Getting rental vehicle checked out took longer than it should have. There was only one customer agent available and numerous customers. Returning the vehicle was quicker easier.

My original pick up location was on Elm St., to be picked up on a Sunday. Then I received a text that the location was changed to Pacific Ave, which was closed on Sunday. Luckily I found the Cornell location and they had a truck for me. Confusion and disorganization on U-hauls online system, awful.

1) There was a requirement that emergency contacts be reached by phone before a truck could be rented... that requirement seemed to be only to poor (looking) people: specifically Mexicans from what I could tell. I wasn't asked to do this. I'm an upper class white woman and I look like it. That's some casual racism m right there. If it's for EVERYONE then do it for EVERYONE. Otherwise, quit picking on poor folks and immigrants. 2) It's shady that UHaul bills for the replacement costs of a bumper, for example, if there's been damage but doesn't actually repair/replace it. The truck I got was COVERED in little "x" marks from previous problems- and I had zero problems- but it appears to be a revenue stream, not an effort to repair/ maintain trucks. 3) An engine light kept coming on if I drove the truck more than 20 minutes (low tire pressure) but your roadside assistance was useless with information...

Devise a better method than calling someone as the emergency contact. My wife does not have her name on her voicemail and did not answer her phone. I eventually used a relative overseas with his name on his voicemail. Took almost a half hour just to rent a small trailer, with other customers waiting behind me.

The asisten manager was very rude, I’m not happy that she call the emergency contact in front of me I told her that that is not ok and ridiculous, She was not sorry for the issue , plea I got charge 0ne more day for one minute I pass, I’m not going back to rent any U-Haul vans again , they are rude and greedy.

I had a reservation email from a week ago, and I had even called before pickup and changed my pickup time 2 times a day or 2 beforehand. Upon pickup at the location, the girl said my reservation wasn’t in the system or in any other uhaul system??? Then she said well at least we have ONE of the size trucks you need. What if they didn’t have any? Then what. Also, she didn’t tell us how to obtain the dolly we paid for. We drove away thinking it was in the back of the truck but pulled over halfway to our destination to check, and guess what...it wasn’t there. We had to turn around and drive back to the store and pick one up ourselves. Do there was a few wasted miles we had to pay for. We just grabbed a dolly off the floor and walked out. No one cared. She also knew we were going to be returning the truck a few hours later after they were closed, and she did not explain the truck return procedure to us beforehand so we knew what to expect. So when we got there it was this huge confusing crazy time trying to find out from surrounding customers outside the locked building how we were supposed to return our truck. We had been moving heavy stuff all weekend. We were exhausted, dirty, tired, drained, and irritated. We didn’t know how to do it and we were also really frustrated with taking a million pictures of the truck and going through the process online. It was a ridiculous circus. Thanks for nothing uhaul.

Your questions are about the location I picked my trick up from. They needed to ask questions about the call center and worthless reservation. I should receive a refund for the extra millage. I reserved a reservation for a Forrest Grove pick only to get a message hours later to be told they did not have the truck and I would need to go to Hillsboro instead. I had a local rental ready but it was taken by the time I received your message. I would like partial refund to compensate for the extra milage and my time. Please respond back soon. Thanks Denny

We have been very impressed with the service and help from U Haul all the way from TN to OR. Although the 26 foot truck we rented was relatively new, the AC stopped working in the middle of the trip on a hot day, Several U Haul operators and U Haul Roadside Assistance were quick, friendly, and helpful to get us cool and back on the road fast. Hillsboro,U Haul and Storage staff bent over backwards to get our truck returned and worked hard to help us get the storage units we needed. When we had a major problem with the door malfunctioning on one of the units we rented, Hillsboro U Haul staff responded immediately with friendly professional help to get the problem solved. Hillsboro U Haul staff are an A #1 5 star crew!!! We will definitely always use and recommend U Haul for moving and storage!

Your mobile pickup procedure sucks. Ask for the license and other info before the person gets on site, and tell the place to leave the keys in the truck. It's kinda pointless to do this if I still have to go inside and wait in line.

I’m not sure when it started, but the whole “you can’t rent a car unless we can contact an emergency contact right this minute” thing is kinda dumb. The man in front of me canceled his reservation because they couldn’t get ahold of the one person he could use as an emergency contact. He was Hispanic and presumably new to the area, he specifically said he only knew one person’s phone number and that he hadn’t had a chance to get phones for anyone else in his family. Imagine moving here and not being able to rent a truck because you don’t know anybody. And imagine how humiliating it is to have someone tell you you can’t rent a truck just because your contact can’t get to the phone at the moment. What is the purpose? Just because they answer now doesn’t mean they’ll answer in case of an emergency, so you shouldn’t call it an emergency contact. The worker kept telling the man to just text the person and tell them to answer the phone. Like??? If they didn’t answer his phone call they aren’t gonna answer the text. My personal experience was just fine because luckily my dad had just got off work so he could answer the phone. Anyway, there needs to be an amendment to that rule, for the patrons sake and for your business.

The uhaul had a loose steering wheel, making it difficult and dangerous to steer. The uhaul AC could only blow from the windshield defroster vents, not the forward vents.

Not happy with Uhaul at all. Booked online. Got bigger truck then requested. When I picked it up cost did not match online. Location had to completely re-create my rental. Held me up 1 hour. Location did honor smaller truck rate and gave me discount for inconvenience. Location manager was very impersonal. Came across like I was inconveniencing him. Other staff was greatly lacking in customer service. Very harsh and impersonal. Will think twice before renting from uhaul online. This is the second time I have reserved online and both times was a complete disaster.
