Your checkin method was taxing. I realize doing it thru an app and not having a live person in front of you is ideal in many situations, but this time it was tough. First I had to allow location on my phone. Even though I correctly finished each step, your app still would not recognize any allowance. It was frustrating because I had to change everything in the account to my boyfriend’s information in order to utilize his phone. We finally got past that to the next step, finding the vehicle. Even though there were only 3 to choose from, all 3 did not have their id number on them in the place U-Haul said they would (on the vehicle). It took several minutes (and frustrated arguing) for us to determine which truck was actually ours. Okay, found it. When we went to the lockbox to get the key, we realized we needed a code that we were not given. After searching thru every email and web page we gave up and called the place that we were picking up from. A kind man answered and directed back to uhauls cust service line, we are guessing he just can’t pass out that information. Understandable. We call and get the code and spend several minutes, again, trying to unlock with this code that obviously wasn’t working. We called the kind man back to confirm the code, which he did, and he also informed us on how to finagle the lock just perfectly in order for it to open. I had no idea locks like those were so incredibly sensitive. After spending well over an hour trying to checkin. An hour we did not have unfortunately, we hopped in our truck to get going. It was immaculately clean and ran smooth as butter. When we arrived and opened the back we were greeted with a very clean space and tons of moving blankets, which we were incredibly grateful for. All in all I would give a rare of 4 out of 5. I would give that last one if U-Haul strongly urged you to fill out all information it would need at pickup, especially if you are time crunched or would like to avoid stress and aggravation on a day that usually already has enough of the both. Thank you, I would use U-Haul again. Especially since I’ve already done it once. Next time will be a breeze. 🤗
