There was equipment in the back that I didn't place on my order. A stack of blankets and a dolly. Normally the dolly is wired to the side of the car but this one was laying in the middle of the cab. It was nice that I didn't get charged for it but they did get in the way a bit and would have preferred if they weren't thereMichael M.

An overall unsatisfactory experience. We arrived at around 8 and it took us an unnecessarily long time to complete the check in process via mobile. When we went in having completed the process we were advised our check-in didn't process because we were late. No-we were sitting out in the cold for over 30 mins simply trying to check in. Needless to mention that they only had 1/2 a dozen pads when I had paid for a dozen as well as only a half tank of gas. We had to go to the main station to pick up more pads which added miles to our allotted miles which we were not advised off upfront. The process is arduous and the whole experience defeated the purpose of doing a mobile pick up.Irene T.
The check in and checkout process is ridiculous. I even did all the pre-registering prior to arrival and check in took over 1/2 an hour and returning it took 45 minutes because of only 1 attendant. Unfortunately he wasn't trained in returns of the UHaul.Scott S.

Molly the clerk was great, the system for checking back in does not work. I never received the instructions on returning the truck, didn't know I had to take pictures of the fuel gauge and the mileage. So I had to walk back to the truck for that and then the system was locked up. So I just left the key with the clerk which I was told to do from the Uhaul store on Hwy K in Ofallon.Steven B.

Took us almost 40 minutes to complete the return. I finally did the return on my phone because the employee couldn't figure out the system or something, no one else was working, and he kept waiting on other customers instead of us, even though we'd be standing there waiting and waiting and waiting.... After a long, tiring day of moving, that was NOT what we wanted to do. Very frustrating end to our U-Haul experience after a great start.LINDA P.
Ordered online, order said I could pick up via phone at 7 am. Could not pick up truck til after 9. Your company LIED TO ME and WASTED HOURS OF MY TIME AND MY MOVING TEAM'S TIME!! HATE YOU FOREVER! I understand that because this location is a part of a gas station that they have to tend to all of their customers. However, if you are in the middle of a transaction, please don't leave me standing there waiting an additional 20 minutes so you can check everyone else out -without explanation. Especially since I saw at least 3 other staff members who could have assisted the other customers. Same thing with answering phone calls during our interaction. Seems as though the location is staffed but only half of the workers are actually working which is bringing the quality down. Also, I found chip wrappers, soda bottles and other junk in the cup holder of the truck I rented.Emily C.

This location was not prepared to meet the needs for uhaul. The attended didn't know how to put on a trailer and I was told to take it to another location to have it checked. When I called the manager he was helpful and sent someone else from another location. When this individual came he was shocked to see how it was hooked up and stated that it would have caused and accident if I would have left. Then he discovered that the lights had a short in them and had to go to another location to get equipment to replace. He was extremely helpful. The overall pick up to an hour and forty minutes. I was told I would be contacted the next day by the manager himself however he has year to reach out. When I went to drop off the equipment the attendant asked who put it on bc the trailer was still not screwed down all the way. I specifically asked if someone would be able to put the trailer on. I had made my reservation with a different location and uhaul called and changed it to this location.Kristen L.

When I arrived the gentleman could not find my reservation. He made a phone call and the person on phone helped him. Was told could not return until after 10 pm because no one would be able to do checkout. No problem I'm easy. Turned in vehicle a little before 10 the young man was very polite and helpful. The system was down to print receipt, I understand I work retail and we have those problems too. My credit was charged overnight $134.02 I believe, my receipt that finally was emailed has a total of $118.06. Overcharged about $16 dollars. Whom do I contact , I'm guessing the location & I wonder what response I'll get ? I work retail and long hours too. Will I have to return after 10 hoping the same you Man is there to give me my credit ? We have used this location numerous times & HwyK also. DVDavid V.

I have been using Uhaul for years for personal use and I have had a pretty good experience each time. I typically got the largest truck every time, and have been happy. Although the gentleman helping me was a kind man, it was frustrating that he kept walking away from me to go help other customers within the store. Before I had ordered the Uhaul I told him that I was moving furniture and asked if the all the trucks had the over head space above the cab like in the pictures and he said yes. With that in mind I decided to go with the $19.99 truck so I could save money. After the long process it took for the the man to finally get me the keys I went outside with the and i saw that the truck did not have the overhead cab. Frustrated already, I realized that I only had a few hours to do this since this was the only night that I could move my sister out of her house. Unfortunately, due to the lack of space I could not fit in my nieces bed, so I had to make two trips instead of one. So I am a little frustrated with the location being in a gas station store and how the man working there had to keep going back and for to help others. Also, with the fact that I spent more money on another 20 mile trip and had to put more fuel in the tank. This won't stop me from using Uhaul again, since this is the only time I have ever had a problem. However, I do hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.Edward O.
We were called at 0655am by the original location and told they did not have the truck we were supposed to pick up that day at 0800. He offered us a smaller truck but it had to be returned by 6pm that night. He switched our location to the Mobile Uhaul down the road bc they had a 26 foot truck that we reserved. When going to pick up the uhaul at this new location, you are picking it up from a gas station) there was 1 clerk trying to help check us out for the Uhaul while stopping to check out gas station customers. After finally getting the truck this location did not have our reserved dolly or blankets so we still had to go to the original location to pick them up. What should have been a smooth process on an already stressful moving day ending up being more stressful and taking a good 2 hours of our morning that could have been used on packing/moving.Audrey B.

I did everything online and it was supposed to be a quick simple pick up my appointment was at like 5:30 got there and I didn't get my truck to almost 630. The computer kept adding insurance I didn't want and they couldn't figure out how to take it off and then it wouldn't add the dolly I needed that I had a reservation for And they had to keep calling someone. Then when my husband went to hand it in after reviewing the charges they had charged us for an extra day for the dolly rental and the use of the truck and nobody at the mobile station could help us they gave us a number of a gentleman to call and I have left two messages and receive no phone calls back.So I'm out an extra $60 that I shouldn't have paid for and nobody at the mobile station can help you because they all just work for Mobil.Karen C.

We were charged for mileage rate over what the reservation was for. It was supposed to be .69 a mile and they said that didn't include weekends but I'm renting from another location this weekend and it is .69.Julie T.

This location is a gas station and do not have enough people to help. Very time taking. I had to pick up furniture pads and dolly from anothe U-Haul store. They did not plan anything and kept things on time. I had to read meter reading myself. Do not recommend to go this U-Haul center. Go to the highway K or Lake St Louis one.Sushil B.

I was really turned off with all of my interactions with employees. They were slow, took brakes to help other customers, and exhibited a lack of professionalism. In the future, i will be driving further to get to a U-Haul Center that is not a part gas station and part U-Haul rental facility.Rebecca L.
Close this location. The staff stated they had been directed to service the convenience store customers and the Uhaul customers would need to wait. I had a reservation and waited for over 30 minutes for the staff to complete their transactions prior to waiting on me. Then when they had customers they interrupted the Uhaul transaction. You need to have a TRAINED staff member to help uhaul customers. There was 1 clerk for the entire gas station when we picked up our trailer at 11am on a Sunday. He couldn't figure anything out and kept getting errors so my husband ended up going through page by page to figure it out. We had pre-checked in. That was a waste of time. There were 4 other people waiting behind us for a rental. Good thing we knew how to hook up the trailer because there was no one to help. I don't think he would know how anyway. I certainly wouldn't trust him hooking it up. The clerk who checked in the trailer a few hours later was not any better. He didn't know how to do any of the paperwork, couldn't run the printer and didn't seem like he was too worried about that. We've always gone to the location on Laura Hill in O'Fallon but thought this would be closer. We won't be making that mistake again! Back to Laura Hill for us!David B.

This is from a year ago and the review email got lost in my junk mail, but I had such a bad experience that when I found the email it was worth re-visiting. First off, when I went to pick up the truck I was advised to check and make sure the amount of fuel marked on the paperwork matched the amount on the fuel gauge in the actual truck. Well they didn't, so I went back in and the kid who'd advised me to check had NO IDEA how to handle it if that situation actually popped up! He didn't have a supervisor there that he could ask, so he said he'd just make a note on the paperwork . When I actually get to my destination, I find that the 2 furniture dollys I ordered aren't there! There's 1 utility dolly, but that's not what I needed. Fortunately my moving guys had equipment they could use. Then when I go to drop the truck off at the end of the day, I advise the girl behind the counter that I didn't get the equipment I needed and reiterated my issue with the fuel gauge. She said there wasn't anyone from Uhaul there at that time, but she would leave them a note. And guess what-- I was still charged for the difference in fuel and the 2 dollys I didn't get. I've had good experiences with different locations in the past, but this pretty much ruined my opinion of Uhaul overall so I wouldn't ever use Uhaul again.Shelby P.

Bothe the morning and evening staff who I picked up from and dropped off were poorly trained to work with the system. Morning did not understand I was informed by the app to get the keys from her and tried to go through the entire setup process. Evening staff for the return could not check my vehicle back in since I did not have my phone with me and could not use the app. They asked me to sign a piece of paper and told me they would transfer over the signature to the finished order after they figured out what was wrong. They never closed out the order and I had to call the next day and speak with a district manager. He was very helpful but the overall process was very sloppy and irritating. I would not recommend using the satellite stores to any friends or family. I would suggest going to a stand alone U-Haul store.Matt S.

I rented the truck through the phone, at one point after I was able to locate the truck the screen said to take the phone into the location to show the attendant and get the key. The attendant asked what I was showing him and said I am not giving you a key just because your phone says. He ended up calling U-Haul who said to give me the key. When I returned it he said I had to sign all this paperwork for his records. The online process was not efficient at all in this instance. Well got call 2 days before and had location changed for pick up. Then got to that location and didn't have a truck. Had to wait and go to a nother location to pick up truck. Only offered $50 off cost. Wasn't enough for the inconvenience of not being able to get to location and get loaded and leave that day. Will not get truck again.Shad W.

It took over 30 minutes to receive truck because it is a convenience store so the clerk has to stop U-Haul check in or out to take care of store/gas customers. Took 40 minutes to return. I was on a tight pick up schedule so it caused a delay and I had to add additional time.joan B.

Communication between UHaul locations needs to improve. The location we were supposed to return our UHaul to wouldn't take it because she said she didn't have room. The paperwork said to return it to that location and the manager made us leave and return to a different location. I asked her to call so we wouldn't get turned away from that location also. Well, she didn't call and when we arrived they didn't think they could take it either. Returning the UHaul was not an easy experience and we were afraid we were going to have to drive it another 90 minutes to return it where it was picked up.jill B.

The cashier was very nice checking me out, There were several customers that were coming in and out to purchase gas and other purchases. The attendant was trying to handle all the costumers, while the manager at on the floor shuffling papers. My transaction of renting the u-haul was time consuming. I am a business owner and if one of my employees, especially a manager was just sitting while there was a line of paying costumers that needed to be checked out the would be reprimanded!karen M.
