I felt the service at the location was very nice, but the app allowed me to set up remote pickup, but I wasn't told until 90 minutes before they needed me to come pick it up that they didn't have it available there. If it's not available there, then the app shouldn't let me be able to choose that for that location.

It's out of the way in a warehouse-type area..signs everywhere saying even if you are returning, don't park here? So? What are you supposed to do? We pulled into the lot anyway and were helped but it was a little intimidating

It’s typical Brooklyn. Not too fond of Brooklyn. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I believe the owner stole my $500 sunglasses as he was putting the van away. I forgot to get them from the front and when he parked it 5 mins later they were gone. He kept telling me how he was a good guy and this other customer was really bad and he was going to talk to that customers boss. I know he is lying

The guy is always super helpful and nice

The truck I reserved was not available for pick up.

At the last minute (one day before the move) I got a call to tell me that the box truck I had ordered was not going to be available, and that only a small van was left as an alternative. Because it was the last day of the month, every Uhaul and competitor in the city was booked at this point. Because the van was too small to fit all my stuff in one trip, I had to do two trips (actually three - I had to leave a few smaller things at my old apartment and take an Uber XL later at night). I was moving alone and into a walk-up so I hired movers to help -- having to do two trips doubled the time/cost of the movers from 2 hours to 4 hours and made the move incredibly expensive. Uhaul's bait and switch cost me $250 dollars. It also delayed me moving out of the apartment, which was problematic for my landlord who had hired contractors to maintenance before the next tenant moved in -- I will lose some of my security deposit b/c items were not cleaned and removed in time. An issue like this has happened every time I use Uhaul -- if only you gave better guarantees that the confirmed vehicle would be available, and warnings further in advance that a vehicle will not be available to allow time to make alternative arrangements. I had no issues with the Slope Storage location specifically, which genuinely seemed to do their best to help, but the global uhaul system is so unreliable I will do my best to never use Uhaul again.

When a customer orders a truck a week in advance and confirms it 3 days Early and get a confirmation that it’s guaranteed to be there and it’s not I’ve sent to a second location on Hylan Boulevard which is actually closed at 7 o’clock in the morning and is it opening and I’m told it 8 o’clock to go to Brooklyn for 9 o’clock to rent one at 9 o’clock so I incurred $65 in tolls and wasted two hours of my time pay for four guys to work the load his truck while I played games running around in Brooklyn I think the service is terrible and I will be calling up to complain

The location that I eventually made my pickup at was fine. The employees were cordial and the truck was in good shape. However I am very dissatisfied with the overall UHAUL experience. The first location I was sent to (which was not the location I requested) did not have the vehicle I requested, despite having made a confirmation call with me. That location operator was, rude, dismissive, and hands-y. I waited on hold for 40 minutes with UHAUL customer service to handle the issue. The call resolved with me being offered a $50 credit to my account and a different (smaller) vehicle than the one I asked for which I had to travel to the other side of the city to pick up. The did not, however, discount my ultimate bill the $50 dollars I was told they would. Instead I am being told that I have to wait two weeks for them to mail me a check. This, to me, is an unacceptable and easily avoidable disappointment.

Overall U-Haul online really screwed up and I should get a partial refund. I made a reservation to pick up van on 10th street in Manhattan. Got there and they don’t have vans, ever! Had to Uber to get van in Brooklyn because ultimately we wanted to go there. Had to come back to Manhattan deliver my daughters furniture and then drive back to Brooklyn to return the van! Then had to Uber back to Manhattan! I spent $50 more in Uber’s because of your screw up. I was never notified that I’d have to get the van elsewhere and you had cancelled my order for some reason! Very unhappy with your service and want a refund!

I will never recommend Uhaul based on this experience, and if I can help it, I won't use it either. This isn't based specifically on the location, though. I made a reservation for 9 am on the hottest day of the year so far, to pick up a van around the corner from my home. I was called the night before and informed that I couldn't get a van until 3, and I had to commute literally across the borough. That cost me money, lots of time and help, since my friends weren't able to rearrange their schedules. It also cost additional fees for mileage, since I was charged to drive the van back and forth to Gowanus, which is not close to where I live at all. Even after confirming the 3:00 pick up time, I then received an email that I wouldn't actually be able to pick up my van until 4:00, which means I had to START moving at 4 pm. In New York City. Nowhere in the email or notifications was there ever a mention that the location closed at 4, but I left in time to get there by 4. Unfortunately, the MTA had a 20 minute delay, after which the location called to tell me they were about to close. Thankfully, the employee there agreed to stay and wait on me, as I didn't arrive until almost 4:30. Aside from her willingness to wait, the entire experience was awful, frustrating and disappointing.

Long line, but people were helpful and tried to be as fast as possible.

It was good especially because I reserved online. When I first arrived at the U-Haul place, there was an exceedingly long line. I was able to skip the line because of my reservation. It was the end of the month and moving time.

The drop off location was unclear/unattended. I was charged extra miles. I contacted the email provided to have it corrected but I did not get a response

Computer system was down and I waited at the counter for 2 hours. Women working was unwilling to find a solution so I could rent the truck. Ended up requiring me to return truck in Brooklyn which meant double the tolls and gas. She also didn’t update my file so when I returned the truck, they tried to charge me extra for returning at wrong location and using extra miles. Multiple hour delay required me to pay for more expensive and further storage unit.
