The truck was in very poor condition. It was filthy inside and out, they did not clean the truck. When I climbed in, all I could see is dog hair and dirt all over the place. Heater vent was broken on the driver side and they decided to fix it with an air freshener shoved into the side of it. The steering wheel, the dash & the door handles all sticky and gummy, used mask on the passenger's seat. I took upon myself to disinfect the truck. For what is going on in this world today, it is a disgraceful thing to see that Uhaul Yellowhead did not care or take consideration of the well-being of their customers. I would never recommend this place.Chase J.

I won't recommend uhaul to anyone. I booked a 2bedroom cube truck and the gave me a small cargo van. How are are you supposed to fit two couches in a cargo van? After I made the booking they tried to call me back to say the 2 bedroom cube truck wasn't available. They kept calling the wrong number when I gave them all my proper information. I canceled the rental a rental through Penske. Uhaul has messed up my rental 3x. Uhaul is a joke.Darwin L.
When I booked, I booked through the Westlock site and was told that they relocated my pickup to this site so I had to travel 75km to pick it up. When I got there to pick it up by mobile pickup it took me over an hour to check out. Systems went down for maintenance in the middle of processing my payment and showed a charge on my Visa yet I had to pay again when I went inside to sort it out. It took about four attempts to input all my information and credit card info. I was told that the dollies and furniture blankets were not available but I was not told ahead of time and some furniture suffered damage because of this. When I returned the vehicle after putting gas in it we were told it was not enough gas. I find it strange that vehicle ma aren't returned full to make this process easy and accurate. I received a strange email from the manager that started out with â€œwhat I was trying to say is thatâ€¦.â€ I don't understand what he was talking about because I never once spoke with him, I only dealt with an employee named Mercedes. The email was strange and not professional. The charges were pending on my account from the first charge and I was instructed to call the billing office to clear it up. When I called it was a 2hour wait time which I did not have time for nor did I feel this was my issue to clear up since it as the companies error. All in all it was not a good experience at all. The truck was the highlight. It was clean and ran well.Sarah R.

I rented a 26 foot uhaul for 24 hours tried to pick it up at 1:45 and when I got there the battery was dead. Finally sent some random guy out who didn't have a click nor clue, finally he got it hooked up and 35mins later I was on my way. Still had to have the truck returned at 1:45 but yet I couldn't even leave until 30-35mins later. No I'm sorry for the hold up or we will change the time to make sure I did have it for the full time. But I guess ya just pay for it is all they care about. The lady behind the desk asked me how many miles I told her not sure but it will be about 160 km, she says that's easy 100 miles. Well I only went 110 km and still had to pay another $17 before returning it. Not sure why but I didn't use all the kilometers I thought I would so they should off reimbursed me close to $50. But nothing. Very annoyed at the way they run there service.Tina N.

My only problem with this pickup was that I was given the wrong truck and had to exchange it after I had put 144.00 dollars worth of gas in it and as of now have not received my money back Paul lovegrovePaul L.
Van was dirty in the back. Blankets weren't available when we checked in. Computer system kept freezing, checkin took 1.25 hours. Return location was incorrect. Was told if i filled fuel more than original level i would get a credit but didn't.Ronald H.

it would help to make sure tank was full. I only had less than a 1/4 tank of gas that barely got me to my house.....having a full tank at start would also help in filling at end instead of trying to guess where 1/4 tank was. I was also told that for a 2 day rental the daily would be more but it included free KM's, instead I was charged 2 days plus KM's. Maybe worked out to same. GraciasGeoff B.

I picked up trailer and found lights burned out .after waiting for an hour i was told no one could help me out.I took trailer home and changed lights my self.I only needed trailer for 1 day and was told if i dropped it off early i would get a credit .I returned the trailer 24 hours after i picked it up but was still charged for 4 days.Harvey V.

The truck had not been checked over. Within 2 hours I had to add 2 liters of oil. The person at Yellowhead told me there was an appliance dolly, there was not. I had to go to 3 different locations to get the truck and equipment I needed.Lillian M.

I spent an hour and 15 minutes on your website trying to register a simple move the process was far too complex and there was many wild goose chases and dead ends there must be an easier way to get the information that people need without having them fill out all the forms you should sit down with someone beside them while they try and register a move on the internet don't help them see how long it takes them to get it done I'm sure you'll notice many stumbling places that could be easily correctedRobert G.
1. Location is quite tight for dropping off trailer 2. I have problem opening and closing the sliding door 3. The trailer is too heavy for unloading after office hour with one person. A mechanical system should be installed with this unitDavis L.

Worst experience ever, picked up on Wednesday at 15:45 and dropped off at 23:30 on Friday and they charged me for 4 days... Called the location and they said there was nothing they could do for me... Poor customer service...Jeremy P.

In stony plain my credit card kept falling out of the insert on the machine. Resulting in my cards being denied. Causing great hassle in payment. For returning The address states n.w. Edmonton. I think the address should say Acheson. As we got lost returning the uhaul. Driving around Edmonton until I called and the guy was helpful in informing us where they are ACTUALLY located. with all the driving around to find this place I ended up having to pay 42$ in gasoline. Bc no gas station nearby. Shelly in tomahawk is amazing. As she took it upon herself to find me the closest van and had everything arranged for me. Thank You Shelly. As I originally wanted to pick up in tomahawk. But no trucks available. No trucks available in drayton or entwistle So was a hassle to have to pick up in stony plain. Not impressed with uhaul as a company and hopefully don't have to use them againkandas V.

Please educate employees better. I had wrong size ball on hitch. Employee first sold me the proper ball but couldn't help me change it. Employee did all he could do to accommodate this but didn't tell me I could buy hitch from Uhaul. Many hours were wasted figuring this out. Had to drive into Edmonton to find Uhaul dealer, bought a hitch, only to return to original dealer to see he had one for sale. Original location was hard to find. Uhaul trailer had loose wiring and 1 light would not work.Dyan H.

What a horrible company. We were overcharged due to a screwup on uhauls end, it took longer than normal to pick up the truck and we had to go farther than what was promised to us originally. My original booking was with a different uhaul location (13432 143 Ave). That location did not have a truck available for me despite having booked the truck a month in advance. Luckily I was able to get a truck from this location but I had to go with a larger truck.Stephen H.

This location was good. What I do want to mention is that my initial location was on 154 st 111 AV. When I got there I found out that my unit had a dead battery and wasn't charging properly. Not sure if previous customer left lights on or what. Staff called me pushing the pick up time to 1 pm. They had the wrong number and I never found that out till I got there. That I find a poor way of doing business as I had people waiting for me to help me pack etc. I understand that issues may arise but as a business uhaul should have options to help in unexpected situations like that. I do want to say that when I explained To staff I couldn't wait till one, they made multiple phone calls, and they went above and beyond to get me a truck by checking multiple times every location or option available. Finally they were able to find me a unit at the above location. I hope the two ladies at the 111 AV 156 st location are let know of the GREAT service I received from them as well as their manager. Despite the little inconvenience, which they made up for it, I was very pleased which the way they handled it and treated me as a customer. I would definitely go back there as my first option in the future or recommend it to anyone!! Thanks Luis SalgadoLuis S.

There are many services available that compliment the uhaul rental. There was virtually no waiting in lines and check the n and out was delivered faster than expected. Shannon the attendant was particularly friendly and helpful which made my move easier. I appriciate the service and had a positive experience.Jon H.
The booking was horrendous..kept getting transfered and no answer/cut off. At first told no auto hauler available then found one. Then a different location than told for pick up..then wrong date for pickup.. very arduous time ..nice people just difficult time getting through and correct booking..I rent a lot from uhaul ..always difficult..good staff in sylvan lake and yellow head storagecarol L.
1st of all our original reservation at another location for 11 am was not there. We then had to scramble to find another trailer for 4:30 at this location. The trailer ws very dirty especially the ramps - caked sand or mud - lots!!!! As it was being used to haul a race car , when we loaded the car after the races with warm tires - that crud is now baked into my tires. The rep at yellowhead says this is our fault for not inspecting the trailer. My fault? Really?? Messed up reservation - dirty equipment - my fault huh. NOT IMPRESSED! !!!!!!Gary N.

Not lose my reservation on my move day would help. I was fine with going to a different location where they had the truck I needed. .. which was much further away and asked for some sort of discount because of uhaul's screw up and was told no. So I ended up paying for the extra kilometers out of pocket. Guess I should have triple checked with you guys.Andrew R.

The staff was friendly and that's where the good in this experience ended. I'll start with Uhaul as a whole, I booked a 12 foot enclosed trailer, they didn't have one. So without telling me they booked me a 12 foot open trailer. At a location on the opposite side of the city. The location left me a voice mail telling me their was no enclosed trailers in the city, closest one was 4 hours away. Curious as to how that $50 garauntee works? So I waited on hold for 25 minutes and was late getting back to work AND STILL DIDN'T GET TO TALK TO ANYONE! So I had to call my girlfriend and get her to take care of things for me. She called the 118a ave location directly and they said they had a 17 foot truck we could rent. Was not my first choice as the trailer would have been half the price. But I took the truck anyways. When I picked it up the machine would not work, tried multiple times, finally she just used the regular debit to take a $100 hold. Ended up being $73 so I sent my girlfriend 20-25km each way to get the difference. They charges us for the dolly and moving mats despite we never used them so she went back. Surprise, the machine doesn't work AGAIN! So I still do not have my money back and now it's my problem to drive there this weekend to get my money back. You guys charge $0.69/km. I charge $0.49/km to make trips back to deal with uhaul non sense. My girlfriend already made a trip their once, I'll be going back this weekend. Sure hope I'll be getting back more than my $27 back. The $50 for not having what you garunteed you would have and didn't would be a start. We can discuss the inconvenience factor and unnecessary milage on my girlfriends car and my truck as well. I hope to never have to use uhaul ever again.Spencer W.

Waited over an hour because a light was out even though we had reserved three weeks before they couldn't even offer a different trailer as it was literally the only one in the city at any location , it's always a nightmare dealing with any UhaulCLINTON P.
Computers were very slow and not working well. Took about 45 minutes just to collect our information and we had to go over it multiple times as the Internet repeatedly stopped working. The gas level recorded was not correct initially and our original location was changed the day prior to pick up by uhaul. However, the staff were helpful and friendly.JULIE S.
