Jarrett at U-Haul 375 Hwy 74 S; Peachtree City acted unprofessional and rude towards my sister and I as I was surrendering my storage. My sister Charlotte had rented a truck and got a free storage with her rental. Jarrett was acting confused regarding the free storage units and said that he would have to call his manager. What he was stating to her was incorrect and when I attempted to correct what he was saying, he rudely fanned his hand at me to shut up. My sister and I shocked that he did this and if she didn’t need the truck and storage I would have walked out and reported him as I am now. He stated that he could not transfer the storage unit over to my sister and that she’s have to get another unit and we move all the items in a new unit. He repeatedly asked us the same information and when I stated that he’s already asked us, he sarcastically said, well I’ve got to ask you the same thing so it’s nothing to it. Nevertheless, he gave my sister a storage about five doors down when it was one the exact same size right across from mine empty. He only did the storage and we had to ask him again for the rental truck that gave her the free storage. He says oh yeah and then gives her the truck. I paid for her truck rental which was $52.27. I used my card. They gave her a truck larger than what she needed. She told the lady when reserving that she didn’t need the large size truck and the lady said well you can change it for something smaller. Well she requested for a smaller truck and Jarrett got her one. He readjusted the rental and the new cost was $41.57 having a refund due to me. I asked him was he going to give me a refund at the time and he said no that I’d receive my refund when she returned the truck. He told us to leave the truck under the canopy and keys in the drop box. We did and my sister received her confirmation that they received the truck back. However, by the afternoon, I still did not see my refund posted to my card for the over charge. So I went back to the office and spoke with Jade Dickie explaining our experience and disappointment as well as me not receiving my refund for the truck size change. She proceeded to go into the computer saying she understood what he did and would process my refund—she then proceeded to tell me that I could get a refund because we wen over mileage which happen to be the amount charged on my card already. We did not go over mileage and she insisted trying to tell me why want due a refund. She then said—I can give you the $10 but you returned the truck a few over mileage. I politely asked for my paperwork back and told her that she could keep the price difference. This is not true and dishonest just as Jarrett married our trucks tank was full when it was missing a whole quarter tank in which took a picture. I told him it wasn’t full and so did his co-worker. He reprinted the paper after changing the truck size remarking gas filling. Jarrett said I would get a refund while Jade said I wouldn’t. What was surprising was how could you charge me for what I had not done yet. $52.27 is what was charged on my card. My refund total should have been $10.70 and Jade said that my refund covered the over mileage charging me $52.76 or so. This amounts don’t add up and from the paid receipt amount of $52.27 and her amount of $52.76 or so didn’t make up an almost $11 difference. I wasn’t going to argue as I just got my paperwork and left. Jade then calls my sister Charlotte trying to justify what she did and my sister told her how they were unprofessional and did not handle things properly. She states Jarrett’s behavior also and that Jarrett told us that my sister would get w refund for the truck difference size. Jade then tells my sister that she’s going to give my refund of $10.70 and that it would take about a week or so for it to post. I WILL never use recommend U-Haul. She pretended to be surprised by Jarrett’s behavior saying it was out of character but she would talk to him. Well someone should speak with them both and address the unprofessionalism and games they’re trying to play. What seemed to be just a bad day now seemed like normal behavior. Disappointing and should I need a truck or storage in the future, I will gladly utilize another company who values and respect their customers. All is forgiven for both Jarrett and Jade but not forgotten. I will not patronize such places. It wasn’t very much traffic there at the Peachtree City location anyway and perhaps people didn’t need storages or needed to go elsewhere to companies that values their business. They didn’t just magically travel from our old house to the storage unit to our new house… I filed a complaint and I have not heard from any one at all about it. We deserve some sort of compensation so we can cover the cost to get all of these bugs exterminated. As I stated in my previous review about the truck, I will never use U Haul again and I will tell my friends and family to never use U Haul again. U Haul has made our moving experience absolutely atrocious all around!
