The truck was dangerous to drive. Braking caused the engine to shift down at 4000RPMS. That caused me and my son to be jerked forward. I live two blocks from location. I dropped off truck after hours. Took video of the dash because my camera couldn't take both gas and mileage in one shot. Put keys in box and left. I clicked on link to close out and instructions were to use YOUR camera to take picture. You should warn people not to leave until this process is done. Not fair. Also I asked the nice man at counter what size truck for a 10x6 PODS container. I wanted to make one trip. Truck was too small. Had to make two trips. $60 in gas, $116 + more mileage I did want to spend. Over $200 !! Unsatisfactory.Brooke R.

Rented a truck. Once we finished the paper work. Walked the truck by myself. Got in to leave and it smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. The dash and steering wheel we dirty. Made it home with windows down. Cleaned the inside and sprayed fabrez on seats and headliner. Almost whole bottle! When I returned the truck. Told people about the smell, was told oh we tell people not to smoke. But can't stop them. Horrible customer service.Maryjane K.
When I made the reservation on line & had issues, I called customer support & was provided fantastic guidance. Upon arrival to the location I was greeted by a very helpful man Nicolas. I absolutely had a great experience. I was stressed heading to location fearing the trailer wouldn't be there, but it was & everything worked out perfectly. I even returned it a couple hrs early so they would have opportunity to rent it out again if needed. Thank you very much U haul.Kevin H.
Customer's need to know that they ought to call in advance to find out where the shop wants the vehicle or trailer dropped off. The parking lot is extremely small, with vehicles/trailers parked in a tandem fashion, and the entrance comes right off of a very busy highway. Any pause in front of the entry causes a person to block traffic headed toward the signal just a 100 feet away. An adjacent side street was used for parking as well, but this wasn't clearly marked and it was a bit of a walk to the shop.MICHELLE P.

The service at this location treated us better than UHAUL did. I don't think UHAUL understands what the word "guarantee" means because it sure doesn't mean the vehicle you requested and paid for will be there. Reserved a 26ft well in advance. Got a call a day before to confirm the check in time would be later but "guaranteed" the vehicle would be there. Hour before pick up they had no 26ft truck. They only had a 20ft or we could gamble and wait 3hrs for the 26ft truck to be dropped off. The only guarantee UHAUL has is the guarantee they'll take your money.Bryan A.

It's easy to seee why his small business is surving in these times. Other locations (Escondido) truck was filthy when we rented it, had to wipe the inside down, not just for COVID but dirt and grime.Jeffrey R.
Second time now that Uhaul attempted to charge me for a full tank of gas that wasn't there just because Uhaul's computer system said so. Getting sick of arguing that. Stood in line 45 minutes while one single guy tried to help everyone beginning with a couple taking forever.Kelby J.

Owner Martin is one great brand ambassador but the network/system could use(needs ASAP) an upgrade because when you sell yourself short from supplying your vendors with inadequate equipment it reflects on the business. With the system challenges Martin was professional, very kind and kept us updated as the system issue was resolved. I made a reservation but when I am ready to pick up the truck they told me that there was no available truck and sent me to another location which is 4 miles farther. Also on my reservation they charge me for $0.88 cents per mile but the place charged me $010 cents more per hour and told me that it was the â€œMARKETING â€œ who gave the price for $0.88 cents per mile. when renting an open trailer it is important to know if the trailer has a ramp our not, I just assumed being an open trailer and low it would have a ramp, mine did not my bad, but it would be nice if the CSR would ask our stipulate that the trailer you are renting has a ramp our not, Thank You for your time, Dennis MurilloDennis M.

Your central dispatching is a disaster. They send me on a 4 hour wild goose chase for a trailer that didn't exist. Then when I finally got to the Winchester location, it was NOT the size trailer I had reserved. Your locations were fine. Your service sucks.Thomas A.
The people at the location were awesome! However, the truck was filthy dirty outside. Was very clean inside but the outside was extremely dirty and needed a bath desperately. The man cleaned the windows so I could see but the rest of the exterior was extremely dirty.Steven S.

The cop said the tags were expired. The first person I spoke with from u haul said they were expired. Of course once I dropped it off all of a sudden it's not expired and charged me a fee since I didn't want to drive a truck illegally to put in gas. I don't care about paying for overpriced gas but a fee on top....Alfred S.

I had a nightmare of a weekend with uhaul rental and it was not this location's fault. I reserved a 20 foot truck well in advance of my moving date. Then at 6:30pm the night before my 8 am move I received a phone call that the uhaul location I was picking up at did not have my truck in Lake Elsinore. I was offered another truck over an hour away from my home, "possibly" if the person who had it returned it on time, AND the pickup would not be until 11am instead of 8 am. My date and time were not flexible because unlike most of the country I am working Monday - Friday right now so I had to move this weekend, and I had already planned for movers to be at my house at 8:30 am to load the truck. I was also offered numerous truck and trailers that were NOT one way drops like I had reserved. Which meant that conveniently Uhaul did not have what I had reserved but would set me up in a more expensive option. Smells of extortion to me. Calling a client after business hours for most locations and rental businesses to tell me you don't have my truck but you can put me in something more expensive. I was not told that uhaul can just essentially cancel my reservation the night before my pickup. Absolutely ridiculous and poor customer service. All I was told by the employees on the phone was well that is how we do business and we have been in business for a long time so it must be a good business model. Eventually, after having to speak to two different uhaul team members on the phone the night before my move, I was set up with a truck and trailer in Winchester, CA. Winchester is 35 miles from my location one way. So having no other options at this late stage of the move, I had to take it. I drove out to Winchester, the store did not open until 9am so I was already running late for the movers. Then when I arrived at the store I was told that they had my reservation for the trailer and not the truck. Luckily, I had to different confirmation numbers and they were able to rent me the truck (although I have a feeling that it probably screwed someone else down the road) because the man at the counter told me that he had already rented that truck. What a disaster!! The rental price was close but more expensive than what I had originally reserved. Again convenient that uhaul gets to make more money off something that is completely out of my control. I rented the truck and trailer for one way and was told a flat rate at pick up for both items. I finally got to loading the truck and trailer nearly 2.5 hours later than my original plan. I had to call extra help in order to get the house moved on time. When I went to return the truck later on in the day I was told that they were checking the mileage. Which I questioned because I was only made aware of the flat rate. I was NEVER told that i was going to be charged mileage. Nor did I see it in my contract. The man told me that the flat rate only comes with 60 miles of complimentary mileage andDanielle S.

First off, there was no one around when I took it to drop off. It took calling three different numbers to finally get someone on the phone and explain how and where to leave the van. The next morning I got woken up by a call and it was from the drop off saying the tank was completely empty and I was going to have to pay for it. I definitely filled the tank a block away from the drop-off location so wtf? How is that even possible if when I received the truck it was full and I drove it for maybe an hour- still no way it'd be empty. Would not recommend. I would've rather driven to a further location to drop it off.Jennifer Q.

I was bumped from McCall Menifee, CA location to Simpson Winchester, CA location. From beginning to end, this was the most stressful moving experience. A reservation was made, confirmed several times with entities not at this location due to "phone no longer in service", but at time of pick up a truck was not available. With several phone calls & their computer updated with my information, a truck miraculously materialized. However, an appliance dolly & a dozen blankets were not available as was reserved. To top it all off, my credit card was charged the full amount due but I was initially told my credit card # be would used as a hold only.Richard C.
