We had to wait in line for 20+ minutes waiting to check in. It took so long as there we only two employees behind the desk, but at least 3 were people standing around doing nothing. The service was crap. We ordered a dolly with our truck, it wasn’t there. I called to tell them and they said they would remove it and refund me, they did not. The friendly and helpful employee at the Queens Woodside location was able to though.

I returned the vehicle with more than enough gas and was still charged for it. I called the complaint hotline and am waiting to hear back form them. This branch has improved over the past few years, but I had a problem this time and hope to get my $15 bucks back. It's really annoying to have to give time to such a minor problem, but I should not have been charged.

Staff were dis-engaged. I believe this was because there were not enough of them to handle the customers. That disengagement began a poor experience with the counterperson. She made a great effort to remedy and turned around what could have went poorly into something much more worthwhile and positive so good for her. The man who got my van didn't smile, didn't talk. The man who took my return spoke very little. What would help is some engagement training, additional staff to help them...

There was a lot of confusion as to where the keys were located among staff. My truck was available but it was blocked by another truck. Staff had a hard time locating my keys and the truck in front of me. Overall the online system is very seamless and I would absolutely order again.

This was a super frustrating experience. First, it was very difficult to find a van that the online check in suggested. The vans were spread out over a huge area and most of them were not accessible. The app only provides the serial number, but nothing about the location. After a frustrating 20 minutes I finally found a van with the serial number that matched the self service check in, but then I had to go back to the rental counter and wait anyways. After waiting they couldn't even find the keys. Every employee that I spoke with was not helpful or sympathetic to how long I had been waiting. Ultimately it took over 45 minutes to drive off. A few days before I used a cargo van from Zipcar. The pickup process with Zipcar literally took less than a minute.

This location was horribly run and under-staffed. The workers were in a constant state of confusion. There were 6 people in front of me in line when I arrived and I had to wait OVER AN HOUR to complete the checkout process. This is by far the worst uhaul experience I have ever had. I have rented uhauls from gas stations with 1 employee that were 100x more efficient than this hellhole.

There was a huge line and it was incredibly slow. I was able to bypass the line with my app but I had to wander the parking lot to try to find my van - it was completely unorganized and the people working there were totally unhelpful. By luck we found a van with a matching number squeezed between two other vans and it took even more time to pull it out. It was chaotic, frustrating and not a good experience at all.

We had a horrific moving experience with U-Haul that was unecessarily complicated and enraging. Please fix your app and reservation system and better train your staff to be kind to people and care about their job. I hired movers at a certain time and got a truck for that time from down the block in crown heights, but as we were self picking up and confirming with the app, someone else was being handed a key to the same truck. App is useless you still have to go to the desk. Person at desk said we were double booked and said there were no more trucks but no initiative was taken to help find another truck. He just said he has nothing to do with the app. I had to call the field manager myself with the number from the app and have them reserve a can at the park slope location. No texts or confirmations went through about the reservation change and had to call back and forth with field manager until he told me to call regional myself. Finally got a confirmation that a truck was reserved, went to park slope and there was a giant line 20 plus people but only three staff. Regional Said we just had to show that we completed the app and show them to get key but the staff said nope you have to wait in line. Some staff being rude and partially treating people based on race. staff didn't seem like they cared about helping ppl through the line faster--took their time typing and looking around with a dont-give-a-fuck attitude. Extremely slow service --we waited 2 hours only to learn when regional rescheduled our reservation they took off my partner as a driver and he wasn't allowed to pick up. I was back at the apartment with the movers who couldn't do anything but wait until the reunion truck arrived. We originally reserved and went to pick up the truck at 11am to be done with moving by 1pm, but because of all the shit with uhaul, we didn't get to actually pick up the truck until after 2pm, and because of the location we didn't get to start packing the truck until 2:45 and end until 6. Horrible horrible experience. Please train your staff to be more proactive and caring to help people not just be at their job.

Everyone here is really nice, but I had reserved on line, it was a little bit annoying when my van wasn't really accessible and I had to wait a while for other trucks to get moved out of the way. But at least the staff took care of it after a few minutes and got me on my way.

It's a summer weekend and everyone is moving you only have 2 people working the counter? Not only that, neither seemed to care that there 6 people standing in line. Why do you tell me that I just "cut the wait in half" online only for me to have to stand in line for 45 mins? What a joke. I rented last weekend as well and the same thing happened so I'm pretty sure this is the normal operation. This is a service business and your goal should be to move people as quickly as possible through the queue. Also if you need to provide 2 phone numbers for verification, you should state this up front. Half the people in line were scrambling to find someone to call. As a 73-year-old brand, you should know better by now. Read your reviews, think about your customer and what they are having to do. This is what great brands understand. If you want help, call me. This is what I do for a living for brands around the world.

The employees was rushing me.. totally unprofessional. They didn’t weigh in my options as far as what to get according to what I was hauling. The guys outside just need to either find another job they are passionate about or just Quit the Job. They almost made me regret cisitinf that location.. guess what they did. Never Again.

I waited for 30 minutes in line with 8 people in front of me. I think you need to figure out how to speed up checkin. I also was surprised at you requiring 3 different phone numbers... that felt pretty intrusive. Returning the equipment was quick/painless, but checkin was a bad experience.

I waited an 1 1/2 online to check in and pick up the rental it was ridiculous and outrageous the set up this location has for customer to pickup is unbelievable. People time is precious and no one should have to wait an hour and a half online to pick up a rental I will never rent anything from U-Haul.
