inadequate communication between systems and stores. But before I do that I will certainly be looking for other moving options. 3) the trailer I rented was dirty and clearly unswept. Pencils and junk all over. 4) I was pulling the trailer with a honda civic and had some concerns about proper weight that were met with answers like, "that's what it was made for" instead of easing my worries and/or advising me about weight. 5) In addition, adding to further confusion. Your website classifies a trailer as a utility van. Who thinks this is a good idea? This easy fix is costing your customers at least an extra half hour to call and clarify that they are indeed getting a trailer and not a utility van. It is 2019 these sort of user experiences are unexceptable. Look up frictionless experience because right now you are far from the mark.

I have used this UHAUL location several times now and in the last few years the customer service has gone down hill. The only saving grace was the person who helped me get the contract written up yesterday, he was friendly and helpful despite being at the end of his shift. My issue was that the manager at this location talked down to me, did not give me the benefit of the doubt in terms of my booking time and was not helpful once I explained the situtation to him (i.e. the reservation said 12AM not 12PM like my account said once I loggined in). Overall, this location will lose my business and I will use fellow competators because I do not want to support this manager/franchiesee with my money. I would recommend others to do the same.

Generally speaking, U-Haul needs to work on their policies for renting vehicles and equipment - if it isn't already at a location and ready to be rented, show it as unavailable. I get so pissed off every time I book something and then get a call saying it is not available at that location and what I would like to reply with is "well then why the fuck was I allowed to book it for that location at that time???" But I know I shouldn't get mad at the person I'm talking to because they are just an employee and it is uhaul, the company, that I should be mad at. The same thing goes for when I book something and then show up to pick it up but it hasn't come back yet so I have to wait for an undetermined amount of time - I shouldn't be able to book something if it is not at that location and available to be booked, people are always going to return stuff late. In any case, this location was very very good at taking care of me and doing what they could to make me happy - for example, the truck I was supposed to pick up didn't come back on time so they gave me an alternative (bigger truck) so I could be on my way.
