The clerk or manager needs to be better trained on hooking up the equipment. He did not properly secure it to my truck and it came loose on the highway. It damaged my bumper and also a light cover was damaged by the clerk while loading the trailer. I have a claim in but it could have been more costly.

Dear U-Haul, I’ve been a long time U-Haul truck rental customer and a U-Haul Self Storage customer. But my recent experience on contract 24499857 has been frustrating. I have been overcharged. • On August 17th the U-Haul representative in Keene, NH allowed me 8 days on this contract. He logged into the U-Haul system under his password and made this change. I received an email confirmation specifically stating the 8-day duration with a due back date of September 3rd. However, when I picked up the truck in Gardner, MA (instead of Keene, NH at the request of U-Haul), the contract stated the standard duration of 5 days with a return date of August 31st. • I called customer service, attempted to get this corrected, and escalated it to a manager with the result being to take it up with the destination dealer when I returned the truck. It was clear in the confirmation that it was an 8-day rental but no one would acknowledge this. And when I signed the contract in Gardner, I noted in writing on the contract that the due back date was incorrect. I initialed this change. • I also asked about a mileage credit for the distance between Gardner, MA and Keene, NH when I went down to MA to pick up the truck. I returned the truck today in Quincy, IL which should only be ONE Day LATE – not 4 days late. I am not authorizing my credit card to be charged for 4 days of late fees. The rear door was padlocked. NO KEY! With little or no help from the dealer I managed to cut the lock- $60 dollars and an hour later we left and were late for the movers. The truck vibrated at any speed, Not a good day! The truck should have been inspected before we got there but obviously it was not. Poor representation of the dealer. Very disappointing!

Truck was a mess. They didn't write down the correct fuel amount and the truck was almost on empty as the previous customer didn't not replace the fuel. They used the same receipt from the customer before me and had to cross out his mileage and put in mine. Staff was unknowledgeable.

We had booked the truck for 6:30am. Nobody showed up until 7:15am. No apology, nothing. All he said was he doesn’t open until 7am, even then he was late. ( the website did say he was open at 6:30am) Then we had to wait for him to switch on the computers etc. We called Uhaul and the lady tried to locate him. It threw our timing off by an hour. It was just such an inconvenience. We definitely will NOT be going there again. Sorry he did try to justify it by saying he was the only one open on a Sunday. Next time we will find a location open when they say they are or use a different rental company.

Things to improve: 1. I was not told how much uhaul insurance would cost. 2. I was not given any paper work in regards to the agreement. In Austin I had to sign and then received a copy. 3. I was not provided moving blankets or straps and was not told that they would not be included. The store sold me a rope separately and tried to sell me blankets as well. This is unexeptable. Every other time I’ve used uhaul they were included.

Awful experience. No knowledgeable person at pick up location, poor storage, damaged and dangerous equipment, poor communities between office personnel and site personnel, change of pick up and drop off location suddenly, with out notice at pick up.

Truck was absolutely disgusting! Smelled like cigarettes, rotten food, and body odor. I also reserved the truck for a different location but it was closed and when I called Uhaul, the customer service left me extremely underwhelmed. They wouldn’t let me drop it off at the original site which was closest to my home. Customer service was non-existent. Seems like you didn’t care if I would ever use a Uhaul service again. As of now, I will not. Unacceptable.

There was a issue with the mileage , the truck was on 9,000 something, when I got back it was 6,000 something which totally confused the attendant, he had no idea what to do, idk why it did this, google maps gave exactly mileage I added 20 miles for 2 stops off highway to get gas and trip to baldwinville and back, I was being generous adding 20 miles for attendant, what a joke the amount of my bill, pretty sure I won’t use Uhall again
