Check in was difficult and ended up having to call customer support because of a problem with my pick up location. Support was awesome!! Got everything sorted out quickly! Drop off was fair, big communication / language barrier. Thank You U-Haul, the truck was clean and well maintained. Will rent again!!

Tried renting through the app but wouldn't let me "check in". So I had to go inside and that took longer than expected. I was planning on paying $78.00 like it said on the app, NOPE, paid $101 ad some change. Then when I went to return it because I only needed it for a few hours, I was charged another $8.13. I asked him why and he told me it's their fee. I had to shut my card off because I'm afraid they are going to keep charging me like another company is when I'm not even using their service.

We had purchased boxes and were told the U-Haul would buy them back. This location will only pay you a flat amount per box. When I added up what we paid for the unused boxes and what the would pay me it was about a $50 difference. We are going to call a different location to see what their pricing is a used new boxes. I call 1-800 U-Haul and was told each location sets their prices on buying back boxes. This wasn't mentioned when we bought them ask about the buyback. We were told that the location we were dropping off at had no assistance to unhook the dolly. That was not a problem. There had been slushy snow that had frozen on there lot. It did not appear that there had been anything done to clean the lot or even put done any salt or sand. It was very slick and the frozen ice was very uneven. I nearly fell several times taking the blankets and 2 wheel cart into the location building.

Took way too long to pick up a trailer that was pre rented. Clerk seemed to not know what was going on and kept running off to check out other people as this was also a gas station and only one person working. 30+ minutes to pick up trailer and no help hooking it up.

Trailer worked well! Tires low on pressure when picked up. Tire straps are about due for replacement from uv exposure. One tail light out. Other than that worked perfectly and got job done flawlessly! Thank you for your service's

The employee was rude when trailer was picked up in the Columbia City (CC) XPress Food Mart 2 located. He barely acknowledged that someone even came through the door. I also ordered 12 packing pads to rent and paid for them but they were never provided and my fiancee forgot to ask for them. I was still charged for the pad rental and am now left with dealing with getting a reimbursement for renting them, plus making sure I am not charged at the drop off location in Wayland since they were not in the trailer at drop off. Each pad is $6 a piece to replace x 12 = $72. I called the CC location 3x and no answer. Left a VM; no return call. Also, the employees at the U-Haul location in Wayland are also a bit ... unfriendly. They are helpful but in my experience of doing business there for 13+ years -- not super friendly. The two owners (mom and son) are a bit unapprocachable and have many rude comments to customers. They just are not friendly individuals. A few of my friends have said the same thing so it is not my imagination. Maybe a bit if a "superior" attitude.

My pick up time for my rental was 4:45. I arrived earlier than my scheduled time so the vehicle inspection could be preformed. It was an hour later before I was able to leave with my rental due to it not being there for pick up. Not only that but the guy that assisted me was rude. He kept telling me I needed another form of payment because he couldn't run the card I placed on file for this reservation. I needed to use the restroom which he stated was closed which I later found out from the employee running the register that this was not true that they just didn't like people using their restroom. This is a public gas station pick up station!

I unhooked trailer where I was instructed and asked for receipt. Was told receipt was emailed to me. After a while I asked for a receipt again. Said he would print me one then said he could not. Asked him to email again. Did not receive. Said to come back sometime and maybe he could get a receipt. Told him to call uhaul to get me a receipt. He said he would not do it, so I called Uhaul direct . She promptly sent me a receipt and was courteous. Local dealer did represent uhaul very poorly and would not recommend to anyone.

I went to pick up a 6x12 trailer. I was right in the middle of the rental process and the clerk decided to go help the 10 people needing cigarets and checked out. So i was there a half hour just to get it rented There was nobody there to help hook it up and the trailer number was not even on the lot. I also rented a utility dolly when I got it to where I was going I realized they had strapped 2 dollies together. When I took it back they charged me for the second dolly because of their laziness. Never ever would I rent something there again I'd drive to Ft Wayne first

The attendant did not help with the return. Just pointed to where to put the trailer. Did not communicate the return process! I can’t imagine trying to pick up a trailer from there! He was the only one there & didn’t want to come out & leave the convenience store unattended!

Store Clerk would not check our return in at first because he said he was too busy. Promised it would he checked in when he had the chance. Not cool because it would have been checked in late. Had to argue with him to do his job and check the truck in on time.

The guy I returned the truck to was lazy, hard to understand, seemed like I was annoying him, had no customer service experience, and was generally a dud. IF I rent from UHaul again, I will only deal with Corporate stores, not foreign owned, gas station type UHaul dealers.

The guy was rude and kept trying to push a bigger trailer and longer time when we told him exactly what we needed. Also tried to tell us we needed something different than what we knew we needed I will not be going back there and I will not tell anybody I know to go there

I love the ease of being able to rent a U-Haul in short notice to pick up something I can’t fit into a car. It’s nice to have this option locally. This location has been nice to have in town and everything has worked and truck was clean and well maintained. Thank you.

On website says open until 6 p.m. but cashier told me nope they stop at 3 P.M. so guess you have some at a gas station just to do uhaul and they leave early Sundays

Change the brakes on the trucks more often and clean the inside the cab after every use. It was gross and sticky and had trash in it from previous users.

Yes, I would recommend this place to someone if it was the closest location. I would just tell them to be prepared to do everything without assistance if it’s cold. The employee wouldn’t leave the building and were slightly rude.

I rented this trailer for 45 bucksish. 12x6 enclosed for 24 hours, dig? Dude never told me that there was an ongoing issue with the wiring harness or whatever but sure enough the unit's passenger side lighting system wasnt working, leaving me with no right turn signal or break light and unable to use the trailer for the majority of my 24 hour period and i called the District Manager to try to get a working trailer or at least a portion of my money back yet. Lucky i didn't get a ticket pulling thier janky trailer.

Uhaul was dirty and there is a panel in the back that is giving out and is a hazard. Luckily nobody got injured but there will be injuries from this panel likely in the future. Customer service was poor after the first Uhaul I reserved was not available and $50 credit was not applied

The person responsible for rental was not there and I had to wait 15-20 minutes for him to return "from the bank". His demeanor was as if I were intruding on something else to get the rental. I had to buy an adaptor for my lights hook-up which they had in the convenience store. He grabbed it off the shelf, I paid another person at the register. Then he ripped it out of the box and threw the box away. IDK... I've never purchased something and had someone act that way.

The customer experience any time you have to use U-Haul is clunky at best and closer to shady at worst. I understand that you are renting depreciable assets to people who can prove they have a license, a pulse, and a valid credit card, but it can come across like you believe all of your customers are criminals. There are proper channels for dealing with criminals and it isn't your pickup and return process. The number of warning labels on the inside and outside of your trucks prove that for every mistake, there is a syicker The local dealers do their best to navigate this process but they don't always have clear instructions to give to the common peasants who rent your equipment. As one of these common peasants, I understand that the dealer may have 5 other businesses in the same building so my expectations are low. I do my best not to judge the dealer for getting in league with a giant of industry but money is money, I get it.

When ordered the truck I added an appliance dolly. After picking the vehicle up and reaching our destination we realized the dolly was not in the vehicle. We called and talked with the same person I picked the truck up from and he stated he would remove the price of the dolly from our bill. We had to go and rent another one from the local Menards since we were not close to the rental station. We returned the truck on time of the rental agreement but after the person had left the gas station for the night. He told me prior that if it was after 6pm I could just return it on-line. He failed to tell me what all was required for on-line returns and I did not know all the pictures that was required and information needed until after I had already turned the key into the lock box which I could not get back to properly fill out all that was needed for the return. A few days later when I received the final bill from U-Haul it still had the $10 for the appliance dolly listed. I went to the gas station and talked to the same gentleman and reminded him that we had called the day we picked up the vehicle and he said he would remove the $10 fee but I was told I would have to take it up with U-Haul. I told him that when we filled out the return on-line we checked that we did not agree with the total due to the $10 fee and just asked if he could change the final amount to reflect the removal of the $10 fee, again he said I had to take it up with U-Haul and it wasn't his responsibility and he wouldn't take it off the final bill. I told him I was not impressed with the way he handled the issue and walked out. As far as dealing with that gas station or the other 2 they own in my town I will never do business with them again, very unprofessional dealing with clients with a simple question. As far as using U-Haul again...I have used them a few times over the years but if they are going to contract with people like this then I will be re-thinking using them in the future. It's not that $10 is going to break me financially its the fact how it was handled by someone who owns a business that I'm sure would want to maintain repeat customers and the fact that he is a representative of U-Haul. Overall the vehicle was fine and worked but the customer interaction was handled poorly.

Have the return website fixed. I rented a trailer, and upon return, it kept asking for mileage, gas, and odometer photo... can't happen on a trailer.

The truck was not ready, it had a check engine light, the brake pedal was not smooth and would stick, the connection to the trailer lights did not work for the brakes or turn signals. It took over and hour to final get switched to a different truck and that one was not much better, it had issues maintaining idle and died a couple time slowing to a stop. It did restart easy though.

Improve customer service. Gas station attendant did not care, nor did the individuals from uhaul with whom I had to deal with in order to find out why the price was so much higher than originally said. I wasted 3 hours getting a trailer, while my movers where sitting around waiting for me, on the clock. When I asked for an additional day, I was charged more. You took my time and my money.

The employee was on the phone through my entire transaction. Thats just disrespectful. I only needed the uhaul for moving a chair and couch from Ball Furniture store to my home a mile away. The transmission light was on in the truck and I would be VERY concerned if I needed this truck for a serious move.
