The man who received the trailer was not in professional attire and not particularly friendly. There was no "checking in" procedure at all. I delivered the trailer at 8:45am Friday and it is 6:30pm Saturday now. He told me that I would be issued an email verifying that I had returned the trailer. When I tried to call Xavier I got a recording stating that the phone number posted on Uhaul.com, (803) 285-6178, was no longer in service.William S.

Problems started the week before when no site within 15 miles had the truck I had been promised. This time, a truck was available, but when I took the truck, I had been told that there was a quarter of a tank of gas; but when I pulled out on the highway, I could see that there was less than 1/8th of a tank. The warning message for low fuel came on after 5 miles, so I added a gallon of gas. I returned the truck after my 13 mile usage, but received no printed receipt, just a promise that it would be e-mailed later. When it arrived there was a charge for 8 gallons of gas for a $66.00 fee. The same receipt showed that I had only driven the truck 13 miles!Jon L.

I did want to comment on the truck, as the transmission may need some attention, it was slipping out of gear, going down the road, going from Drive to the M mode and roaring! I would put back in Drive and it would be fine for awhile and then slip out again!ROBIN W.

When I picked up uhaul I confirmed my drop off point with uhaul employee, he said â€œ you can drop it at any location â€œ . Well that's not true and a HUGE hassle after hours. We had to drive extra 30 minutes one way to another location. You should allow extra mileage if you don't have a truck available at location customer chooses and has to go further, not customers fault and than you charge extra money for mileageâ€¦.Pamela B.

My location was moved to this location involuntarily from Cane Creek BP location and this location was much further from me Truck smelled like smoke, Uhaul Rep response was "don't worry about it" Truck had significant damage that was not marked UHaul Rep refused to print me an invoice on-site even though I questioned charges, said I had to retrieve through my email and contact Uhaul A $42 SafeMove charge was added without permission, I even in asked why charge was over quote and was told it was lease tax and I would have to contact UHaul Location is dark especially insideBernard L.
This location operator engaged in deceptive sale of the insurance (safe move) to me even though I had declined it , preferring to use my own insurance. The contract was not printed out and was only available via online download which deprived me of finding out immediately that he had actually added the safe move insurance contrary to my request. This is very underhanded , and disingenuous to pad the bill. I will not recommend anybody to do business with this location.KATHY G.

The owner put the wrong mileage on the paper work. We had pictures and all, and U-haul still did nothing to change it. We had a horrible time at first getting the u-haul because we rented it and then went to pick it up and Xavier said he didn't have anything available for us. One call and u-haul changed that. I should have known then not to rent from him. Then he put the wrong mileage on the paperwork and they charged us $100 over our usage. He scams people because he makes a 30% profit off of it. Do NOT go here to rent a u-haul ever. And I'm very disappointed that the u-haul company itself wouldn't help even with pictures for proof.April R.
The drop off in person was fine. Your website - app - and forced online process is horrible. And the wait time for a phone call was over 25 minutes - every single time I called. Make it more welcoming, less quiet and creepy. If I hadn't been with my boyfriend I would have been pretty creeped out as it's in a garage with 2 men who barely spoke to me the majority of the time we were there. The internet was down on the computer I think and it was so slow getting my truck, then they didn't have the keys for the size I was told I would get, which was already bigger than the one I originally requested, so I ended up with a 26' truck instead of a 15. These folks just flipped the truck from one customer to the next (me). To get the truck ready, all they did was unhook a car carrier. The windows and mirrors were so filthy it was nearly impossible to see. I seriously doubt the interior was wiped or sprayed to disinfect.William H.

When I called to reserve my rental i requested 2 days, when I picked up the rental I told them 2 days, still no one could comprehend that. I recieved a call after the first day asking where the truck was. The website for uhaul sucks, it does nothing but take you in circles. Next time I would rather just find another truck to rent, from another company....not to mention the extra fees they dont discuss with you. The place and the guy with the rental was very nice, but I would rather deal with a company that listens to me and discloses all fees with me.MICHAEL W.

The truck was old. It had a lot of visual damage scrapes, dents and repairs. It ran very rough , especially when it was loaded. Very sluggish and jerky ride. It would only go 35 to 40 uphill on the highway, had to put on our flashers. Five times we had to pull off the side of the road, - the engine almost died, check engine lights came on, the other engine light with alarms came on several times.Put off the road for 10 minutes, it would start up again with no problem. I had to add fuel system cleaner three times and use only higher test fuel. Once on the level road it ran better but only if had high test fuel. Do Not use this truck for long distance hauling. - LOCAL Only. Very disappointing, tiring trip moving from North Caroline to Texas.GEORGE B.
